generic reso head for my snare
« Reply #54 on: September 12, 2006, 12:32:06 PM »
masters,

is it ok to use the generic reso head na available sa raon
for my snare? yun yung mga walang brand or sometimes
regal ang nakalagay.

i'm using remo amdassador for my batter.

how much ba clear sound controlled ng remo for snare?

thanks
i'm just a simple person who really loves music.

Gano kayo kadalas mgtono ng snare???
« Reply #55 on: October 17, 2006, 02:26:32 AM »
My snare gets out of tuned verry often, the lug near the rim shot area always becomes loose to the point that I can remove it with my fingers...

does this happen to you also? if so how can I prevent it? does it help if I put plastic washers?

i've never experienced that, pero baka loose thread na yung lug and/or tension rod pag over tightened sya. or baka finger tight lang yung sikip, try tightening it further. try mo lang.

personally, i treat my snare like a guitar. i tune it almost each time i play it. but its more of 'fine tuning' it for the moment whilst major tuning where i take time to on both sides are done only once in a while.  'just my practice, i dunno if everyone here does it regularly like i do, but i know a lot who does.

i have the same problem...

Nail polish.

whew... kala ko ako lang yung tono ng tono dito....

yes I agree, treat it like a guitar and tune it often... 1 slight turn and the over all sound noticably changes... I like my snare fat and low kase...

so any 1 tried rubber/plastic washers? does it work?

Hahaha nice one Dindin!!   :-D

My current snare drum head set-ups:

5.5"x14" Tama Starclassic Maple snare drum:
BATTER: Evans Genery Dry coated
RESONANT: Evans Snare Side 300

Note: I plan to use Evans G1 coated on my next drumhead change, for a more open and more natural sound.

5"x13" Tama Artwood Maple snare drum:
BATTER: Remo Ambassador coated
RESONANT:  Evans Snare Side 300

Note: I prefer using Evans G1 head; kaya lang no stock, kaya nag-Remo Ambassador muna ako.
