Because the reissues remove much of the mids. You should try the triangle or ram's head Big Muffs and you'll find out why Gilmour uses one as his main distortion.

true, true. when i ask some players here sa lugar namen if they use Compressors, dalawa ang reaction nila: 1) titingin na parang bewildered sabay tanong "Ano yun?", or 2) titingin saken na parang alam nila at nakagamit na sila ng ganun extensively sabay banat ng "Wala namang kwenta yung effect na yun" as if parang alam nila kung para san yun.

overrated for me would be delays. yung mga drive and distortion di naman gaano. pag yung mga taga-dito samen lang, basta maingay ayos na.

hehe, personal experience ko, meron dito samen sobrang "galing", sabi nya pag nagka-delay daw siya baka raw sambahin sya dito. i LOLed loud in my head hearing this.

underrated: digitech hot rod (good distortion tone minus the rat/d+/? emulator), boss hm2 (sounds good with a century wah in front as a treble booster), boss os2, boss od-2...
