ang lakas sa resources ng mga programs na gagamitin mo... i suggest upgrade mo yung ram ng laptop mo to 4gb at the very least... usually kasi vista ang nakalagay sa laptop eh and make sure it's 64bit vista...  and sobrang bilis mapuno ng harddrive mo nyan sa premiere, photoshop at cad mo... so dapat atleast 250gb ang hd mo jan... and i can see that you're planning to play some games too... games usually takes up 10gb-20gb easily and mejo don't expect the games to played at high settings...

 it doesn't matter wat brand you get na laptop pare pareho lang laman niyan sa loob basta mapagkakatiwalaan ang brand... wag yung mga kung ano anong brand lang...

or better yet get a desktop... hehe! mas maganda ang work flow mo...  :-) you can get a mid-hi end range na malakas desktop with your budget...
ayos!

@powerchord41

@kozki

for 40k you can get a more or less high end CPU na bry, both good for gaming as well as production. i use 3D programs din like Autocad, Revit, and 3D Studio Max.

i recently assembled a CPU worth 30k, with a 4-core processor, 2GB RAM, a mid-range GPU, 250GB HDD, plus the works. add a few thousand nalang for a monitor, and probably more memory.

if you don't really need mobility, i dont recommend getting a laptop. parang you're paying too much for the convenience and for it being mobile, and for that much money you're not really getting anything worthwhile. :) sayang pera hehe

^tama si badonggrodigs... kasi sayang talga yung pera mo if you want performance to price ratio na sulit...

well for laptop ang pinaka magandang video card na makukuha mo will be an ati 3450 or an nvidia 8300gt in theory kasi you won't need those powerful video cards for your laptop dahil maliit lang naman monitor niyan 12-15 inches usually... but those are not made for gaming... more on para maka play ka ng hi-def stuff etc... though 1st or 2nd quarter of 2009 ati will be releasing an external video card for laptops na designed for gaming... if i'm not mistaken it will be a 3870...

just try to make room sa house ninyo... madali naman pagkasyahin ang mid-sized atx case at 19-22 inch monitor, keyboard and mouse sa isang maliit na table...

yung 35k mo malayo ang maabot sa desktop and you can get a bad ass video card for that na somewhere at midrange that performs really well like the ati 4670 or if you're an nvidia fanboy 9800gt...  pati pag nag desktop ka you can get a 500gb 32mb cache na harddrive na pasok na pasok sa budget mo...  :-)

ayos!

@badong and powerchord

pero kasi, ang habol ko sa laptop e kasi pwede kong ilagay sa kama, pwedeng dalhin sa kusina at di na makakasikip sa bahay. kasi may desktop na kami. e pag nag desktop pa ulit medyo sikip na. may nakita akong macbook cd2 http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=2725788, mukhang okay. pero ngayon talaga parang gusto kong magdesktop na lang. hehe. kung desktop, what would you recommend? budget is 35k (for desktop).

i'd lose the 1TB HDD and the 22" LCD, replace em with lower specs, and upgrade the processor to Phenom X4, and the GPU to 512mb 256bit.

^Pwede ren.

You can tweak it to your liking. Obviously I tweaked it for porn downloading/viewing.  :-D

Also some people might benefit more from a faster-clocked 2-core than a slower-clocked 4-core. Until software optimised for 4-core become mainstream, I'd still stick to a faster-clocked 2-core.

Pero within the next 2 years kung a-assemble ako ng next PC ko, Core i7 na siguro. 4-cores na hyper-threaded = 8 threads all in all!  :evil:  By then kasi, written software would've caught up with 4-core processors already.

no need for porn collection. hehe. marami na ako nyan at di ko na kailangan dagdagan pa :D so i think i'd settle for badong's idea. anyway, salamat sa inyo.. mga buwishet kayo nasira plano ko para sa laptop. hahahaha. pero salamat. :D

I you'll settle for Phenom X4, make sure you pick a motherboard that supports it.

and i'd scrap the ASUS mobo and replace it with an EMAXX that supports AMD Quadcore procys...kung di kaya ng budget, buy the Mobo and a Dualcore...upgrade later pag may budget na...at least wala ka na problem sa pag upgrade ng mobo dahil ready na sya for Quadcores...

yung monitor ok na yung LG..for 9k, i'd say it's really cheap..its Samsung and Viewsonic counterparts are priced at around 13-14k...

yeah, this was my main argument (to myself) before i picked the quad core. i thought, since i'll mainly be dealing with programs that can utilize 4 cores, then i'd go with it.

i recommend PCGILMORE. kinda cheaper prices there, and the tech support is awesome. just tell them you're assembling a PC and they'll help you based on your budget, and need. :)

forgot the name of the guy there tho, he was super helpful when i went there.

and yeah, they take credit card, tho it's a bit more expensive.

webcam - 700
seagate 1TB sata - 6100

makakatipid ako ng 8150.

mas okay ba emaxx sa asus? btw, checked the price of ATI RADEON HD8450 512mb/256bit UV iceQ with freebie 8.7k yung ATI radeon HD4850 Sonic 512mb (dual heatpipe cooler O.C. edition) naman ay 8.4k.
which would you choose?

@badong
check ko sa pcgilmore siguro bukas. :)
