anybody tried to wire a high output bridge humbucker into parallel? will a push-pull pot do the trick for series/parallel switching?

Tried it with a SD JB. Far from a single coil sound. It's got that bite and treble pero full bodied pa rin. Yes, a series/parallel switching may work with a push/pull pot. Ganyan ginawa ko dati.

I eventually went with a coil split for "better" single coil sounds.

thanks! I use an Entwistle Darkstar on my basswood Ibanez, (but soon to switch for a DM Tone Zone). naka 3 way switch kasi ako, I find the 5way switch to cumbersome. I plan on having a pushpull volume knob to switch my bridge pickup to series/parallel, tapos push-pull tone knob naman for my neck pickup (nagustuhan ko kasi yung tunog ng neck pickup in parallel lalo na pag naka distortion. Ayoko lang kasi sa coil splits is masyadong mahina ang volume, yep I need the treble pero with minimal tone loss and more full bodied tone. Interested ako marinig yung high output na bridge to see how it sounds, baka pwede ko rin ma utilize, initial plan ko kasi is neck pickup lang na push pull hehe.

will that give me "the sound" I need?

Hahaha. That's hard. I can't say with absolute certainty if it will work for you. Trial and error lang. :)

well, modding ain't that bad if done right. mostly naman yung functional and tonal areas naman ng guitar yung target for modification, mostly pickups, bridges, tuners, etc. Kanya-kanya lang yan ng trip siyempre hehe.

BTW your guitar looks really sweet! (I've always wanted a LEs Paul. hehe)

Yes, leather strap, yung medyo manipis, or yung suede na brown.

Modding is beneficial if you are aware of all the very small things in your guitar affecting tone. So far, lahat naman ng mods na i did on my lp eh may improvement. The guitar is great stock, even greater with the mods.

I remember 1 strat i bought and sold before, fully modded with custom shop pickups pa, nipis ng tunog!!!

I'll look for a nice strap this weekend.

When it comes to modifications, mas importante saken ang tone improvement, kesa looks. Tsaka na yung looks

Eto:
- replaced pickups with Dimarzio Evo's white, and True Velvet mid
- and the electrical mods listed below - DIY!
   - this makes 11 pickup combinations
- Sperzel locking tuner two tone (just for looks and ease of changing strings)

Ganda, ito main guitar niyo sir?

Ay sorry sir hehe ganito pala: bridge series, bridge parallel, bridge and neck, neck parallel, neck series.

Hahaha. Ok, ok.

Ano nga pala yung gitara mo at yung stock switch niya?

Yup. :) 50s wiring. Haha. :-)
