Fuzz uses?

(1/6) > >>

lovecore:
Pardon the noob question but what are the typical styles, sounds, uses for a fuzz pedal?

I'm an OD type of guy but I might just be missing out since I don't have a fuzz pedal. Really interested.

Any clarifications, help, tips, advice would be really helpful as I'm really clueless. I've heard fuzz demos and I'm curious as to what styles usually employ using one  :-)

Since your question is about the usual / typical styles that employ fuzz pedals, 'di kita sasagutin ng "kahit ano naman style mo you can use anything, it's up to you." :)

Fuzz pedals are commonly heard in classic rock styles (ex. Jimi Hendrix, The Who), stoner rock (ex. Kyuss, Fu Manchu, QOTSA), doom metal (ex. Orange Goblin), psychedelic rock (ex. Pink Floyd).

Some less typical examples would be grunge bands who are known for using fuzz like Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney, and Soundgarden.

Brit-pop bands din like Blur and Radiohead ma-fuzz.

Hope that helps.

Hendrix.
Pumpkins.
Best examples of fuzz na nag 'mainstream'.

A good and cheap start would be the Mighty Boss FZ2. Can cover some Hendrix and a ton of Smashing Pumpkins.
