So dumating na po ang alesis multimix 8 usb fx ko from the u.s. (sa wakas yeee!)
gonna be recording with it as soon as possible dito ko nalang po lagay ang reviews para hindi na mag multi-post. At sana comments nlng dito nalang.

I second the motion. I'm also planning to get one (along with a good mic) for home recordings.

For the same price, I would go for the Tascam.

Looking at the specs on the web, Tascam is more powerful but almost double the price. Tascam $299 vs. $159 for Alesis. I'll check out Guitar Center Totowa once I got the budget. Mukhang di na ako makabibili ng ibang pasalubong nito pag Tascam ang kinuha ko.

Stereo lang output ng $159 na Alesis unlike the $299 Alesis na marami.

Ok na yan if you're not going to record more than 2 tracks.  It's a mixer with a soundcard.  Output nito is stereo lang at 2 tracks lang ang binabato sa recording.

Di mo na kailangan gamitan yung Alesis ng UCA202 kasi may soundcard na rin siya.  Yung setup naman ng Behringer mixers is may separate soundcard in which yung mixer nakakabit sa UCA202.

The Alesis' soundcard is built in sa mixer.  Behringer mixers has a separate sound card the UCA200 series.  Pag nasira ang Alesis, sira ang mixer at soundcard.  Sa Behringer, pag nasira ang mixer, may soundcard ka pa.  Hehe.

It's your choice naman.

Are you going to record more than 2 instruments simultaneously?  For your Alesis choice, stereo lang output niyan going to the computer.  Maski 10 tracks nasa mixer mo, stereo recording lang iyan sa computer.

Check first what you need para mabawasan choices mo.

The Alesis' soundcard is built in sa mixer.  Behringer mixers has a separate sound card the UCA200 series.  Pag nasira ang Alesis, sira ang mixer at soundcard.  Sa Behringer, pag nasira ang mixer, may soundcard ka pa.  Hehe.

While I agree with this, the Behringer mixers have eq which I find 'unmusical' and the headroom is lacking in most of them. I haven't heard the xenyx mixers, which some other forums have said has very good preamps. Given a choice, I would get the firewire mixers for more track inputs, but then most pc's don't come with firewire ports. All in all, I'm not very fond of usb mixers.

di naman po kasi ako mag record ng drums so ok na siguro yata yung 2 input lang dba?
pwede naman po yun mga sir dba na pa isa isa lang ang pag record ng mga ( guitars , vocals , bass )?

So you actually don't need the mixer.  You can check M-audio Fast Track USB or the Tascam USB audio interface mga US series.

Ok...thru thorough research... I found out that Alesis Multimix8 2.0 USB is different from Alesis Multimix 8 USB w/ FX!

The former is capable of multi-track recording (10 ins, 2 outs)
& the latter is only capable of sending in/out stereo channels to/from your DAW...good for live though!

So I think I'd go w/ TASCAM US-1800 instead... There's a distributor in Ebay.ph that gives you option for best offer... So the retail price of $299 can be lowered to the price you want to offer them! I offered $199 @ first & they didn't accept it!... I tried $249 & WOW...They agreed to give it & assuring me that I would get a Brand New item, complete w/ everything in it's package... So, guys I suggest that you do the same too, to get a brand new TASCAM US-1800 at a very affordable price...GOODLUCK!
