Once upon in your life, you encounter such a magical pedal that you just start not caring about the rest of the bunch anymore.
These are the pedals that killed your gas. Do you have such a thing in your pedalboard? I do.
EQ: Detox EQ
I've always struggled with Graphic equalizers so parametric EQ like this makes my life easier in the art of mixing. What makes it even easier is that it has the most basic knobs an EQ can offer: Treble, Mid, Bass and Level. Also, it does not color my tone in any way. Hard to go wrong with this. Too much mids? lower the mids. Not much lows? Increase the bass.
May not be the best EQ out there but has certainly worked for me. This thing has never left my pedalboard ever since I got it.
Overdrive: SRB808 3 in 1
It's essentially a 3 overdrive pedal in one with bass boost. 1st is a TS808 which i mostly use. 2nd mode is a Dumble. 3rd mode is a marshall amp which i rarely use but it's nice to have in case i might need it. It has some nice qualities of a good overdrive. Not too nasal, nice overtones without getting too overwhelming, dynamic, bass boost to compliment and transparent as it can get. I won't say that this is an OD to beat but SRB808 gives me the kind of overdrive that is in my head, period.
Booster: EP Xotic Booster
This thing is just perpetually turned on. The way i describe it is like removing a veil cover from a speaker. It boosts the necessary signals to make the guitar sound big and alive.
Im still enjoying what i have on my board but for now, these are the pedals that killed my GAS for EQ, OD and booster.
Kayo? what pedal(s) have you acquired to which you can truly say, "di na ako titingin sa iba". :)

Zim foxrox and love pedal purple plexi 800 - there is just no way i can be interested with another dirt pedal, unless they come in a color and shape i like.

Lovepedal Eternity - i am happy with this, i am not interested to check out the "better" ones.
phaser:
MXR p90 - lol would you believe it? one knob, and its a 4 stage phaser. i am not interested in anything more hi-tech than this. i have sold this twice, and bought it twice to replace the one's i sold.

I built myself an AMZ MOSFET Boost, which does a really great job of boosting my volume for solos, or as a nice and quiet "overdriver" in front of my tube amp :-D
While I'm not completely satisfied with it yet, the MI Audio Tube Zone that I have right now is also proving to be very useful for a lot of things - it can work as a standalone rock distortion pedal, it can produce a more "metal" sound when boosted with a TS, it can be a really awesome pseudo-treble boost, and with the right settings, it can sound really wooly, almost like a fuzz pedal :-)
And, when used alongside the right equipment, my trusty old Digitech RP500! :-o The other day I was using it to play with my tito and a couple of other musicians during an impromptu jam. This was after a fairly lengthy audition against my analog signal chain, and using the latter as a sonic reference of sorts (the methods I used are detailed here: http://talk.philmusic.com/index.php?topic=291551.0 ), but the results I got were pretty damn good. I wish I was able to record decent clips though. Granted, this thing can only sound as good as the gear you audition it against, but if you have access to really nice equipment, this can almost serve as a poor man's Kemper, and is a potential true gas killer in the right hands.

- I was gassing for an Ethos but I stopped thinking about it when I tried this.
Delay: Malekko 616
- I sold my first 616, got a digital delay, but got another 616 because I missed it.
Reverb: Malekko Spring Chicken
- Just the right reverb. I stopped looking at the Neunaber Wet with this.
Still searching for the right high gain distortion for me. Looking forward to getting an MI Monolith Delta this year.

Zoom ms50g.. So far na provide niya yung functions na kelangan ko for modulations and delay kaya ayun nakuntento nako kasi halos all in one may tuner pa.. Di naman ako sobrang pihikan sa gear..

After going through so many distortion pedals throughout the years, the Amptweaker TightRock got me the sound that I've been looking for. Still gassing for OCD and others for home use, but the TightRock gives me what I need for our band sound

I would've mentioned this except for 2 things
1) Mabigat at malaki siya
2) Because of this, I had to replace my 1 spot with a bigger Power Supply na Mabigat at malaki din.
Soundwise, everything is there.

Line 6 POD XT Live. Although nakuha ko sya second hand with a paint scratch on one edge and without the metal shop model pack, it's well maintained and it's 100% working. Mukhang matibay pa. Yes it's old and overshadowed by the newer HD series but hey, it works and it's my first ever multi-FX pedal. Matyaga naman ako magtimpla buong araw sa Gearbox and I've made some really nice high gain metal patches with it using the stock amp models. Add to that the fact that it's also a USB audio interface for recording and you can say that I'm very satisfied with it.

Man, timeline's power supply is as big as the 1spot...
If you have to understand where im coming from, i used to have a hardwire delay.
My timeline didnt come with a power supply. You have no idea what my pedalboard looks like. Adding the timeline made the whole board hiss like a b.tch. The only suitable option "for me" was to replace my power supply that comes in with isolated outputs. Yun yung mabigat. And yes, compared to the hardwire delay, mas nabibigatan ako sa timeline.

I've had a lot of fuzz pedals, but the blackout effectors blunderbuss killed my fuzz gas. I'd say that the Dr. Scientist Elements killed my dirt pedal gas, pero I ended up buying 2 Elements pedals so lalo pa nakadagdag sa gas :cry:

Bro, medyo curious ako about the Eburst. How does it compare with other ODs (e.g. TS, SD1, OD3, etc.)? Can't find convincing youtube demos of it kasi. :-( Maybe first hand opinion/description might.

kung ts based lang din, sa e.burst ka na. tunog kahoy, organic. kaso tulad ng ibang ts, bitin sa low end.

I set my ss/tube amps to clean and rely on 2 od pedals for light to medium gain. I alternate between:
MI Effects Super Blues Pro + (Jetter GSR or Vintage RAT)
AnalogMan KoT v4 + (Beano Boost or Sunface NKT)
Ethos TLE + Timmy v1
Happy na ako. I've stopped looking at newer pedals out on the market; parang there's nothing new and spectacular naman that I can enjoy. Although I'm currently testing a Catalinbread RAH for early LedZep-in-a-box tones (circa 69-70)... I may have to add this to the above list later on. :-\

i'm not much of a fan of delays before but when i heard this one, i wanted to have one and it's been with me for 4 years... hehehe
my TS808 serves as my bosster in anyway, clean and dirty, no wonder a lot of people uses these and has no chance of selling it... and i'm one of them! cheeerss!!!

actually simula nung natapos kong buoin yung allred board ko at natigil nadin akong tumingin sa classifieds at natigil na din yung pedal gas ko..unang una lahat ng kailangan ko eh anduon na ano pabang hahanapin ko eh lahat ng hinahanap ng tengga at utak ko na tunog eh andun na..kaya tumigil nadin ako sa pagbili i can fully say na pedalgas over nako for now :)
TC HOF for reverb and shimmer like sound using the MOD preset, Malekko Ekko delay for my delay and tremolo like sound which you can dial using the MOD switch, Malekko Analog Comp for compressor para hindi sabog yung mga chords at yung particular note na need mong palabasin eh rinig na rinig, Mooer Cruncher for my Dist and Boost, Wampler Pinnacle for my overdrive and semi crank clean sound, the korg pitchblackred for tuner well it does what it does it tunes your guitar and lastly the digitech whammy so i can do some crazy [gooey brown stuff] on stage! :wink:

For now, my Zoom 70CDR killed my GAS for modulations. That built-in tuner killed my GAS for a Pitchblack or a Boss TU2 too!

Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer - This one is always turned on because it simply adds enough heat to my original clean sound without necessarily altering it. I just control the drive thru my guitar volume knob. -Lesser knobs.
MI-Audio Crunch Box v.2 - I got this pedal by accident. I was originally gearing towards other pedals until a friend sold me his. From then on, I became a fan and settled on it due to its good singing qualities. -Lesser knobs.
Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler - This delay unit is very simple and bone-head easy to use. With enough memory to save 3 patches and a built-in looper. -Lesser knobs.
TC Electronics Polytune - 3 words: Strum Tune Rock. The perfect stage Tuner/Killswitch. -No knobs at all.
Mesa/Boogie V-Twin Preamp - I use this sparringly with my 2 dirt boxes to put me out of my comfort zone every once in a while. This also helps me avoid stagnation and boredom which usually leads to GAS. - Still lesser knobs.

That must be one hell of a BAD sounding pedal for all to kill your GAS. Heh heh.
That being said, there is NO such pedal that will kill GAS. In my experience, the good and great sounding pedals actually encourage you to get more killer amps. And when you get more killer amps, you get more great sounding pedals. And then the cycle starts again.

After I got the sovereign to complement the tone of shredhead, wala na ako iba maisip pa na dist na kunin. This means Crunch box 2 will be for sale soon.
For overdrive, Timmy, can't think buying another one except for the orange or surf green timmy :-)

update:
its hard to stop GAS-sing for dirt pedals. i havent bought any for the longest time, like 2 years ... i am still sticking to my Zim Foxrox, Love Pedal E burst and Purple Plexi 800 set up... but there are times i would want a higher gain, so theres a slight chance one of the pedals are gonna get bumped for a Wampler Triple Wreck in the future.
as for pedals where i feel like theres nothing that could bump it off, its:
1.) MXR Phase 90 (script) - i feel it is the perfect phaser sound wise, control wise and size wise. others are just hitech stuff with more headache. i have never found the need for another phaser for almost 4 years now.
2.) Red Witch Empress Chorus - after hearing the range of sounds i can get off this thing, i am convinced it is every chorus sound i will ever need. no other chorus on guitar got me interested anymore. it can do shimmery or chorus, and it can even do vibe-lke crazy stuff.
3.) Strymon Blue Sky - i find it hard you could want another reverb pedal when it has all the controls you would need and more ... plus it has the shimmer setting that is like a whole new effect itself

dati sobrang impulse buyer ako.. pero ngayon inievaluate muna kung magagamit ko ba sa madaming kanta yung pedal.. since metal naman tugtugan namin inisip ko hindi ko naman kelangan ng madaming modulation hahaha.. nagagas na lang ako now for noise gate and probably a phaser..

The DL4 made me sell my boss DM2, DM3, DD2 & DD3. Well, I tried holding on to those boss pedals for collection's sake... :oops:

zoom g3+expression pedal, ms 50g and hopefully makachamba ng cheap used 70cdr...I think theyre really really value for money...for the features..sobrang nandoon na,wala ka ng hahanapin pa..sa mga simpleng gigs ar jamming at bedroom playing...these are gas enders for me..

I got a TC Flashback a few months ago, and honestly, I'm not even looking at other delay pedals anymore. Obviously its not the best, but its pretty damn good and fun to play around with. :) If I find the need to upgrade from this in the future, ill probably get a Providence delay. :drool:

Yung kramtone zdc na nakuha ko from a trade noon. Kahit clone lang pero Sumakto sa taste ko, nakuha ko yung setting na gusto ko. Natripan ko yung non-transparent sound niya pero di naman muddy pag tinaasan yung gain na sakto sa mga tinutugtog ko
OT: madami na atang pinagdaanan tong pedal na to. Nung binuksan ko may nakalagay na ondoy survivor at naka indicate name ni deltaslim.

Nung nakita ko yun presyo sa audiophile na nasa 12k siya, which was way above the online price. I told myself tama na tong kalokohan na ito. Never bought a new stomp since. Pedal acquisition free for a few months na. It literally killed my GAS!

Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet and my Boss DD-20. The boss is discontinued while the FD2 has had a newer version already, but both have been with my board ever since I got them (~2008). ^-^
