Up ko toh! Curious tlga ako dati sa DOD especially their Preamp OD-250 and Supra Distortion and I really want to have one before but I never got the chance to buy and try those pedals or any other DOD pedals. If many would post positive on the DOD, I might buy in the future. :)

heres what i have tried so far with dod

dod deathmetal=ok sya pero yun nga ingay. tapos masarap gamitin rin sa bass kung tipong gusto mo medyo synth yung dating.

dod grunge=masarap rin. was quite satisfied with it.

dod bass grunge=well mahirap gamitin sya sa bass kung gusto mo malinis yung sound. kumbaga preamp. but it sounds good also on guitartoo if you want something with low ends. its fun to on the guitar specially for those chugs.

dod bi-fet preamp=well its a good preamp. simple to use. we currently use one in the studio for direct to mixer instrument recordings.

yung dod preamp=its quite similar to the mxr dist+ with some slight difference. the mxr's advantage i believe is the ability to stand alone.

one thing i did not like about dod is the early versions have different plugs compared to boss, ibanez etc. plus dod has a positive center instead of the usual negative center. the later versions however have same jacks like the ones on boss but still are on positive center.

I have an FX22 (The Vibro-Thang). It's a nice vibrato/phase that produce useful sounds and that are "organic" enough.  Kaso lang, medyo tone-sucker... it rolls off some low end (like any other Boss or DOD pedal, actually).  Other than that, ayus siya.

DOD pedals ive tried:

*DOD Death Metal = i swear by it, if and only if onlt theres a noise gate around. it sounds a lot better on bass than on guitar.

*DOD Grunge = just like DOD death BUT has a gain control, in the expense of the 'mid' control.

*DOD Attacker = compressor + distortion in one. do you like april boy and renz verano guitar solos? ... i traded this for a tuner.

*DOD American Metal = distortion + delay. what do you get from that? ... half baked delay and half baked distortion.

*DOD Metal X = remember boss hyper metal? .. yep! this is the one.

*DOD Octaver = doesnt track right. worth it if its 1K ...

-*-

i am generally hesitant on DOD pedals ... they are flimsy and you need a special jack for the adapter.

DOD is only worth it if its cheaper than Boston...

No. I've owned (as opposed to tried) several DOD pedals in the past and they've served me well. Although the switch and battery cover are still the weakest links in their line of pedals, I don't think that they're inferior from a tone perspective. Those who whine about having to have a different jack for the power supply can just learn how to solder and make a plug for your DOD pedals.

I'd rather be sharp than flat.

i used to own this when i was with wickermoss, naging trademark sound ko nga yun e sa sobrang ganda nya sa tenga ko oks lang sakin yung trade off sa tone sucking, gusto ko nga magkaroon ulit nito.  benta mo ba sayo sir?

Haha... dein man. Na-compensate ko na (somewhat) yung tone-sucking with a Microamp clone. Pero who knows? Baka magsawa ako dito (hindi naman ako gitarista sa banda eh, hehehe).

Pero tama ka, medyo unique nga yung sound niya, since combination siya ng tremolo and phaser. Supposedly raw parang rotating speaker emulation, pero for me it just sounds cool.

DOD peds na na-try ko na:

- DOD FX40 Graphic EQ: just as a normal 7-band equa... does the job well.
- DOD FX17 Wah/Volume: oks na oks yung wah sound; still keeping this dahil versatile, and more compact...... tapos tweakable daw yung sweep nya (haven't tried it yet)...
- DOD FX86 Death Metal: kulet ng labels ng mga pots (pain, rip...), noisy sya, pero hanep sa gain! pwede naman mapa-mod siguro para maalis yung ingay...
- DOD FX55-B Supra Distortion: super noisy din! as in....

I wanna try other DOD pedals, like the famous preamp/overdrive, tsaka yung YJM pedal (compare ko 'yung dalawa); pati yung American metal, chaka Grunge.....

they're owned by Digitech now i believe

but before the merger, DOD's were all MIA diba? (and they're priced cheap for a MIA product! kaya siguro nabenta sa Digitech hehe)

Bitter-sweet experience ko sa DOD pedals e.

Anyway, yung first DOD ko was a Metal X. Hated the noise, hated the switch, hated the looks... Bakit ko ba binili to?!?! Engot moment lang siguro.

Yung second was a YJM308. Ganda naman. Was my favorite boost pedal bago dumating yung time na nainis ako kasi wala siyang LED. Merong mga engot moments minsan na "ooops, naka-on pala..." Kaso for the sound, sarap niya. Inis lang talaga yung power supply. Minor annoyance, kaso workable naman.

Kaso nadala na ko sa DOD's e. Though nice yung sound for the price, medyo maarte ako sa durability ng gamit e. Though highly recommended ko yung YJM308 at DOD 250. Pakabit na lang kayo ng LED. Kung trip nyo. :-D
