dude from what i read when bamboo went to states, he wanted to spend time with his family, tapos after that nag-asawa na ata sya. from what i've heard, it took major convincing to bring bamboo back to phil. i dunno if that was a cover up, wala kasi actual statement nanggaling sa kanya dati. basta bumalik na ang maya sa pinas na wala na si bamboo.

suplado yta c bamboo sa personal e... :)  mas malakas dating sakin ni bamboo kc malikot pag kumakanta pero sa crowd magaling magdala c rico... keybordist, guitarist and vocalist pa....


napanuod ko dati rivermaya ung "panahon na naman" na kinanta ni rico... c bamboo naka upo lang at nakatalikod sa stage.. hehe


pero overall, magaling clang 2....

i also agree, in short kung wala si rico wala rin si bamboo, dahil lahat ng sinulat ni rico sa mga previous album nila, si bamboo lang ang kumanta at wala siyang contribution, just to sing, pero si rico kaya niya magisa, then umabot sa 3 piece ang rivermaya, yon kaya eh kayang gawin ni bamboo

at least ang bamboo ibat ibang tunog compare sa rivermaya. mas bumoboring na ngayon ang rivermaya, hindi na crowd ang makikita mo tuwing magkoconcert sila dito. :roll:
pero peace ha!!!
gusto ko rin naman ang rivermaya :D  :lol:  :lol:  kaya lang mas magaling yung mga kasama ni bamboo sa banda lalo na yung drummer!!! :D

when i first heard rico sing (panahon na naman) i thought parang oasis...its nice to hear the guy in the background go front paminsan-minsan...then nung palagi na sya kumakanta, yung pag-gaya nya sa mga british singers medyo nakaka-irita na. pero praise to rico for always coming up with catchy stuff...promise, lahat ng kanta nya gustuhin ko man o hindi nakaka-last song syndrome.

kay bamboo...ok rin. their first album was explosive. da comeback of all comebacks....songwriting is nice too. simple but effective. they credit the songs to the whole band (bamboo) pero may hinala ako si nathan at bamboo nagsulat ng majority...they wrote nice tunes for maya dati e. medyo may konting funk & blues ang bamboo eh, mas lively, kaya if i ever had to buy a CD between the two..id get bamboo.

Well to me i dont see it as Rico Blanco vs Bamboo Manalac
To me id like to think of it as
Who would you like to be with as a band member Rico or BAmboo?
 :roll: Rico is all round man he can write, sing , compose etc
  anD baMboO to me brings up the quality of being aztig
If you listen to Rivermaya's songs A love to share, Sunday Driving its brit pop...Then comes bamboo's hallelujah and mr clay! the soaring power talaga, its shows the power..like "ako ay aztig"
Bamboo trys to do like mellow touch but it mostly ends up to rap skits..Rico on the other hand is too much i guess "Between the Stars and Waves?" oh cmon rico thats so coldplayish
241 and all the newer songs that has really slowed the toned down...But hey musical taste are higly personal..
So if i was to choose from the two i would pick Rico
Rico? hehehehehe
But i include in my prayers (well not every night) to see the old rivermaya aka 'DREAM TEAM'

we all view their music to our own perspective. bamboo and blanco r both true to their talents, but if i wer to chose, it's rico blanco for me. he's the head songwriter of rivermaya since day 1.   he's good in performing live, he can do the old rivermaya songs that bamboo sang w/a twist of his own. one of pinoy's treasured talents in music  8)

rico blanco is one of the best musicians today, he's also a very good dancer. sa itsura lng nagkatalo. joke hehe.

ang ayaw ko lng kay rico eh masyado nya ginagaya ang style ng coldplay, pero oks lng kasi gusto ko rin ang coldplay
