Sir based from the photograph (a bit worn out), IMHO

if MIJ Basswood - 4k-6k
if MIJ Alder - 6k-8k

Hey... for that price, I'll buy it. I can sure use a practice guitar. What wood is the body? Where was it made? Is this strat for sale? Location? Price? Case/gig bag?

I would reserve opinion til I saw the back of this guitar. kasi parang sobrang laki nung itim portion ng paintjob. Is the rear contour/tummy cut all black or meron burst?

you mean whether veneer ang top/back? wala syan pics nung the back e. but good you mentioned so i can ask that too. altho, for me, kung alder yung wood, kahit veneer, ok lang. may magandang quality rin yung multi-piece e.

^^^I have some occasional run-ins w/ those types of guitars (battered and unappreciated--full of mojo).
They sell it it that way here in JP except special ones like anniversary issues, etc.
The cost of restoration is the same or twice the price of a particular guitar.

kung puro black yung kulay ng contours, baka lang kasi plywood ang tinatago ng black paint... I am not however saying that plywood guitars do not sound good.

Nice one! magkano asking price? below 10K i think is a lowball, the guitar looks really nice! walang pic ng likod? i wouldnt mind paying around 15K or less for it...if its all stock Fender Japan strat.

No, Phil. Medyo gahol sa oras noon, eh, hehe. Next time dadalhin ang gears ko as much as I can (which is not much, hehe). Yong strat inaayos ko pa ang neck/fret. Balak kong i re-fret with 6105 or 6100 jumbo frets if I have the time. If not, than I'll just get a decent neck in Ebay.

Vegie... that is an old YAMAHA SL500. Very nice copy. Obviouslly not the real thing but does the job very well. I installed a couple of EMGs in there to get the Zakk Wylde feel. Unfortunatelly, I don't have the Zakk Wylde talent, hahaha!!!

Vegie... I can attest to that epi alley kat. Sweet tone, nice feel. I should know... I was graced with luck to be allowed to touch the guitar. Haven't washed my hands since, don't want to wash the mojo off, hehehe
