Yo JP!

I think the AHEAD sticks are not for everybody.  But if it's available locally, I think it will sell really well.  I realized that drumsticks are a big issue amongst us Pinoy drummers (cost, durability, reliability etc.).  The AHEAD sticks can be a good alternative to most drummers out there, especially the hard-hitting types.

Whoever will be distributing AHEAD sticks should be ready for its after-market parts and accessories, such as spare covers, tips, grip tapes etc.  Investment kasi ang pagbili ng AHEAD sticks.  One would buy a pair to start things off.  After that, yung mga papalitan na lang ay yung mga covers, or even tips...  No need to buy a whole new pair.  And as far as I know, mas mura na ang mga replacement covers ng AHEAD compared to a brand-new branded pair of sticks.

I have a pair of AHEAD sticks.  But I'm unable to use it anymore because one of the sticks broke.  Personally, I still prefer wood sticks because of its feel and it sounds better and more musical, especially with cross-sticks.  Pero kapag mabigatan na ang tugtog, AHEAD sticks are the real deal.

Mga bosing, Im planing to buy a new set of replacement covers for my ahead sticks. My problem is nawala yung case nya and burado na yung label sa sticks, di ako sure sa size. Pano po ba malalaman ang size nya? Nabasa ko po sa website na ang sizes na available are long, medium, short and super short. Any idea kung ilang inches ang mga ito? :-D

I have 3 pairs. Ive been using my first pair since june, playing almost everyday both at home and gigs.  kahapon lang bumigay.  :-D tipid sya in the long run, kasi ang tibay niya and  yung after market sleeves are cheap. i bought the after market sleeves through vinci. I wouldn't use them for recording though. For live lang.

Post a photo of your AHEAD sticks.  Maybe some of us here might correctly identify it.  8-)

Nice! May Ahead na sa atin! I have two pairs. One I bought in 1992 and the other one was last year. Since home drummer lang ako, my Circa 92 5A Ahead stick is still alive. I just replaced the taper once.

I like the response but I prefer the sound of wood sticks. Loyal ako sa 7A Vic Firth.

Ang na-miss ko na drumstick e yung ProMark Hotrods. I don't really now the real use of it but I love it for silent practice. Medyo mahal lang.

I am also one of those unfortunate drummers who have a broken AHEAD stick.

I already told my story a few times online, but I'll share it again...

I got my first and only pair of AHEAD sticks sometime in 2002, through my good friend who went to the US.  In early '03, my former band and I were performing in Malaysia, and I would often use my AHEAD 5B sticks whenever we play heavy music.  One night, during the middle of a song, I noticed one of my AHEAD sticks feeling "weak".  So, after the gig, I inspected it.  There I discovered its damaged core.  Take note...  It's the core, not the replaceable cover.

I tend to play heavily at times, but not in an abusive nor damaging level.  So I can't believe that my supposedly tough and durable AHEAD aluminum alloy drumstick broke, considering the fact that I'm pretty much careful with my things.  I'm not sure if my frequent rimshots back in the day contributed to its damage.  But I don't think it's supposed to happen.  I may be a victim of a possible factory defect, or a lemon (a product with a hidden manufacturing defect).  I tried repairing it with steel epoxy, but it didn't work.

I still kept my AHEADs, though obviously I can't use it anymore.  I kept it as my personal museum piece, and as reference or proof that these things do break.  I didn't pose this reply to diss AHEAD sticks.  This is just a piece of reality based on my personal experience.  Anyway, I still prefer the feel and sound of good old wood.
