i dont think they are that bad ... OK, im lying, that one vocalist there is so bad but at least, he makes a good conversation starter ("see that guy? he's there to call the gay men and matrona's right?" ... and before you know it, you already have a conversation, or insult slinging, whatever you call it...).

its really hip to hate for "musicians" to hate cueshe.

i have to admit though, cueshe knows when to dish out cheesy melodies that make you wanna sing along. in a way, i dont like cueshe's image, but i dont hate their chord progressions or tone - its a bit simple, so what? I have a song that has 1 chord  (i just played on the dynamics). does a song need to be technically difficult to be good? NOT! ... (although i really dont like Kamikazee, for some reason... maybe if i hung out with them, i wont hate them).

there are times that miles davies gets me to sleep (most of the time really, i  am not a jazz person), and times like id rather listen to simple chord stuff like New Found Glory or slayer's South of Heaven.

I'd pick the track 'ULAN'. Intro (okey ung phased patch).

A section : the verse (irregularly metered but not to Zappa proportions-God forbid) contains a melody so linear and devoid of movement na hindi mo alam, babalik na pala ng intro.

B section: new melody line, pero wala pa ring nangyari.

Guitar solo to the rescue.

Hayaan na natin na yung lalalala sa huli ay cloned sa Beautiful Ones ng BLUR.

I'd say the 'catchy' nowadays is anything that gets the large amount of radio airplay courtesy of you know who.

If PIDO's well crafted songs had the same frequent airplay, hahanapin din ng tao yun.

Now, I saw them perform a social issue titled 'DELUBIO' sa Jessica Soho yata yun sa GMA. Totoo, walang halong bias, the song didn't go anywhere too.

Point is - credit to where its due. All this marketing and hyping fool the ears.
