DEAN Vendetta MX for 10k?
« on: April 06, 2006, 08:46:04 PM »
I saw this guitar in one of the guitar shops in QC and I want to get your opinion if it is worth it. It's on sale up to April 31st. I tried it through a Laney 50 watts amp and sound is perfect.

No case and freebies included so I would only get the guitar.

    *  Lightweight Paulowinia Body
    * Maple Neck
    * Rosewood Fretboard
    * Dual Humbuckers
    * String Thru Body Design
    * 24 frets

Any response would be gladly appreciated.  :twisted:

Is this your first guitar or your nth? What will you play it for?

That guitar would be great for gigs or for particular tones. String through body usually means more sustain. 24 frets is not that common. You can make this your experimental guitar for pickups.

As for making it a keepsake, it won't increase in value. So, think of it as a car and not an investment.

This will be my 4th guitar and im planning to make this my main axe. I play
from funk to grunge music.

Thanks for the reply. :P

My only concern is that it doesnt have a tremolo bar but I rarely use it anyway.

Actually rip-off na sa 10k yan dahil $100 lang mga Dean XM models.

Tapos marami akong nababasang hindi raw stable mag-hold ng tuning yan.

Anyway, good luck sa iyo!

dami nagsabi na di daw maganda yung pagkakagawa. dami daw sablay sa kahoy ng neck etc.  pero baka nasa stock din yun.  baka may mga ibang stocks naman sila na maayos

:cry: Actually, the reviews are somewhat mixed. Most say that the only problem is the tuning knobs that it doesn't stay in tune.  :roll: But, the body and and the neck though is really fine and light weight as well.

What are your 3 other guitars? Since this guitar is not really well-reviewed guitar, why make this your main guitar?

What is your amp setup and effects? 10K is a large investment. Since you have 3 other axes, you can put that money is better pickups or save up for an amp. Having 4 guitars is a heavy load for upkeep. I am not so sure about the wood on this guitar but since you like the tone, then I can't argue with that.

I have 2 Stratocaster copy guitars with single coils & 1 WashBurn Mercury series guitar which the Floyd Rose needs a replacement but the sound is still excellent.

I'm playing through a Marshall Valvestate with Zoom 606 -> MT-2 -> DM100 Dist Modeller -> Russian Big Muff

I'm thinking about that as well but, my Washburn is getting old already and spending more than 7K for upgrade for pickups and floyd rose I think is too much. I'm planning to make this as my back up on gigs

This is really killing me.. I like the looks and sound of it but reviews does not really say much. They also say that this is just a starter guitar?  :oops:

The guitar feels scratchy, poorly crafted imo. I tried that particular guitar iirc when i bought my multi-effects kit, its too light for my taste and the tone didn't suit me. But its just me of course. For your main axe? I'd give it more thought.
