Started by Michael Lopez around 2007, Mic@war’s music is a unique blend of styles ranging from rap metal, alternative rock, heavy metal, gothic metal and progressive metal. The sound is recognizable with catchy melody of powerful and unique raspy vocals enhance with soulful melancholic piano keyboard, distorted guitar drop downs with playful lead solos and driving rock bass and drums that was evidently shown in their sing-along yet aggressive song Hari, psychedelic/stoner-rock inspired Dahil Noon, and gloomy gothic metal song Agony.

The name was inspired by the emotions captured when a war is going on with the presence of a mic(rophone) that amplifies the screams of anger, hatred and heart wrenching sadness, the battle cry for glory and sorrow of defeat. Their songs emerge from these feelings providing the ambiance that Mic@war possessed.

Part of the success of the band relies on their mutual respect and understanding of each other's musicality and preferences. Their songs emerge from their jam sessions, musically diverse backgrounds and tastes all rolled into one.

Their gig jaunt has included numerous performances from underground venues to open-air events and even acoustic jam sets. While taking every opportunity to gig, they have been continuing honing their sound and song-writing as well as working on new materials towards their first EP.
