Actually when I bought it I didn't know it was focused on Pete Best kasi ang nakalagay "The BEST of the Beatles".

jaja me too. I was thinking it was a compilation of Beatles Best works.

An article by Lambert Ramirez:

Some of our best artists fronted for The Beatles in these concerts. They included Eddie Reyes and D’Downbeats (with the D’Cavalcade Dancers), Dale Adriatico, Wing Duo, Pilita Corrales, Lemons Three, Quartet (accompanied by Pilita Corrales and The Lemmons Three) and The Reycard Duet.

By Lambert Ramirez

At this stage in their career where there are death threats, I think the Beatles are always secluded and heavily guarded and I doubt if they meet other artists.

There's a little possibility they might have seen the Beatles but it's quite probable they might not have met them and exchanged pleasantries.. They were close and yet so far, it's a given The Beatles were heavily guarded.

.. but hey Bryan, why they were in a yacht instead of The Manila Hotel? Is there much wisdom behind?

Pete Best interviewed latety

http://www.radio.cz/en/article/129437

Beatles' gigantic success “no surprise”, says original drummer Pete Best at Prague exhibition

How did you view the madness, the Beatlemania, from the sidelines, when the Beatles rather quickly became huge global stars?

“I think it was something which was…it wasn’t a surprise, like a lot of people think. It was something which was expected, we’d seen fan appeal even when I was with them. Even before they broke America and they went on to become icons of the music industry, they were still getting this fantastic response from audiences. And I think that was the charisma. They had something that wasn’t bottled, it was new, the way they presented it was new, and I think they just captivated the world.” Pete Best

Another reason yata that he was fired from the group ay dahil ayaw nyang sumunod sa bagong porma ng beatles (hairdo & formal clothes). Gusto nyang mag-stick sa leather jacket at 50's rock & roll hairdo. Nung nagpe-perform daw ang Beatles sa Cavern with the new drummer Ringo, there were fans na may mga placard na nakasulat "Pete Forever, Ringo Never".

Nagform ng bagong band si Pete Best after he was fired, according to wikipedia.

Paul surprised Ringo when Ringo celebrated his 70th birthday last July 7, 2010!

Ringo Starr got a special treat for his 70th birthday last night. Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney showed up at Ringo's All Starr concert at Radio City Music Hall and sang the Beatles' song "Birthday" to his friend and former bandmate. Ringo played drums while McCartney, 68, sang at the microphone. Paul and Ringo hugged and kissed after the song was over. What a treat for all the Beatles fans in the audience! Last year, Paul and Ringo appeared together at the 'Change Begins Within' benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation.

Earlier in the day at noon, Ringo Starr celebrated "Peace & Love" with fans in Times Square. Ringo called for fans to celebrate his 70th birthday by saying "Peace & Love" in honor of his birthday at noon all around the world.

A small birthday celebration for Ringo was then held inside the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Ringo, accompanied by wife, Barbara Bach, was presented with a large sheet cake decorated with the picture of a hand with two fingers gesturing the peace sign

Guys, this is a very strange idea but...

To all of you who regularly post in this thread, howsabout meeting on the 9th of December for a kind of bonding with Beatles fans dito sa PM? Puwede tayong mag jam, dala tayo instrumento. Dala rin tayo ng food, mga Beatles related memorabilia (rare lps, posters, books etc..) and really just bond with each other and share our love for the music of the Beatles. Slowhanpal and I live South of Metro Manila pero I think open din naman ito sa lahat.

I don't want to give details and logistics yet kasi nga it is only a wacky idea. You think you are warm to the idea?

It might be strange but it's a brilliant idea. I'm behind you Bryan. I'm very happy for this.

Dec. 9 is a perfect date in time to commemorate Lennon's death anniversary. If the guys out there are doing it, let's do it too our own way. Ample time to prepare bros.

I guess we've got to know who among you guys are willing to participate.

I play guitar & lead vocals for George's songs, back up vocals for songs of John & Paul.

Introduce yourselves & what instrument you play so we can group ourselves for Beatles and post Beatles repertoire.

A journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step... Bryan have done it, it's our turn to respond

Sir Obetskie, I guess you play guitar too?

sir Bryan, I used to live in Kamagong Road with my cousin

Kailangan seguro sir may mga committees or in charge sa repertoire, exhibits, groupings. kahit one day affair. 3 sets of 10 songs each. example set 1 Beatles songs, set 2 songs nong disbanded na ang Beatles, set 3 super jam na..parang All Starr Band, pwede interpretations na ng performers. magandang idea to sir sana matutuloy.

sino drummer at bass player dito? keyboard player din atbp

sounds good...   :-D  don't really have rare memorabilia - just a few books and a relatively complete mp3 collection sa PC (all studio albums, the Anthology, a few bootlegs), that's about it - but i can play the drums kung may open jam.   :-D

O ayun, may tatlong guitarista na, may isang bahista at drummer. Keyboardista na lang. (siyempre we need to hear those orchestral stuff and various odd noises sa later Beatles material.)
