Welcome to the Breakbeat / Breakdown Era
« on: August 07, 2011, 04:49:49 AM »
Before when i was still in college when we say metal ang mga elements ng drums eh, thrash blasting.. as in talagang un ung sikat noon at may konteng off-beats.. pero ngaun.. grabe browsing youtube.. ALMOST every metal bands are into
BREAKBEATS / BREAKDOWNS.. may deathmetal band na may thrash then ...

Tu tug, tu-tug, tutututu, tutug tutug..

actually i like it, parang hiphop beat cya eh.. bouncy.. at pag may heavy riff.. headbang na..
before there was the blasting Era.. now everyband local and foreign drummers uses this kind of drumming technique..

do you agree na this is the BREAKDOWN Era for drumming?

atleast nagiging funky na yung music ngayon di tulad nung early metal, but medyo over the top nga lang yung ibang bands ngayon parang pinipilit.

I wasn't much of a blastbeats fan

im not referring to the non-metal bands... kaya ko nasabi na almost lahat ng bands ngayun eh false metal dahil ang breakdown beats ay popular sa new METAL(daw) BANDS na naglalabasan ngayun both foreign and local that i think is not true metal FOR ME... asking Alexandria, miss may i, attack attack, black veil brides, suicide silence, abr,  job for a cowboy and protest the hero etc are the examples even born of osiris and between the buried and me IMO!!.. they are just scene kids that became technically good and migrated to metal, and i really dont feel the aggressive attack in these artist that metal bands should have, just repetitive wanky neck breaking beats and exaggerated riffs and solos.

Ah i agree sir.

So i still prefer post hardcore/hardcore punk acts  :-D

I partly agree but don't diss those two bands, labelling them as "scene".

yes i have lot of respect for them and their skills that's why i separated them from the 1st list of bands that i mentioned. but in my opinion they are not "heavy" enough to be called true metal...

by the way nice avatar

kaya thanks to the new wave of thrash metal bands tulad ng suicidal angels, evile, havok, warbringer, municipal waste, mutant, gama bomb, violator etc... for bringing again the 80s thrash.. and the true sound of metal!!!
