never ako gumamit ng double peds. Siguro kasi ni-discourage ako ng teachersss ko long long time ago pa. Kasi daw yung mga nag double peds (nung panahon na yun) eh bumabalik rin sa single ped. Pero ngayon parang gusto ko na i-try mag double peds. hehe :-D

True. But, there's really no point at comparing 2 different pedals. What matters most is how you dedicate yourself in practice...whether it's a single ped or a double pedal. I have a double pedal, but that doesn't stop me from developing my single pedal skills(if that's how you call it...haha!). Music is an open field...it's not bad to try new things, what is bad is limiting your potentials. :-) just my thoughts. It's like a soldier who is an ace shooter but lacks combat skills...parang ganun...diba mas oks kung marunong ka parehas? kahit di magaling basta kahit papano, marunong at naiintindihan mo. bala parin yan sa bawat giyera na papasukin mo sa larangan ng musika mga men. :-D

alam ko may 2 methods para maka produce ng "tu-dug" dobol kik sound...
yung una.. di ko alam tawag e. :-) one step sa mid section ng ped.. (tu) then 2nd, another step follow-up agad sa upper section. (dug) kaso parang masyadong mahirap.. :lol:
ung pangalawa.. yung heel-toe. apak sa pedal using your heel then sunod agad yung toe. para lang nag si-see-saw yung paa mo sa pedal. madali lang to.. sa una nga lang mangangalay yung binti mo.. meron neto sa youtube. nood ka nlang.
madalas ko tong i-apply sa mga songs namin.. prog-metal kami pero single ped lang gamit ko.. heheheh~ they're forcing me to use double pedal pero, ayoko di ko feel. :lol: pag na-master mo para ka naring naka double peds. ang saya. :-D

i am also a single pedeal user.. but it does not mean i cant play my drums in doublen peds. i still prefer playing it in a single pedal. just imagine this guys, playing in single pedal but it sounds like double pedal? isnt it great??!!haha :-D

Peds ko kasi Gibraltar Avengers. Nagagawa ko yung heeltoe - pero feeling ko masyadong malaki paa ko. Kasi yung "sweet spot" ko, umaaot yung dulo ng toes ko sa double chain. Pag nakasocks pa ako and shoes, wala na hahah. Di ko magawa as successfully pag umurong pa ako pababa sa pedal eh. Anything I can do other than opting for other pedals (which is not an option, btw haha) ? :lol:

madaming sweet spot sa pedal bro, pagkaka alam ko, meron yan sa upper part, sa lower part, at sa 2 side, kaya madami ka nagagawa na techniques sa foot. try mo lang magbigay ng time. madadali mo yan. panis yan sayo man. :-) i too have size 11 feet, pero oks naman ako sa ibang pedal, siguro it's more on the technique you have to practice...secondary nalang yung mga gears. :wink: at lahat ng bagay work on progress kaya oks lang un, mahirap talaga pero kung gusto, kakayanin yan kahit pa konti konti. goodluck kapatid! :-)

di naman sa ganon sir kibohead kinompare ko lang ung dalawa "for example" sa isang consert ung drum single peds lang tapos tumunog ng parang naka double peds mapapatingin talaga mga tao "astig ang bilis ng paa oh" pero pag naka double peds tapos nag play nga ung double peds na mabilis makikita ng mga tao "ah double peds pala kaya pala ang bilis ng bass" un lang po eh ayon sa mga napapanood kong magagaling na drummer, biginner pa lang po ako na drummer sir kibohead eh.. medyo di ko pa po kaya un.... :-)

nasa paa parin yan sir kung pano mo aaply yun technique mo sa pedal. :) kaya kahit alin sa dalawa panalo pero kung para sakin yun elims. ams gusto ko feel mas marami setings and mas malaki yun foot board nya kumpara sa IC yun sa IC kasi liit sir.:)

it really depends on the user i guess, every user has their own opinion...i personally use a single bass drum with a single pedal..but i would totally agree on the monstrous appearance of the kit... :lol:

There are pros and cons to both methods, I'll touch on a few that come to mind. 2 bass drums PROS - Even feel with both feet - Options to tune each drum differently - More open sounds - double pedals can choke bass drum - Looks cool!
CONS - It can be a pain to get both drums to sound exactly the same if that's what you want - Can be difficult to set up your kit comfortably (people have problems with the hi-hat)
Double Pedal PROS - More economical - Can be used on any kit that has just one bass drum (ie house kit at a gig) - Easier to transport
CONS - Slave pedal tends to lag a little bit (expensive direct drive pedals help with this) - Can choke drum, drum isn't allowed to "breath"
I'm sure there are more pros/cons for each.

And besides, SINGLE PEDAL USER KA DIBA.. bakit ka nagmamaruong sa double peds? 3) EVEN FEEL ON BOTH FEET and 2 kick - pare gamitin mo kokote mo or mag basa basa kaman lang ng features ng mga double peds. (e.g. Demon Drive, hanap ka na post na hindi EVEN FEEL ang left at right nito!)
kaya tigil tigilan mo na mag "freedrumlessons.com" and just play and post BASED ON HANDS ON EXPERIENCE.. bawal yung nag mamarunong dito.. kasi yung mga baguhan sa forums or sa drums eh maniwala sayo at magkanda leche leche ang pag drudrums nila..

I've been a single pedal user eversince, because I've never played for a band that requires me to use double bass beats. But out of curiosity and the love for drumming, I did spend a good amount of time and money just to learn double bass drumming. One thing I've noticed is that learning to use double bass beats strengthens your coordination. When I learned double bass I was able to learn some single pedal grooves that required a lot of coordination (e.g. latin grooves) quicker. I can pretty much manage with just one pedal, but I personally think learning double bass can help a lot with your single pedal drumming. :-)

ako single pedal user ako, pero may double pedals ako na gibraltar (di ko alam yung model e basta 90's pa yata na gibraltar ang yung chain nya kasing laki nung sa bike haha :lol:) i don't use it kasi wala akong band na pag-gagamitan and ang bigat dalhin, pero pag practice e sumisingit ako ng konting sipa sa left foot, and pag trip ko lang na lagyan yung ibang kanta ng double haha :lol:

My first impression of the double bass pedal was "Excessive" or "Too much bass" for me. I guess when I saw the application of the double bass pedal done by some local and foreign drummers, that's when curiosity got the best of me. I recommend you try a few basic exercises with the double pedal (eg: Simon phillips double bass and hand exercises, those old lessons when he still had long hair and wore spandex ehehe) it really helps. :-)

I used DP for 3 months lang pero naisipan ko na hindi naman tlaga bagay sa akin. Pinapractice ko nalang ang slide technique, so I ended to use single pedal nalang. May technique nga ako na parang DP ang tunog na ginagamit rin ni Sir Otep, K(kick) R(right stick hitting the floor tom). KKRR KKRR . Parang double stroke lang. :-)

sakin parang baliktad ang kaso. eliminator ang pang harabas ko sa bahay, tas pag may gig d ko na dinadala kaya mga stock na chipipay pedal ang nagagamit ko, but still nagagawa ko ang mga techniques ko smoothly

mag chain ka na man, kasi madali makahanap ng belt assembly compared sa chain. interchangeable naman, based sa experience ko ivan, mas smooth yung belt bro. pero halos wala naman difference talaga masyado bukod dun sa floating feel, pero same parin naman yung response ng dalawa.

korek ka dyan sir kaya parang nasa 85 % usage yung slave pedal ng yamaha dobol peds ko sya lagi dala ko during my gigging days...sobrang bigat kawi pag dadalin ko pa dobol peds hanep 10 kg sa bigat kumpara sa 1+ kilo pag naka single ped lang bukod sa sarap tlga mga yamaha pedals made in JAAPPPPAAAAAANNNN!!!!! hehe got them during the 90's.
mas groovy tlga kasi mga single pedal users bukod sa mas maraming pang pwede matutuhan yung kaliwa natin on the hi-hat stand/pedal.
pero never ko ibebenta mga dobol peds kong yamaha made in japan hehehehe!!!!

hehe you're right the eliminator does it all... un nga talaga dapat ung bibilhin ko, pero ewan ko ba nainlove ako sa HP300... alam niyo ung tipong gusto mo ikaw lang ung gumagamit ng ganun.. ung tipong hindi sumasabay sa uso or something.. hahaha siguro gusto ko lang talaga ung itsura niya hahaha but if i'll use an eliminator i'll definitely use the red cam! hehehe

I find it easier to blast with one foot since I'm more consistent in 180-220 BPM, not to mention accenting/leading with my left on the HH pedal.

Pearl Elims Belt + Purple with BW sa beater = tugutugutugutugupak!
Regrets lang nakuha ko on using 2 peds, nag focus ako to build endurance para sa double peds nawala yung groove, decided to get back to single ulit. Having a great pedal really helps IMO.

wag maliitin ang single pedal... there are times when you see a drummer with powerful doubles, parang nakadouble pedal tlaga, and they are damn fast too... try watching mike johnston (powerful and fast single bass drum player) and george kollias (double bass drummer whose single foot blasts like a double)... This is an inspiration to playing single peds, i'm not saying that single peds bests the doudles... i'm just saying na ang lupet mo sana kung single peds ka lang but you are damn fast and powerful! gets? and isipin mo if you're a double peddler, you'd probably use the double pedal to play straight 8th notes in a relatively fast tempo for a single peddler, a single peddler would use a single pedal to do this, some double peddlers can't do this on a single pedal because it is much easier for them to do it on a double pedal, therefore nagkakarun ng lack of practice sa single pedal... remember drumming is muscle memory, the more you do it the more it gets comfortable, so in a sense sino mas magaling gumamit ng single? edi single peddlers.. (this doesn't always happen, there are double peddlers who are really good with singles, but still these things happen)... doesn't it make you happy kapag napupuri ka ng double peddlers kapag may ginagawa kang mahirap sa single? peace man...
haha never ako manghihiram ng pedal haha

wag maliitin ang single pedal... there are times when you see a drummer with powerful doubles, parang nakadouble pedal tlaga, and they are damn fast too... try watching mike johnston (powerful and fast single bass drum player) and george kollias (double bass drummer whose single foot blasts like a double)... This is an inspiration to playing single peds, i'm not saying that single peds bests the doudles... i'm just saying na ang lupet mo sana kung single peds ka lang but you are damn fast and powerful! gets? and isipin mo if you're a double peddler, you'd probably use the double pedal to play straight 8th notes in a relatively fast tempo for a single peddler, a single peddler would use a single pedal to do this, some double peddlers can't do this on a single pedal because it is much easier for them to do it on a double pedal, therefore nagkakarun ng lack of practice sa single pedal... remember drumming is muscle memory, the more you do it the more it gets comfortable, so in a sense sino mas magaling gumamit ng single? edi single peddlers.. (this doesn't always happen, there are double peddlers who are really good with singles, but still these things happen)... doesn't it make you happy kapag napupuri ka ng double peddlers kapag may ginagawa kang mahirap sa single? peace man...

ndi ko naman minamaliit ang mga single peddler..
ang sakin lang naman ay ganito. imposible namang may magagawa yung naka single peds na di kayang gawin ng naka double peds. :?

uhm. controlled? kasi masyadong mabilis ung blue :))
kung nabibilisan ka sa response ng blue cam, best to avoid red and purple cams also.. try mo yung white, mas ok yun kesa black if trip mo controlled in a certain way.

Mga sir kakashift ko lang sa drums galing gitara, kakabili ko lang ng generic drumset.
Ang problema ko yung single pedal ko nasira na yung lock para dun sa beater (yung malapit dun sa binabatak ng spring sa may parang hook). As in karag na yung thread ng kabitan ng turnilyo para malock yung posisyon niya, mismong bakal durog.
Kaya kailangan ko sana ng tulong niyo mga sir hehe, ano po ba ang advice niyo sakin? Bumili ng generic na murang double pedal, or bili na lang ako ng high quality na single pedal? Natatakot na kasi akong bumili ng generic na pedal, baka masira lang ulit agad. Para sakin parang gusto ko single pedal na lang na heavy duty at maganda ang material, pero syempre gusto ko pa din ng advice niyo hehe!

Nakapagdesisyon na ko mga sir, magsisingle pedal na lang talaga ako na high quality hehe. Praktisin ko muna todo single pedal bago ako magdecide sa double. Baka hindi na rin ako magdouble, sa ibang paraan ko na lang praktisin yung left foot.

tama si sirHEN8 madami sa youtube...ngayon po sir adviced ko lang po practice lang palagi ala lang po talagang shortcut para mapabilis, mahirap talaga masterin yung teknik,mag metronome din po tayo,kung di pa rin kayo komportable try new swivel or slide..pero mas maganda alam nio silang tatlo...

not too sure sa price since possible magpalit sila ng price for 2011. last time i checked though nasa 400+ yung sa tom clamp then 70+ per piece yung lugs.. :-D

Wah ang mahal din pala ng generic clamp.... Dalawa kasi kailangan kong ganun, so 800 pesos na agad plus yung tatlong lugs pa. Hmmm, bili na lang kaya ako ng bagong tom shells? O kaya lagyan ko na lang ng alambre para hindi mahulog, pang praktis lang naman haha!

Tapos after ilang days lang hinihigpitan ko ulit kasi parang lumuluwag na naman, tapos paulit ulit na ganun ilang beses. Napunta barkada ko dito nung isang araw sinubukan yung drumkit ko, sobrang tigas daw ng pedal ko!

Salamat, salamat sir mahikawon666! :-D Yun nga sir nagagaanan ako sa beater ng Demon, naghanap rin ako kahapon sa JB Music kung meron silang Quad-Beater pero wala daw. Salamat sa advice! :-) Nung una balak ko bumili nalang ng Pearl BW-100 Beater Weight eh, kaso wala atang binebenta sa JB na separate nun. Ang meron lang yung may kasama ng Cam drive ng Eliminator, sayang rin naman. Anyway thanks ulit, sa Lyric lang meron yan DW101 diba?

bago tumalon jan sa double peds kailangan mag tunog double peds muna yung single mo.. yan ang personal kong belief.. isipin mo na lang tunog mo nun pag nagdoubles ka pa? :-D
slide technique tsaka constant release (steve smith) ang ginagamit ko pag gusto ko ng double ped efx sa tunog ko..
di ko pa kasi master yung kay mike johnston na floortom eh.. :-P

Dati DB user ako kya lang binenta na.. marami pa kcng pwedeng gawin sa Single pedal, marami padin akong hindi namamaster kya i choose to use single pedal muna.. pag master ko na saka ako bibili ng DB uli hehehe :mrgreen:

single pedal user here. i have plan to buy DB pero nakita ko sa youtube pwede pala mag double peds sa single peds. so yun muna siguro gusto kong ipractice. pero its a matter of choice pa rin sa drummer what pedal should he use. hehehe

dati may nakasabay ako sa gig ang tagal nya nagsetup ng double peds nya. inabangan ko paano nya gagamitin habang tumutugtog na sila. pero natapos nalang set nila wala akong nakita or narinig na ginamit nya left pedal nya. tsktsktsk
