In chronological order... :-)
1)Kirk Hammet and James Hetfield-these 2 are the reasons "why" I wanted to play the guitar(also watched their concert in Manila way back 93-94 I guess..)
2)Slash-I started listening to GNR the same year I listened to Metallica(during my 2nd grade, the summer of 1989.....ahhhhh).I also loved how slash plays rock, blues and melodic solos....at the then drop of a hat,he can come up with cool melodic solos...
3)Paul Gilbert-since 1990 I was already a big fan of this guy..His speed and accuracy makes your jaw drop and we cant take out the fact that it is very evident that he is a good songwriter and also a melodic player especially during his Mr Big days......Also I love his wit and humor.I even watched Mr.Big's concert here in Manila at the FAT...front row seats baby!(same with Metallica, tickets were only sold at 1.2K back then...hehe)
4)Marty Friedman-No one could deny how this guy could be melodic and aggressive when it comes to playing. Super melodic guy!
5)Eric Johnson-from clean to dirty and everything in between....what can I say?
6)Manuel Legarda,David Aguirre,Tirso Ripol,Noel Mendez,Carlo Aquino,Perfecto De Castro-Lets not forget to credit our own players...How they influenced us and made us to practice more and revolutionized the guitar scene....
6)John Mayer-there are only a few that could understand how good he is as a musician as well as great blues player.
7)Richie Kotzen-looks,voice,guitar playing....This guy has everything........He puts a lot of soul into his music without sacrificing coolness!

Guitarists who changed my musical direction:

1 Mathew Tuck (Bullet for my Valentine) - I was still emo that time, my band mates forced me to learn the solo of Tears don't fall, that's when I started to like fast riffs.
2 Karl Sanders and Dallas Toller Wade(Nile) - Introduced me to real Heavy Metal, I mastered the Egyptian sounding scales.
3 Stephan Forte(Adagio) - The Neo-Classical powers was passed on to me. :-P
4 Ian Umali (P.O.T.) - The Funky and Groovy Stuff.
5 Mikael Akerfeldt(Opeth) - Weird Chords, Helped me a lot in song writing. Opened my ears to other genres like blues, jazz, latin etc.
6 Shawn Lane - Taught me how to create Fusion/Jazz Stuffs.

Early on my influence was mainly Slash... Now that I've listened to and watched a lot of guitar gods, I think the one that I can connect to and relate most with is Marty Friedman!  :-D
cheers! :-D

The rest are:
Steve Vai
Paul Gilbert
Tom Delonge haha

Too many to mention. But my main cat will always be, of course, the greatest ever, the ultimate guitar god, EDWARD VAN HALEN! He's on top of my list and number 1 in my book. EVH will always be and look cooler than anyone else. That trait alone is already hard to match.

Why EVH?..Search him up on the internet and you'll know why.

Will all due respect, mister, of all the guitar players you've mentioned, Jason Becker is probably the best of 'em. And in the sweep picking department, he's untouchable. His sweep patterns are/were truly complex yet the cleanest I have ever heard.

Anyway, let me just ask you, what do you think of Richie Kotzen's sweep picking technique? :-)

not in particular order:
1) JP
2) PG
3) MF
4) GG
5) JS
6) TE
7) AT

madami pa akong hindi kilala na magagaling... madadagdagan pa to...

+1demo naman..playing speed symphony from cacophony..becker and friedman nga lang.. :-D
i really love becker..and when he's with marty..they're both one of the best guitarist..

IMO i would vote for batio for technique and speed(fluency) rather than tiago..
and YJM sounds monotonous sometimes..that's just my opinion..but hell yeah..they're all great guitar gods..
