oo. i was amazed kasi nandun na ako nung sine-setup pa lang yung mga kits sa tapat ng JB. mukhang talagang drummer din yung tech na nag-ayos sa drums ni dindin. ang ganda ng tunog ng buong kit. yung snare niya nakaplastic pa parang hindi pa nagagamit. eh sa dami ba naman ng snares ni mister dindin eh di ako magtataka kung bakit prineserve niya muna yung freshness ng fernando snare para sa event na yun. right "out of the box" ang sarap agad sa tenga nung snare. sana magpasok pa sila ng ganung snares.
Yup! Drummer nga din siya. His name is Roel Sotto. He's my full-time drumtech for gigs, concerts, and tours. He drums for the Goth band, Scarlet Tears and Indie band Candy Audioline. Sometimes he drumtechs for Cheese, Moonstar 88, and Kamikazee, since all under the same management kami. Parati ko din kasama siya during drum events and shopping for new gear. Kaya napapagastos pa ako ng mas malaki... x2 hehehe
About the snare, first time ko lang ginamit yun nun sa event. Medyo nakakahiya nga e kasi stock Fernando head pa yung nakakabit sa buong drumset. Di pa dumadating yung mga bagong Remos ng JB e. Mas nakakahiya naman sa JB kung yung Jordison or yung FFS yung ilagay ko dun. hehehe Anyway, the snare is a Fernando 14x5 9ply Birch with stock Fernando heads. 10 tuning lugs. Tuned medium-tight on the top, medium on the bottom. We used a Evans Tension Watch drumkey to get even tension across all Lugs. All of us, including Mike Alba and Vic Mercado were surprised on how crisp, loud, and full-bodied the snare sounded.
If you watched the drum-off infront of JB, Makikita mo si Mike Alba at Vic Mercado na nanggigil sa snare. Kaya naging kutis buwan yung stock head after. Di talaga pwede pang-hatawan yung stock heads. Pero it's ok... I won't sue them... Bibigyan naman ako ng powerstroke ni Vinci e. hehehe
