Good day mga Kuya, i dont know if there's existing thread that is same with this,but here is it;

I'm been thinking to buy a high gain pedal that is:

1.Versatile

2.That can stand alone (can play competitively even without using other pedal/s to add character,boost etc.)

3.And the pedal that can use both in soloing/shredding and heavy riffing (assuming that i can play like that :-D)

Because of different kinds of pedals that ive read or heard, it is very difficult to decide which pedal will i use. I know that different pedals have different tone,character, etc..I need your expert pieces of advice regarding my concern.

Thanks in advance.. :wink:
Modified mt2/hm100. Once you remove that fizzy sound, the oedal can go from dirty clean to heavy metal and all points in between. Wait lang I'll clean my unit and prep it for a demo

I haven't tried the empress heavy. Imo, the empress heavy is on par with the tight metal pro.

Tried one before. A/B'd it with the Openhaus and BEOD. Different flavors. All are killer.  :-)

Korek. It's the amp you're hearing anyway. Funny how we insist on using tube amps yet we stick transistor based boxes in front of them with ease.

Because of "convenience" when playing at a low volume level. :-)

Yeah I completely relate to that. Sadly, that furher deteriorates the tone coz the head aint moving the speakers enough. I guess these boxes are the best we can have when playing in our condos or at mom's house. #BedroomGuitaristLife

Bro, in all seriousness, there's a certain personal minimum standard which I can consider passable in terms of what I think sounds good at a particular volume level. Surely, you're not pushing the speakers and moving enough air at a low volume level.... But that's not what I'm after if I just want to practice and improve my chops or when I'm learning a song.

It's not really about tone deterioration. It's how one sound can effectively work for you at a particular instance. :-)

Question lang... kamusta ang gain response nito at low level? Been eyeing on this for a while now. Concern ko lang baka kasi masyadong in-your-face ang distortion at fizzy?

The Fat Rock pedal is my go to metal distortion today. The tight switch knob is a game changer for me, and the built in noise gate is a big plus.

try local builders like PedalBot's AfterMath.
