BARCELONA (AFP) - Finnish brand Nokia, a former mobile star, on Sunday launched three new Android smartphones and unveiled a revamped version of its iconic 3310 model more than a decade after it was phased out.
Unlike the original, which was known for its sturdiness, the new Nokia 3310 will allow web browsing.
The new version will bring back its predecessor's popular "Snake" game and distinctive ringtones, said Arto Nummela, the head of Finnish start-up HMD Global which will produce the phone under a licensing agreement with Nokia.

parang wala na yung feel ng luma. keypad na lang makakapagpaalala sayo nung pinagmulan nitong phone e. but the screen, the features, parang hindi na.
i bet papatok to at magiging fad for some time dahil lahat ay magsasabi na 'nostalgic' daw.

Hahaha, di ko naranasan magpa ganyan, nung una ang mahal tas it gets cheaper, ansakit pa sa mata. Ok na yung green lang.

parang another nokia 105 lang or better. Kung di lang naiinis si misis sa paggamit ko ng nokia 105, id prefer na yun lang ang phone ko. hehe i can still type or use that phone without looking.

sana talaga customizable pa rin yung acetate, backlight at ringtone para mabuhay na naman ang kalakaran sa greenhills.

Tech-Heads Have Discovered The Nokia 3310 Has A Huge Design Flaw
But one crucial detail could mean it's not as fantastic as we thought - it won't work in much of the world.
While many parts of the phone have been updated, the new version still communicates with networks using old 2G frequencies, used before mobile Internet caught on.
However, 2G has already been turned off in many parts of the world, including Canada and the United States, and are on their way out in many other countries too.
So far, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan and the US have shut down most of their 2G networks or will do so soon.
If you're living in Europe and travelling to those countries, then the new 3310 won't work.
The issue is that the phone only supports GSM 900 MHz and 1800 MHz, which is primarily used in most parts of the world like Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
But North, Central and South America use 850 MHz and 1900 MHz - frequencies that the new Nokia won't be able to connect to.

may store sa alphaland, nadaanan ko last week nagbebenta ng mga decent nokias (3310 old, 8210, 3315) 2.5k bnew condition.

may nahuling chinese national ang customs dito satin. Kahon kahong 3310 na bago ang dala. Hinarang kasi smuggled daw nabalita yun.

Nakita ko naman yung fake sa Underpass sa Quiapo sabi ko langya ang bilis magaya ah. Nakita ko tinetest nung isa langya ang pale ng kulay ng screen eh
