alisin mo lahat ng plastic parts kalasin mo lahat ng parts as in lahat (pati spring ng lugs) lihahin mo maigi tanggalin mo rough spots linisin mo with soap and water para maalis yung kalawang, oil at iba pang dumi tapos punas para matuyo
wag mo pa coat ang throw off unless kaya mong kalasin yung cover wag mo pa coat yung thread ng tension rod wag mo pa coat yung threaded inserts ng lugs

Kung akin yung drum na yan, I would keep it that way. Mukhang makintab at maayos pa naman yung metal. Sayang yung chrome plating. Ika nga nila... If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
But it's your drum, bro! You can do whatever you want to do with it. White shell and black metal parts are always a nice combination... Reminds me of Vinnie's Signature Gretsch kit and Lars' old Tama kit.

Anyway, that's just me. I love chrome. I love how it shines and how classy it looks, and it will never go out of style. And I don't mind the constant wiping. As long as I do my part and maintain it properly, it will stay beautiful for years.
Oo nga pala... before refinishing any metal (powdercoating, re-plating, etc), diba kailangan munang bakbakin yung old finish or plating? Dapat yung pinaka-metal mismo ang patungan? Paging paolo/peeves...

yup dapat talaga bakbakin kaya lang walang nagbabakbak dito. sandblasting ang method na ginagamit nila para ma strip yung plating pero wala ako alam na shop na may ganung facility e.
so far so good, yung chrome steel snare ko naman in good condition pa rin, no sign of chipping or bubbles since i had it coated last year
UPDATE nov 3, 2008
merong sandblasting shop sa may east service road after sucat (kung galing ng makati). anne louis metal plating yung pangalan nung shop. bali between sucat and alabang sya.

i have memory lapses every now and then so im excused for being senile and not mentioning this before. i do believe i wrote about the 1 color per day scheme on some thread before.
i also remembered just now that my snare shell was brought somewhere in antipolo. i believe their driver was going and they were doing blue that day at the same time they were doing white in mandaluyong. i got the snare shell and all my hardware the same day. i did have to come back before closing coz the driver wont be back by then.
now that i mentioned it, i didnt ask them where in antipolo it was

i dont know about the tape used in pinstriping. it might not withstand the oven temperatures

in my humble personal opinion, i wouldnt do that if i were you eventhough the thought of it seems so brilliant and spectacular, i would much rather keep it in its OEM state. so that when i resell it, its still in its orig factory spec. i actually rewrapped my entire kit using vinyl wraps over the green (yuck imho, bought it 2nd hand eh no choice) OEM wrap but i could always take it off with ease or would leave the succeeding owners the option of removin it to reveal its orig wrap or keep the new wrap na lang for the mean time.
but its your call man, if you're goin to take the dive, make sure pantay and clean yung polish/varnish. no dust particles, no wavy uneven varnishing etc....teka my concern is baka the varnish might seep into the wood kasi nga exposed wood nga pala sya and walang wrap..hmmm this might have some effect sa sound. off the top of my head it could dampen the sound, im not sure though but imagine what a wet wood could do.
ask around pa, take your time, then decide.

hey franco, i picked em up when i went to this custom drum show in holland early this year and they had a lot of finish wraps, thin or thick, vinyl or plastic or metal-like, wood-like on there..it was drum spares heaven. i just got what i can afford.
you can check out this links for suppliers of drum wraps:
mga sir, meron ako matte finish n drums, ask ko lgn po kung pwede ko pa-varnish ung set para lacquer finish n sya. dun ko ipagawa sa mga gumagawa ng mga furnitures, ung de-compressor. di po b magbabago tunog nun? and ok lng ba? suggestions nmn po. tnx! :-D
mas maganda ipagawa sa auto paint shop bro, urethane pabuga mo para matigas at mabilis matuyo. tipid pa kasi less coats. magbabago tunog nun for the worse kasi kung di maingat yung gagawa, baka magkadent sa bearing edge o kaya naman magkaron ng build up ng pintura sa edge at di na maging even. its advisable to recut the edges after refinishing.
IMHO, mas durable ang wraps kesa lacquer/urethane finish kaya hindi ko na gagalawin yun

unang una, wala kang maririnig na difference kapag pininturahan mo sya. di naman din kagandahan ang drums natin para gawing natural finish sya. sasakit balikat mo sa kakaliha nung shell. malamang sa tama ako na hindi pantay pantay ang kulay ng shells ng drums mo :-D e di pangit na agad yun kahit pa dark varnish gamitin mo.

but seriously, yung mga nakikita mong pintura sa mga dingding sa mga classy restaurants o hotels yung parang may base color tapos may mist ng ibang kulay, nagmumukhang kahoy yung sa texture ng paint, pwede mo rin ipagawa yun sa drums mo. di ko nga lang alam kung magkano. pero it's way better than going natural finish with uneven wood patterns.

ayos kayang gawing 2-tone german leather yung wrap tapos lalagyan ng flame pinstriping. yung sa tom holder lalagyan din 10" LCD screen na nakakabit sa dvd player na clamped sa cymbal stand. then merong 100000 watt speakers sa likod ng drummer para monitor nya o kaya pwede sya magpapatugtog dun tapos sabayan nya ng palo. ok din na merong magic sing just in case gusto nya mag wiggle-me-bum. hmmm ano pa ba?
aaahhh gulong at makina para tumakbo din yung drums :-D

youre welcome bro drumster, i hope you guys like it, i love spinnin it myself, reminded me of the roleta of yakult in kwarta o kahon...the ddrum rep said they used a real 22 inch wheel for that, i noticed din the spinner itself of the brand 'chopper'. they make the spinner wheel/cap portion for the mags, u can buy em separately, around 8-10k a piece. the ddrum kit cost like a sonor sq2 6-pc kit, 700k php.

i wrapped my kit last may and i should say it turned out perfectly fine naman. i would suggest that you go for re-wrappin your kit rather than repaintin or varnishin it. saves u the hassle and time. easy peazy lemon squeazy. it took me a day to finish wrappin my entire kit...thanks to an electric screwdriver and an evans electric screw driver tension key.

bro killua, try mo gamitan ng pang wallpaper! yung mei adhesive.. nabibili sa SM hardware, yung nakabalot na tigti-3 meters ata yun? pili ka nlng ng design.. pambalot sa shells.. ganun ginawa ko sa stock steel snare fernando ko nun eh.. mukha daw sig series.. wala lang! share ko lang!

Tip lang bro. Be careful sa pag alis ng wrapping and make sure na walang matitirang adhesive residue sa shells. Matinding liha ang gagawin mo dyan. Kung may mahihiraman ka ng belt sander, mas ayos yun at mabilis. Pero final finishing touches dapat kamay pa rin. Make sure smoother grain na sandpaper ang gamiitin mo for final touches. Wou might want to use/experiment with woodstain and top coat of varnish. Goodluck!

i've sent them an email requesting for small actual samples of 3 choices of mine, namely: oak burl, south american rosewood, and walnut burl. i hope they will send me some soon so i could decide. but for sure this will be a project that i will accomplish next year na lang. kasi i have just applied a new wrap to my kit recently which i really am happy about. pero at least may reserve ako na wrap. thanks ulit kimboy

id think twice though about using veneers. ordering abroad is risky, veneers are so fragile im afraid they'll never get to you in good condition plus shipping will be huge. when i order my veneers from cagayan de oro, they come sandwiched between 1/4" plywood, imagine having something that big shipped by dhl, fedex, ups. not cheap.
you can get exotic veneers at magellan located at pasong tamo extension makati. burls, bird's eye maple and exotic veneers start at 35k per 8x4 sheet. i have their samples at home.
then if you think application is easy, think thrice. veneers are prone to bubbles. unless you are using superfast drying glue, you need a vacuum bag to apply even pressure on the shell while it dries. fast drying glue is unforgiving, there will be no time to correct slanted veneers.
so assuming you went ahead and successfully applied the veneers on your kit, you still have to apply a top coat to them. sand a little, use sanding sealer, sand again and repeat till satisfied. apply clear coat and sand and repeat till you are :-D
im not really discouraging you guys...its just more practical to buy a new kit than use veneers...then again its just me :-)

mahal yung veneers na yan. hindi ko pa din tpos ung 13" tom na idadagdag ko. mamasilyahahn ko siya sa sunday para makinis ang effect pagpininturahan ko na. tapos kelangan ko na ata magpasadya o magpatimpla ng paint sa uyco para mahabol yung finish ng drums ko na may pagkametallic. pero kahit ganon tingin ko sulit naman siya. kahit di pa ako gaano marunong magdrums gusto ko maging 8 piece kit yung akin. yung floor tom ok na pintura na lang ang aantayin nun. ipost ko dito yung itsura pagnatapos. malamng next year mga 1st week january. excited na ako! can't wait! :lol: :lol: :lol:

sa puregold makati may nakita akong 3D wraps ibat ibang design. kaya lang masyadong manipis at hindi durable. siguro mas maganda kung spray mo pa ng clear coat sa ibabaw for added protection
sa divisoria naman meron din plain wraps nga lang 36.50 per meter. last time i was there they have white and black.
di kasi effective yung pylox eh...natatanggal lang
i beg to disagree, its very effective and very easy to apply too when you know how. the only problem is that its much much more expensive

^^^ yung mga lumang drums contact cement ang gamit (rugby dito sa tin) na pangdikit. pwede ring high bond double sided tape. hindi yung nabibili sa national bookstore ha, sa malaking hardware meron nun.
kaw lang makakasagot sa tanong mo kung gano karami kailangan
per drum:
20 diameter x 16 deep
20*3.1416 = ____ length na kailangan mo + 2" inches overlap pa of course 16" inches yung width
do the same for the other drums
add them all then convert to meters

Part of refinishing is to have the metal cleaned of rust and someone suggested powdercoating from a previous thread.

^ dami pang design. actually mas maganda pa yung walang adhesive, mas makapal. clear paint? lacquer ba yun? di ko sure pero di ko na nilagyan yung sakin, manipis lang yung wrap na to parang sticker lang kasi.

@batangdramista - sir ako lang gumawa nyan :-D dali lang, parang nagkakabit ka lang ng tint ng kotse. i spent 390 pesos on the vinyl wrap w/ adhesive (2 meters yun) tapos 99 pesos sa flat black paint (for the bass hoops). iready mo lang cutter, mister (yung pang spray ng halaman na mga bonsai) with water and dishwashing liquid, t-square or anything long na pwedeng guide ng cutter, and tape measure. tanggalin mo muna yung lahat ng hardware pati yung logo ng kit mo, then linisan mo ng pledge and pranela/pamunas yung lumang wrap (in my case kasi sticker-like yung niwrap ko, di ko na tinggal yung dati) para walang bubbles. measure the sizes of the toms, bass etc. tapos sobrahan mo ng 1inch then cut the vinyl wrap with the measurement of the shells. pag ok na, spray mo ng mister w/ water and dishwashing liquid yung lumang wrap pati yung adhesive side ng vinyl wrap bago mo idikit. after madikit, alisin mo lang yung mga bubbles with your hands or anything smooth. that's it! half-day ko lang ginawa yan :-D madali lang considering na moody ako pagdating sa kasipagan hehe! pag ma-wrap mo na yung kit mo post mo lang :wink:

it doesn't matter how colored, bold and simple designs you want, we're computing it by area. so make it colorful. :-D

kung 4pc yung forum series mo, 2 meters will do pag 5pc kuha ka ng 2.5 meters. yung width kasi nung vinyl with adhesive is 48 inches, bale ang kukunin mo for a 5pc. forum series will be 48" x 2.5 meters. kung talagang ayaw mo na yung stock wrap mo, better get the thick vinyl or pvc wraps. walang adhesive yun kaya kelangan mo ng rugby, pero for sure walang bubbles or alon yung wrap. sakin kasi pinatungan ko lng yung lumang wrap para pag gus2 ko ibalik sa dati nyang itsura, madali na lng gawin.

1. ok magpa-powder coat, matibay according sa iba kahit puro ka rim shot hindi nagchichip off yung paint... so aun ok cya.
2. yung sticker at logo na nsa drums mo pwede mo tangalin yan hehehe balik mo nalang pagkatapos mo palitan ng wraps tulad ng ginawa ng madaming nagpalit na ngwraps dito sa pinoydrums, me included.
OT: ala ba tugtugan sa EA ngayon? gusto ko dumalaw minsan hehehe

peeves may nakita din ako sa sm southmall na vinyl with adhesive yun nga lang 195 per meter. may natripan akong isang magandang finish dun so bumili na ko ng 2 meters, sakto sa 4pc na 14x5.5 snare, 12x10 tom, 16x16 floor tom and 20x16 na bass. nasa internet shop lang ako ngayon, di ko nadala yung lumang pics nya pero ganito itsura nya dati (not the actual pic)

na try mo na sa lazer bro? usually meron silang screws for lugs, tension rods at kung ano ano pa, at mura dun...

what other materials would you suggest for drum wrapping?
wala kasing nagmamarket ng drum wrap locally.
may idea kasi ako and the materials and method is: possible ba?
1. yung plasic na clear na ginagamit sa tarapal ng jeep/owner/tricycle ( di ba medyo makapal yon?) 2. paint the single side of the plastic with bottled spray paint or compressor with spray gun ng gusto nyong color. 3. patuyuin then cut or pwedeng cut nyo muna yung sukat na sakto saka nyo pinturahan.
baka kasi meron pa kayong idea. share naman.

kasama cya sa vinyl wraps na nkikita natin sa Ace hardware... pero sa Ace SM north ko pa lang nakita tong chrome wrap... di ko lang sure sa iba... dalawang klase yung chrome wrap sa Ace... yung isa parang sparkle finish.. (dehins ko trip) yung isa is yung plain chrome ( the I got.. :D )

madali lang sir un gamitan mo ng spray na may sabon para dumulas ung bubbles swipe mo ung bubbles at kung meron mga tiny bubbles tusokin mo ng karayom tapos swipe mo ulit :-D
sa ace hardware megamall ko nabili tong akin meron nga don ung parang plastic na laminate. :-D

ok lang na iwan mo ung old wrap nya as long as pantay cya, most problematic area dito is yung sa lug area, minsan kasi mejo angat yung wrap dun. Just make sure na pantay ang paglapat mo ng vinyl para walang bubbles

heres my fernando snare that i worked with. di ko nagustuhan yung silver wrap nya kaya i decided to take it out. clean up the sticky material the double sided tape left then painted it with epoxy primer tapos tsaka ko binalot ng black leatherette material i got from some document holder. napagtripan ko lang pero heres the end result.

susubukan ko yung ace vinyl wrap pagdating nung drums ko galing kay peeves... apple green na murang version muna kinuha ko para subukan lang muna tapos siguro yung flat black na mahal na version yung gamitin kong final.

mga bro question lang - kung lalagyan ko ng bagong wrap yung drums ko, ang papalitan ko ng ISS mount yung original tom mount, necessary ba na takpan yung mga butas na maiiwan ng old tom mount (lalagyan ng wood filler/putty) before lagyan ng wrap? o ok lang na ikabit yung wrap kahit butas pa yung shell?

Tapos yung tension rods pinalitan ko na din kasi kinain na ng kalawang ang mga thread ng old rods. The rest were just polished. Matrabaho mag restore bro pero pag tinitingnan ko yung before and after pics it makes me think that it's all worth it!

I spent 1.5K for the lugs, 190 for the tension rods, 115 for the vinyl wrap. Bought the hardware sa lazer. Medyo napamahal kasi yung lugs cost 130 each pero merong tig 75 lang. Mas makakamura ka kung sa Raon ka bibili. I just didn't have the time to go there kaya pinatos ko na yung sa lazer.
What do you mean lubog na lubog? When I did this project I planned not to take off the original wraps. However the original wraps of my tom had uneven surfaces on it na mahirap mapantay yung vinyl wrap if I applied it on top of the original wrap. What i did was to take off the original wrap then nilinis ko lang yung wood surface para mawala yung residue nung former adhesive.
The downside of what I did is that the screws that came with the lugs were meant to be place on drums na makapal ang wrap. Those vinyl wraps that can be bought at Ace hardware are thinner sheets almost paper thin. So as a result the lugs were loosely screwed. I compensated it by adding additional washers on the inside of the drum which turned out fine. Another downside on removing the original wraps is that you have less protection for the shells of the drum since manipis nga yung vinyl. So magiging mas prone yung shells mo sa dents and gasgas kung hindi ka maingat. Kung pwede naman talaga na hindi tanggalin yung original wraps I would rather not take it off.
Its really just my first time to do this so most of my comments are based on this single experience. Backread ka nalang and do more research. Try to ask those people who are more experrienced sa ganitong projects. Hope nakatulong ako kahit papaano.

synthetic leather, leatherette lang talaga nakikita kong tawag nila sa mga fashion magazine (aaayy titaaaa!). ginagamit din sa mga seat cover at mga bag na pambabae.
basta along juan luna st lang yun, going to recto. kung galing ka ng mcdo, tatawid ka ng tulay, lalampas sa ka firestation tapos tumingin ka na sa kaliwa't kanan kasi sunod sunod na yung mga tindahan dun. kasama nung bilihan ng mga tela. makikita mo naman sa labas nila na maraming naka roll na parang cover ng lamesa.

Compared to leatherette I think the answer is yes. But it all boils down to how you take care of your drums. I think kahit yung vinyl gamitin mo as long as you handle them right tatagal naman. But like any replaceable part it will still undergo natural wear and tear. Check out mo nalang pareho bro and compare para hindi ka magsisi. Medyo matrabaho ang mag re-wrap. Para isang pagod nalang.

bumalik ako sa ace kasi naubusan ako ng pandikit sabi ng sales man formica daw makapal sya at medyo matigas dont use gunting kasi mag cra-crak sya use cutter para mas malinis, parang ply wood din sya na sobrang nipis pati yung pinag putulan parang saw dust ng kahoy
bendable naman sya at pwede kahit sa 10 inch na tom use d standar na glue for formica available din yung adhesive sa ace gamit din po kau ng wood clamp to hold it down medyo matagal kasi mag set yung adhesive nya
for me i let it settle for 24 hours
nga pala sa ace san fernando ko sya na bili sa bandang likod P750 6feet by 5 feet P250 for the adhesive d ko lang sure kung nag bago na ang presyo ngayon maraming available na wood finish i'm not sure about sparkle finish kung meron @kimpoy19 d ko sure sir kung pwede mag specify ng size one size kasi lahat 6feet by 5feet at ganun na nila binebenta halos kasya na yun sa isang 5pc na kit
maganda yung feel nya pag na apply na kahoy na kahoy ang feeling
tyaga lang sa pag wrap kasi its not dat easy as vinyl, gumamit pa ko ng barena para lang butasan yung pag dadaanan ng mga screw

di ako sure kung pwede sa shells ang powdercoat...usually sa mga steel snare lang nakikita kong powder coated...mga metal lang or chrome...if ever man pwedeng ipapowdercoat ang shells sobrang mahal nun..at mabilis cya mabakbak pag natamaan ng metal object like stands etc. Same goes with vinyl pag nakabalot sa mga shells, advisable na ingatan nyo sya maigi matamaan ng mga pointed objects kasi natatapyas cya since thin layer lang ito.

meron sila 600 pesos per 8x4 laminates. mas durable kesa sa mga nabibili sa ace at mas maraming choices. special na nakita ko yung aluminum kung gusto nyo bigyan ng metallic finish yung drums kaya lang 2500 sya.
nagpapahanap din ako ng sparkle finishes, sana meron sila makuhang source.

long nose pliers lang pang alis ko dun sa eyelets. masisira na yun pag inalis mo. walang nabibili na ganun kalaki dito e pero merong mas maliit sa divisoria (ginagamit sa sinturon)
may nabibiling substitute dito nun pero yari sa 2 pieces. madalas ginagamit sa mga tarpaulin para kabitan ng tali. meron ako sa bahay, kunan ko ng pic bukas.
pwede ring takpan na lang yung butas para hindi mo na problemahin. walang epekto yun sa tunog.
oo kakapit yung powder coat sa chrome basta malinis. babad mo muna sa tubig na may sabong panlaba para maalis yung oily particles. rinse and wipe dry

Powder coating lessens shell vibration making it less resonant.

sinubukan ko pinturahan yung steel snare ko na fernando. tamang excited pako na feeling ko nagpipintura ako ng kotse tulad nung sa mga discover turbo. hassle d kumapet yung pintura. naliha ko naman na yung buong shell. sayang yung mga spray paint na binili ko.

masasabi ko lang mahal...
kung pipinturahan mo lang din yun kit mo, papaint mo na lang sa mga car body shops. sisingilin ka siguro mga 2k to 3k para sa 3 toms at kick. mas maganda at mas durable ang gagamitin nilang paint (polyurethane) kesa sa mabibili mo na spray cans.
kung gusto mo magspray can, maraming prep ang kailangan mong gawin. maglagay ng primer sa lahat ng shell. tapos kailangan mo pakinisin ng husto yung outer layer with putty and a lot of sanding. tapos first color coat...kick drum pa lang 2 cans na agad para sa first coat. more than 2k ang magagastos mo sa mga spray cans kasi kailangan mo ng at least 10 to 20 coats of clear coat. matrabaho at kung di mo alam ginagawa mo, masasayang pa pera mo.
tapos ang lacquer cans kasi hindi natutuyo agad. umaabot ng 6 months bago tumigas yung paint. kaya kapag nagmadali ka hawakan ng madiin yung shell kapag ibabalik mo na yung lugs, babakat pa rin fingerprints mo sa paint.
dont paint metal parts. powder coat is the only durable solution.

sir peeves, ayos lang ba kung niliha ko hanggang maging smooth ung shell tapos ipaint ko na agad ung PYLOX spray paint ko? or talagang required na may primer? sorry kung noob question. experiment lang :) salamat!

primer not required but it will be more expensive on your part...
kapag walang primer, sisipsipin lang ng kahoy yung coats mo kaya mas maraming coats (marami ding cans) ang gagawin mo para kumapal at masaturate yung wood. isa pa, hindi kasi maganda ang kapit ng lacquer spray sa wood. mababakbak lang agad yung coatings mo kapag walang primer.
meron ka din naman mabibili na pylox primer na spray can. use primers to save money and time.

anu bang mangyayare kung hindi spray paint ang gagamitin sa lugs and hoops? tsaka magkakanu ba yung powder coating sa mandaluyong?

powdercoating is a whole lot tougher than spray cans. wala pa atang 5 pesos per lug.
dati 500+ nagastos ko sa 1 bass drum, 2 toms at 1 snare sa powdercoat.
kung bibili ka ng primer, color coat at clear coat na spray can e 350+ magagastos mo pero mababakbak agad yun sa unang palo mo.

uhmm, sirs, i found a co-forumer here who is making a glitter finish for his snare drum, and i am very interested too so i am starting to make my own. is PYLOX recommended for base coat before i apply the lacquer and glitters and stuff? Pylox i believe is a lacquer too, am i right? i hope you guys can help me :) thanks a lot!
merong pylox lacquer primer. yun ang gamitin mong base, tapos apply mo na yung color na gusto mo.

alam mo hanggang ngayon hindi ko alam anong fernando ito. i bought it from JB music Fairview back in 2002. It was the only one of its kind. It had a different tom holder, wood hoops, and lugs which didn't resemble any fernando i've seen. It also did not come in a wrapped finish. It was merely painted and thinly laminated. Weird. If anyone has any info on this model, let me know. But it sounds decent naman.

haha! when i first bought it and noticed that it wasn't wrapped, i was a bit disappointed. but when i was doing this project, it was an advantage since i didn't have to remove anything.
sizes are 22x16 bass, 12,13,and 16 toms. (depth unsure) it also came with a 14"x8" wood snare (depth also unsure, but it was deeper than stock snares.)

materials. wood burl walnut veneer. got it from internet US supplier. veneer 7 CONSECUTIVE SHEETS 18 x 32.5 good for the whole drum set. cost $ 70.00 shipping $ 50.25 mas mahal dito yung veneer plywood size nasa 8k. Up for this thread :)) i dunno kung tamang dito ko to ilagay. I'm planning to make an acrylic snare drum :) I will go to MAC next week, to start with. Before I go there, what should I tell those people in MAC? I'm planning to build a 14x6.5 snare drum. I've got the hardwares and stuff. I need now the shell.
are there some things i should tell those people who will make the acrylic shell? how thick? are there issues with the diameter of the snare? hmmm questions that need answers :)

for your thickness, anywhere between 1/4-1/2 inch if they have any thinner than that nakakatakot na baka mabasag lang agad. outer diameter of the shell should be as close to 14inches as possible.
kapag may shell ka na, pagawan mo na ng snare bed, bearing edges etc, hindi ginagawa ng MAC ito.
Bro pasabay naman patanong ng 6inch outer diameter na shell if magpunta ka :)

usually mejo maliit cya sa size, yung 14" is actually 13 15/16 kung di ako nagkakamali sir.

sabi nila remove muna nila ang black nickel coating ng hardware tapos treat for anti rust tapos nickel coat. may 1 week na andun. post ko pics ng before and after nya pag ka kuha ko.

Dude manual ba dapat ito ginagawa? I have an orbital sander but I wonder how it should be done.
Sandblasting are done in specialty shops. They blast sand with compressed air para mas pantay yung removal ng top layer and to get to where sandpaper cannot.
Don't know where you can find one in the Philippines. Car restoration shops, perhaps?

depende kasi sa size ng shell. mirror like finish ang chrome nila dun... sa Chrome Dazzler ko dinala ang shell,lugs at rims. trusted na sila pag dating sa chroming, nickel at brass plating. wala nga lang silang brass plating services ngayon. kung standard size siguro ang shell mo which is 14x5 more than 2k siguro abutin nun for the shell rims and lugs

walang ganun. yung vinyl wraps sa ACE usually ginagamit sa mga furnitures etc.. kung gusto mo talaga ng drum wraps special order ka talaga. :x
thanks sir riff! naalala ko lang po dati parang may nakita ako nun na ginagamit pang wrap sa mga motor, di ko lang po alam kung vinyl yun pero glossy na black siya at sticker din ata :)

ganda!. can't go wrong with natural wood color. maraming pwedeng pag pilian. meron mga sticker, matt finish( not glossy), pero mukhang mahogany (reddish color). Masmadaling mapunit un, manipis....pang table-top original purpose nito...
pero meron mga sticker makapal na meron talagang grain. mas ginagamit para sa kitchen cabinets. since matt finish din sya, litaw na litaw ang newly chromed / cleaned lugs mo.

UP ko to haha. Anyway, magpapa powdercoat ako ng lugs and hoops ko. Kaso chrome sya, pearl hardwares. Kakapit kaya yung powder coat? saka san kaya may mura at cool na powdercoating services na malapit lang sa pasig? thanks bros

hindi yan powder coat. black nickel plating yan. thousand thousand yan kung meron dito - check mo sa chrome dazzler sa cubao

hehe! teka wala naman nakasulat sa shell ko na design na before at after ha? hehe,corny joke,bwhahaha! nakita ko na yung finish,ang galing magreplicate ng finish! astig pati sa bilang ng glitters! hehe at alam ko my shell is under the treatment of oil pa.hehe,hehe, medyo OT pero eto ang opration ni vinci recut ng shells taas at baba,then new bearing edges 45 degrees like pearl then replicate the finish and now it's in oil(di ko alam kung anung oil,basta hindi baby oil,hehe)treatment tapos it's ready to go! salamat vinci! inaantay ko na lang matapos at ang pambayad kooo,bwhahaha

Advisable kaya kung gagamit ng carbon fiber sticker sa drum shell....mas ok kaya kung papatungan na lang yung original wrapping or tatangalin yung original wrap as in sa mismong wood na ididikit yung carbon fiber sticker?

tanggalin mo yung wraps bro. tapos lagyan mo parin ng rugby para sure kapit sa wood yung sticker. may tendency na magkabubbles pag straight ka sa wraps nag dikit ng sticker eh.

shampoo solution lang ito sir. spray shampoo mix with water. para maalis yung bubbles. huwag mo na alisin yung wrap. hindi po kakapit yung sticker sa kahoy.

mga master, meron bang nabibiling durm air vent? Mas malinis tignan kung tatanggalin yung air vent bago lagyan ng new drum finish.
Kailangan sirain na yung air vent para matanggal.
ooopsss... kaka back read ko lang. Wala palang nabibili air vent dito. Replacement yung ginagamit daw sa tarpaulin??? yung eyelet . . . :-o (ang laki naman nun)

Kaga-galing ko lang sa Shell Canvass Buendia kanina. Ang dami nila vinyl wraps.
Assorted wood grain and metallic designs. Meron "brushed" aluminum and "brushed" gold (ang ganda at makapal).
Php 220-350 per 3ft.x4ft.
Too bad wala na daw silang "sparkle" design.
