Actually, you guys have the power to police yourselves.

The problem lies in identifying where one is impinging on another's "freedom-of-expression", something that seems to be so little understood nowadays, as is the definition of 'morally offensive'.

Not in the slightest.

We DO our best to minimize the number of nonsense threads, and there are quite a few that leave us scratching our heads in amazement (which we eventually act on anyway), but the success of any thread depends on how many of you subscribe to it. Like I said, you also have the power to police the forum as well. If you don't like a thread, either ignore it or question it's importance in the scheme of things. If it's entirely nonsensical, it will die on it's own and will be relegated to the archives eventually.

Pareho tayo ng gustong isuggest. Tsk.

okay mods i don't wanna be rude or be mean...
but i'm just suggesting a clean forum.

like a certain classified section post must be deleted within a limited amount of days.
still right now the classifieds section is full with items which were sold months/years ago.

plus unecessary thread that have no sense should be deleted too.
certain topic reposts should be deleted too.

i know it's hard being a mod but instead of locking a thread why not delete it?
that way we can maintain this forum clean.

plus we should observe proper forum etiquette i mean i see topics that can quite be offensive to others.
therefore we should not use Vulgar words or words na bastos.
this is PhilMusic guys.
not FHM or Playboy.
if you guys wanna talk about things like that there are thousands of sites who would be happy enough to accomodate you.

hope to see your remarks.

We again get to the adage "it's hard to please everybody".

So I guess the words to live by here are "your rights end where mine begin", "mutual respect" and "live and let live".

In my observation, Philmusic has been very liberal where the tendency is to allow rather than to restrict. Which is quite good IMHO. Let each person's personality shine forth.

So there. Very basic rules, so long as nobody gets hurt, anything goes :D .  If you find anything inappropriate, just hit the "report to moderator" button and we'll weigh and see if we can do something about it.

I've been deleting sold items, and am deleting at least a page per day off the old ads back in 2007 since Aug.

hi folks! maybe the mods already have thought about this. why not delete those very old topics from the boards? especially in the classifieds section. sold, retracted and locked threads might be better off deleted.

i understand that the mods have their day jobs too like us. deleting hundreds if not thousands of old threads is not an easy task.

cheers! more power to philmusic!

not really the locked threads...

some of them are too controversial and popcorn-inducing to delete...the "eps" thread, for instance...

but yes, there are a lot of NONSENSE threads, particularly in Relationships, that are better off deleted.   :|

i agree with you, maybe deleting those threads would make this site run faster, and the search function will be available anytime.

how about a thread "expiry" date?

there are some locked threads that are left undeleted for research/reference purposes.also, simple deletion of threads is not that easy to do.(i am also a MOD from other forums/websites, this is just based on my experience.)

the messages in the forum are "legacy" content, googleable and part of our "long tail" of inventory for ad banners.

we were asked not to do so.

i guess threads which aren't ours won't hurt you guys.
