1. Not wearing Ear Protections (Kelangan talaga ito)
2. Metronome usage
3. Too much cymbal notes
4. Bad timing on fills, bumibilis tuloy ang tempo.
5. Carry over tempo from a previous song
6. Having time for practice

-masyadong mahina pumalo (mahinhin)
-nagmamadaling gumaling magdrums :-D

2. Not practicing with a metronome.
3. Not using ear protection

10. Spending more time posting here in Pinoydrums when they should be practicing their chops!  :-D

I extend emphasis on #2 and #3. (I have to admit I fall under #2 still)

#10 is a different story! That should be acquitted of all charges! :-D

Usually I notice newbies trying to attain that "show-off", speed oriented drumming instead of quality.

Rarely do I see newbies which really sit down and master the cleanliness of sounds they produce from a kit and really discipline themselves on the basics first.

As we always hear "we had to learn to crawl before we walked then ran," same goes here.

ehem maraming ganyan. mahilig magtanong ng mga tips, exercises at kung anu-ano pa pero di din naman gagawin yung kahit ano dun. maraming excuses. hehe. if you want to get better, lay off the keyboard and get on with your drumming. gusto kasi ng tao ata yung madaliang (at madaling) solusyon sa problema e.

@akira jumbo

1. Uneven volume ng pagpalo around the kit.
2. Inconsistent timings. Tama, dapat nag-me-met (hindi metathione ha, metronome).
3. Not learning how to tune the drums.
4. Has more time practising hand tricks rather than rudiments.
5. Learning the notion "Faster is better". Paatras kung matuto.
6. Pag may composition yung banda, hala sige kung anu ano ang pinag-gagagawa, quarter-fills lahat!

Obsessed with high end gears too soon instead of instructional materials or formal lessons.

Focusing on fast double bass chops instead of mastering the basic rudiments and dynamic playing.

Plays too L O U D with wrong techniques which eventually lead to broken gears, then questions the quality of the gear but never himself or his wrong technique.

1. Not having the patience to learn rudiments. (minsan kasi wala na kong time, hehe.)
3. Not using ear protection.
4. Using old beat-up sticks. (wala kasing pambiling baong sticks, im poor!)
10. Spending more time posting here in Pinoydrums. (whahahahahaha, No Comment!)

Ayun! Sapul ako! Whahahaha!  :-D

Pahirit pa nga!
"kahit walang gamit . kaya gumawa ng paraan. make your own practice pad".
4. faster = better > WRONG! be accurate first!

correct me if i'm wrong, wala kc ako masyadong alam eh. hehe. pasensya na.

1. Not having the patience to learn rudiments. Gusto nila drum set na kaagad.
2. Not practicing with a metronome.
3. Not using ear protection
4. Using old beat-up sticks (may cracks/dents/chipped parts, halos napuputol na). Sticks are your main tools, so they shouldn't get in the way of learning the instrument. You're gonna have the best chance of success possible if your tools are working properly.
5. Not loosening up. Tense up your grip and you risk injuring yourself.
6. Learning how to play but not learning how to tune the instrument itself.
7. Hitting cymbals directly on the edge thus causing them to crack.
8. Over-filling. Inserting fills where it's not needed or appropriate.
9. Practicing their hand technique but forgetting to practice their foot technique.
10. Spending more time posting here in Pinoydrums when they should be practicing their chops!  :-D

*Which reminds me, I gotta go log-out so I can practice!

Dagdagan nyo na lang...

May mga nakikita ako baguhan, when I tell them to learn rudiments they say "Maya na, kailangan ko gumaling sa set muna"

Bro it's not advisable to hit cymbals directly on their edge. See #1 here. Newbies tend to think "anything goes" pagdating sa pagpalo ng cymbals.
