Bakit kailangan ibahin? Bakit? Bakit?!!! hahaha

i dont get some people, bakit sila nagsasabi ng "jah" "irie" blah blah blah... di ko magets eh! pinoy ka chong! PINOY! hindi porke tumutugtog ka na ng reggae at nagdadamit rasta ka e ibig sabihin JAMAICAN KA NA. born in the philippines ka brad, nakakatawa na may babylon ka pa pero nagsisimba ka sa baclaran. dont get me wrong, i have nothing against jamaicans and i, too, am a big fan of mr. marley and i admire him for his patriotism and his love for music but above all i am brown, proud and pure flip. di ako nanggugulo, just sharing my insights    dami ko kc naeencounter na mga taong balat-kayo, and frankly naiirita ako
Amen Bro! Asar na asar din ako sa ganyan. Promise. Honestly ambaduy! Feeling jamaican na ewan.

@ everyone

read each and every comment may point naman lahat ng sinasabi niyo. pero kanya kanya trip lang yan. mga nagsasabi stick to your roots jan hindi naman ppwede yun sa iba. ako chinese born and raised dito eh kung sinabi stick to my roots hindi ba sana naging buddhist ako dahil sa pamilya ko. hindi rin naman ako poser dahil hindi ako gumagamit ng "jamaican english" hindi rin naman ako rastafarian dahil hindi ako naka dreadlocks at hindi ako vegetarian, but open minded ako. kahit sa religion masasabi ko wala ako religion but i believe in GOD. i smoke the herb everyday in front of my wife and daughter not because nagpapacool ako o trip lang. si BOB Marley na mismo symbol ng reggae/rastafar-I  alam niyo ba na hindi siya full blooded jamaican. 50-50 half caste nga siya outsider ang tawag sakanyafather niya is white. pero bakit hindi niyo siya sabihin na poser siya? dati hindi naman yan naka dreads hindi pa siya rastafar-i? so does that make him a poser? o feelingero? magisip kayo. kanya kanyang paniniwala at trip lang yan. "live and let live" ika nga. parang noon hippie era ang dami naman dito sa pinas nakigaya malamang magulang niyo nakiki - in din. but don't you see nasasaktan ba kayo kung magsalita sila ng jah? o mga jejemon na nagtetext naabala ba kayo? hindi naman diba kanya kanya lang yan. think again. lets get together and feel alright. hindi ba dapat maging masaya nalang kayo para sa ibang tao

IMHO

try mo kayang kalabitin baka tumunog...

kapatid, what i meant with stick to your roots is be a filipino musician not a filipino musician trying hard to speak like or be a jamaican/rastafarian. tumugtog ka ng reggae pero wag ka maging "stage-jamaican". nope di ako nasasaktan sa mga nagpapaka jamaican, nakakatawa nga sila e hehe! buti sana kung may accent lang sa pagkanta, e sumobra na ata kasi pati in between sets at sa baba ng stage juma-jah pa din. i have nothing against these guys, yun ang trip nila e.

i agree with fretboard

you can embrace a culture, tradition or anything that can give you deeper knowledge of what genre you are playing, BUT never set aside who and what you really are.

i agree with this. madaming nadadala masyado ng genre / tugtugan nila e. a friend turned me on to reggae right after highschool, to this day we address each other as "roots" - even after we'd gone thru smooth jazz, country and what not together.

Pwede ba pa UP neto? hehe.

 :-D Peace
