Title: Phoebus Acoustic Guitar,anyone?(With Video Demo na!)

This morning,I went from Olongapo to Makati just to buy a Phoebus Guitar from Mark(Guitar Pusher).
I have to say that the price of the guitar that I bought is simply amazing,cheap price but great quality and sound,not to mention,fishman onboard pa yung guitar.I bought the PG50CE with pickup.
Mark is very accomodating and he let mo test the guitars that I want to.Guitar Pusher is located at his condo unit in West Gate Plaza.
From the PG20 which I guess the lowest end or the entry level Phoebus guitar up to it's highest model,the PG90(below 20k :-o) Mapapawow ka talaga sa tunog.At first,akala ko madidisappoint ako sa guitar,akala ko katulad lang sya ng ibang made in China na guitar(Yes,it's made in China) But if you're looking for a guitar that can sit and jam with you all-night,yung tipong tutugtugin mo lang ng tutugtugin yung gitara?well,Try the Phoebus Guitar.I'm not an endorser but I just want others to have a great guitar for an affordable price without ipon mode ng matindi :wave:

Wow! That's nice to hear! I'm planning to buy a decent acoustic for home/practice use. Planning to get the PG-20 or 30. This helps a lot with my decision of going for Pheobus products! Diba meron din sila somewhere sa Makati?

I've tried the PG20CE which is yung may cutaway,grabe nakakagulat talaga yung price nun for it's sound and quality.
I suggest na puntahan mo sila bro para malaman mo sinasabi ko :wave:

Maganda talaga ang Phoebus. Nagulat din ako nung unang beses ako nakasubok. Ganda ng tunog pero mura lang sila.
Anyway, aside from Makati, pwede din makabili ng Phoebus guitars sa satellite base ng Guitar Pusher sa Boni Ave sa Mandaluyong. Malapit lang sa city hall.

I got to try two of these babies... I forgot the exact models. The ones with the cut-aways. Pretty decent sounding acoustic guitars for their price. Dirt cheap sweet tones.
I love the satin finish on the neck. Very easy to play, and please confirm, markcasq and freemansj, if these are factory set up before heading out to costumers, because the string action is just about right and ready off the box. Low and just right.
I wonder when the next shipment of the OOM shapes is?
I tried it unplugged. Anyone here ever tried it plugged in to an acoustic amp? Yo Pete, fishman ba nakainstall sa ibang models?

Hey hey, is that the fishman mark posted on facebook? The one with the built-in tuner?
Personally, I wouldn't spend a fortune on an acoustic guitar. I tend to spend a lot more on electrics. So Phoebus are a lifesaver for acoustc cheapskates like me nyehehehe..
Well wadaya know? Good tones can possibly come from something Chinese-made. :)

ayus meron na pala thread dito about Phoebus....kakakuha ko lang last wed kay sir mark ng PG40e and mismo yung tunog and feel! fan ako ng martin but i can't afford to have one so matagal ako naghanap ng acoustic na medyo mura and nakita ko nga tong phoebus guitar at naging interested lalo ako nung nakita ko tong OM shape nila aun and after itest inuwi ko na sa bahay haha!ganda ng tunog kahit unplugged!salamat kay sir mark sa pagdala ng phoebus dito!

By the way, we also do guitar + preamp customizations and Micsis is our partner. I think Renz will be getting a PG-90 + Fishman premium blend OEM (piezo + mic). We might also do PG-20/30 with fishman or b-band preamps (T series)

Well-made, striking because of the common misconception that any guitar coming out from china is low in build quality. I'd say even edges out from the other china-made acoustics from the local music stores
Good sounding acoustics, yes they sing.. you can definitely tell by the demos of our fellow musicians here
Affordable... super affordable.
I tried two or three.. all consistent in build and sound. If I was really into acoustics, I'd definitely jump on a purchase myself. I won't be surprised if I did once of these days. :)

Pwedeng pwede! Basta po gagawa kayo ng demo for us. LOL! Joke lang po. Pwede naman po mag-test. :-D
Ayus sir, so plug and play na pala unlike yung sa suking tindahan na kailangan dalhin sa suking luthier for setup.

Maganda din kasi na ma-demo side by side yung dalawang flagship models nila. Ang gusto ko sa demo ni Maxi mas dinig mo yung tunog ng gitara.

Yan ba yung bilog? Kinabitan ko din yung pg30 ko, maganda nga natural yung tunog, kaya lang mahina output pero with the right preamp, ang ganda :-)

PG 20 kung gusto mo mas malakas ang treble, PG 30 kung gusto mo mas malakas ang bass. kung more on fingerpicking mas prefer ko po yung pg 20. kung more on strumming pg 30. test mo na lang pareho lagi naman merong stock sa kanila.

ang isa ring maganda sa Maestro ay meron silang custom build. tama yung nagsabi na, ang next step na upgrade sa pg 30 ay maestro na dapat. pwede na rin siguro lampasan yung pg 80 at pg 90. sana meron pa maestro after 10 years pag nagpalit ako ng pg 40.

ok acoustic newbie question: is there a big difference in the pickups for the PG40? I'm planning to go "no pickup" set up first, then depending on my "adiktion" saka ko na lang isipin yun pickup (ok ba tong idea na to?)

I have a PG40ce... Ang masasabi ko lang ay kapag hindi sya naka line sa pick up, mismo ang tunog... at kapag nala line na sa Fishman iSys+ nya, mismong mismo! Buo at mainit init pa ang tunog. :wave:
I suggest na yung may Pre installed pick up na ang iskorin mo bro kung iniisip mo din lang na mag lagay in future. Guitar Pusher also sells Gigbags/Hardcase.

bro, can't go wrong with the PG-40 or kung kaya ng budget maestro. i own the entry level one (PG-20) at andami kong compliments na nakukuha everytime i use it at church, be it sound, looks (sadly ng guitar, hindi ng looks ko :-P ). just drop by sa guitar pusher hq, at may MONO gigbags din dun so dun ka na bumili.
@pete/mark mabait to si raybrig, matagal lang nawala sa pm, pero fafable yan :-D

anyone here knows how to fix yung nagloose na tuners? I tried tightening the screws kala ko maluwag lang pero ayaw pa din nya matune ng tama umiikot yung tuner pegs pero hindi sya nagtighten <_<. haaays. Yun lang ayaw ko sa phoebus ok na lahat yung tuners palpak lang at plastic. :-(

o ayan. contact mo na daw sila sir. sabi ko syo madali kausap yang mga taga guitar pusher. ano po model ang nabili nyo? upgrade mo na lang yan sa maestro kung ayaw ng plastic (nut and saddle po ba ito?). ang pagkaka alam pwede rin magpapalit ng nut and saddle sa kanila eh.

yung sa d string lang po nagkaproblema.
ayun lang..lam ko di na sakop yun sa warranty pagkakaalam ko ah..so if you are having problems with the tuner wala kang no choice but to replace that,,baka may nangyari jan either sa pagpalit ng gauge ng strings or baka natamaan or something kaya nagka ganyan..better yet have it checked sa luthier na malapit ka...if wala na talaga buy new tuners nalang that will solve your problem...

Nung nag try ako ang aking natipuhan ay yung PG-40 ganda ng tunog, Pati yung pusa nila nkikinig habang nag ttry ako :wave:
Read that solid red pine wood ang PG-40. Bukod sa Phoebus, anong major brand ang gumagamit ng red pine? How does it compare sa spruce in terms of strength?
Plastic ba yung black na pihitan ng tuners sa PG-40? Nag-iipon kasi ako for a small body guitar for my son and I'm looking at all the options.

Thanks, I already saw their fb page and is also considering the phoebus baby. I'm confused though on the specs since the album and individual picture descriptions are not the same (solid cedar top vs solid red pine). I considered the PG-40 coz of suggestions to go full size instead of 3/4.

Ganda tumunog.malinis. Malinis din pagkakagawa. Natataasan lang ako sa action pero paset up ko na lang ulit next time.
Ang problem ko lang parang flimsy yung machine head. Di ko napansin kanina pero sure ako factory defect yung nasa akin. Mahirap ipihit parang bibigay yung D(4th string). Iba din kasi yung itchura niya sa ibang machine head tapos putol yung white part na plastic. Sana tumagal naman siya :-(
Overall okay naman yung guitar. Sabak kagad sa recording this week. Record ko lahat ng instrumental compositions ko kasama si Sir Roger Alcantara. Demo ko soon. :-D

I believe that the different series of their guitars would correlate to a better build quality as the series and price increases. Probably go for the higher end ones and you'll be alright. Just be sure to observe proper maintenance, as with any instrument.

Ok na po ba ang PG-40 or should i take higher model?

Sir natanong ko na po kay sir freemansj last week pa or 2wks ago na ata, wala daw pg40 with cutaway ngayon eh. I was hoping na baka yung gamit mong pg40ce sir ngayon mo lang rin nakuha. Baka kako may stock na ulet.

Haha, mas gusto ko talaga tunog ng Dread pag strumming kaso di ako comfortable gamitin kaya OM nalang =))

got a PG50CE from GP..my second guitar from them...(the first one was a Squire Tele) and planning on a third one this 2015 (going for an Ltd Ed Epiphone).. these guys are the best and vert accommodating... don't think 2x about getting your guitar from GP... it's worth getting Push'd..
