nice! I've never recorded anything that big, just smaller jazz/ rock band settings, it must have been quite an experience:)

darn.  i wanted to be there but i was up to my neck in studio work. the page doesnt seem to be loading.  do tell us about what happened :)

I saw the post over at IAA, too bad I had a busy sched then; I would have liked to even just observe the techniques and procedures. Can you give us some backgrounder on the equipment used?

list of equipment used in the PPO @ CCP recording sessions

very straightforward techniques
- mics
  + selection
  + placement
  + positioning
- signal path was just setting gain levels

I've been playing with the idea of putting 2 PZM's back-to-back and hovering that at centerstage to try and capture a stereo field of the orchestra. I wonder if anyone's tried that before, at least locally.
