Hi, iam new in recording. Iam planning to buy an M-audio Fast track Usb, and it has ableton live lite 5 included in the package of m-audio. Ok ba un Ableton Live 5 lite for home recording? I just want to have recordings of my bands new-songs para madali mabuo ng band un new song at mapakinggan and para ma-edit and can i make drum tracks w/ ableton too? thnx

Ableton Live is a phrase looper; it works on the pattern sequencing principle so it's pretty easy to build up a song from patterns. I'm not sure about linear recording, though. It's pretty much set up for recording clips.

ah ok. thnx a lot. so i could record the whole guitar part w/ metronome and vocals. then add a simple drum track from ableton live. cause iam also trying to figure out how to use sonar4 PE but its mind boggling at this time. thnx for the info

ableton live can do the linear thing too, i think its fine for what you are trying to do

teka, yung toneport ko, it came with Ableton as well. Do you have to fully purchase the product, kasi naka-lock yung ibang functions ng Ableton.

its a bundled software kaya lock ibang features. you really need to purchase one. Its just like my firewire mixer that has a bundled cubase le. i had to purchase an sx3 upgrade just to have more than 4 tracks simultaneous recording.
