Hi mga sir. I'm really a new/noob at using tele, I usually play humbucker guitar.. Hindi ko naman ma backread isa isa yung mga post kasi super dami. Just want to ask question. I will be having a telecaster soon, also planning to set it up to Micsis for Gauge 11 Elixir. The question is, ano kaya ang mga pro's and con's for using Gauge 11 for tele? Will it affect the neck, etc? I will be having a squire telecaster MII btw, pinaglumaan ng pinsan ko. As a starter guitar muna para sa tele. I tried finding answers from google, pero nakukulangan ako sa mga info na nakikita ko run. Mas reliable for sure yung mga answers ditto.

Try asking Micsis before ka magpaset up. Sa dami ng na set up nya he may have the answer.

It will affect the neck if the previous strings installed are lighter pero isesetup naman ni Mike. Don't worry about that. I tried a set of Rotosound Pure Nickels (11-49) in my former Squier standard telecaster, tuned to standard E. Hindi ko kinaya yung tension. I had to revert it back to 10s. If you can cope up with the stiffer tension, lalo na at Elixir yan, then go for it.

it may pull the neck. depende sa gitara at paano sya na iset up before. may mga gitara na naka setup for 10s at kaya niya mag 11s without much change. but usually meron.

if you can play 11s then why not. aadjust lang niya yun. if not gamitin mo as is muna before jumping up in gauge.

I finally got my dream guitar.

The neck is chunky but it feels just right. Comfortable pa rin. The Dimarzio Chopper T screams! I've got a set of gold Sperzels coming in to replace the current chrome set installed. I might also add a push/pull tone control. The supposed tone control is a switch for series/parallel in the middle position.

@iceblink question. Is the taper on the special's volume pot taper or linear? I'm not sure if mine was swapped out or stock, but there is not much volume on 5 then it gets loud from around 7-10

not quite sure if its taper and linear but it does getting hotter on 7 to 10s and the twang gets glassy...on 1 to 5 its warm you can feel the wood tone
