I just miss this band..Sana may mahanap pang copy ng albums nila..Mike Turner is my influence in playing guitar..Also the band's bassist inspired me a lot..

Mike Turner is one of my best friends. An accomplished composer/guitar player, a fellow biker, a family man, an evangelist, a youth pastor, best of all, God's soldier. He preaches through his music. We played together on his farewell concert here before he left to pastor in the US of A...
Mike is now based in LA, California. You may reach him at tattooedturners@yahoo.com Sometimes he posts messages at YahooRockGroups... btw, the bass player is also a freakin' awesome shred guitarist... used to session for Wolfgang... God bless bro!

Mike is also a producer & talent scout for Rock Records(if my memory serves me right; duno if he actually owns this...). He offered us a record deal in 2002 after our set in the Pulp Summer Slam (III?) but had to beg-off due to some management issues.
Both Glenn & Mike are awesome players. I have seen Glenn in his Hog Canary days, galing talaga! :-)

wow..Havent researched enough from this Guy(mt)..my update pa rin pala tungkol sa kanya..Salamat sa mga Philmusic forumers..naalala ko kc how this man influenced me..I searched sa youtube e konti lang videos nia..Napanood ko sila w their last album gig s JCSGO church..and I was so amazed coz MT Did the guitar solos live, note by note on wat I heard from the CD..I was just starting to love guitar playing that time and the moment I saw him playing the guitar live..I was really inspired, and desired to step into higher level in playing the instrument..and I was also blessed on the way he honors the Lord by his deeds..as a man whos willing to step on the cutting edge to reach people Thank you Michael Turner..Salamat sa lahat ng ngpost ng reply din.. I produced that event bro. Fund raising yun for a church w/c hired me to be their music director... I even sessioned for them, ( covered Doobie bros' Jesus is just alright w/ me), ako yung naka Ibby Jem Vai Blue Floral Pattern ... Jordan & other DJs fm NU's "against the flow" were also there... Nakita moba yung umakyat ng stage to give Jinky (Freestyle) flowers, at nag "beso" pa? That's me... :-D :lol:cheeeeezy :lol:
After that may acoustic gig pa si Mike sa Victory Church sa Galleria. Joey of NU 107 even organized a surprise farewell party @ CPK for MT. It wuz fun & kinda heatbreaking kasi nga paalis na the next day si mike...

This guy Rocks! If I Remember it right in the 90's his using a flying V together with Charlie Y "The Breed" Awesome performance level for this guitarist. :-D

I used to attend one of his cellgroups sa Megamall. I was also there nung album launch nila (Battery) sa Glorietta. This guy is really something, great person & guitar player as well! Hope he comes back here sa pinas :-)

I remember in one of the Pulp Summer Slam events... magkakasama kami nila Mike, Perf, Manny Amador ( the Breed), & Wolfgang... (mga tropa eh)... Mike had this idea of giving out original Battery CDs in exchange for the pirated ones... in other words pag may dala kang fake/pirated CD ng Battery, papalitan niya ng Orig, Libre! How cool is that 8-)

Hehe kung di ako nagkakamali..5 years after ko nawach ung concert na un..tsaka ko lang nakilala si steve vai (di nga lang nia ko kilala!!hahahaha) and became my favorite guitarist til now..and naging familiar sa mga guitars like the jem..pero my isang church n ngperform to do covers of sonicflood etc...open the eyes ata un..my napancn ako guitarist..magaling..long hair that time..hehehe..kaw siguro yun..mahilig sa wah..feeling ko kc sessionist ung guitarist that time..blue guitar..observer pa lang ako nun..hehe..ung nagbigay ng flower ky jinky..uhm..di ko na matandaan..Pero that night was memorable for me..kasi napanood ko live yung battery and was really inspired by mike turner..Sad lang kasi sinabi niya ata sa stage na last gig na niya yun sa Philippines..Favorite ko din ung "Come to me"..

ako nga yun :-D students ko kasi yung gitarista @ bahista ng banda, erpats nila yung head pastor ng church na nag fund raising for this event. Pinag session ako sa church band para "kumapal" daw yung tunog. Kaso mukha ko yung kumapal kasi nag "beso" nga ako sa seksing singer ng Free Style :-D :lol: :lol: Yup, Ibby Jem Blue Floral Pattern gamit ko nun, Vox Wah & a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier Amp. Mejo long hair pako nun pero naka long sleeves ako that night ( to cover my ink on both arms ) kasi pag nag tabi kami ni Mike, mukha kaming mga ex con sa Munti ( parang ka kosa ni Joaquin Bordado) :-D :lol: :lol:
napansin mo pala na madalas ako mag wah that night... Sarap kasi mag wah pag Sonic Flood At Doobie Bros tugtugan eh... Mike was suppose to jam w/ us on our last song "Jesus Generation" but he had to leave right after Battery's set...(gotta pack his stuffs, luggage, gears, etc...) It's good that you were inspired by Mike... iba kasi talaga dating niya eh... Astig, pero Pastor ng mga rakista, punkista, skaters, bikers pati mga rasta kasama sa bible study group ni Mike. Even Barbie Almalbis was Mike's disciple at Victory Christian Fellowship. [b] To God be all the Glory, Honor & Praise. Not to us.[/b]

i remember the first time we where lined up in a gig with Battery was in Pasig. Woodstock sa Pasig ata yun in Rosario. They were the first band to play then. Galing talaga. If I could recall, flying V pa nga yung gamit niya nun. I still have their CD! :-D

Yup, Mike was really into Gibson guitars w/ Twin Humbuckers ( for a "Meaty" Tone & Great Sustain). Although he had a Hamer Strat, Mike prefers using an Axe w/ Twin Humbs during "Live" shows...
Parating Magulo nun sa mga ganyang events, kahit isang battalion pa mag bouncer sa Pulp events... maski sa backstage nagkaka upakan, labasan pa nga ng baril... one time, SWAT Team na pinadala kasi nagkagulo sa backstage (artist namin ang involved... yung palaman sa pandesal :-D, tsaka yung mga tropa ni Buloy :-D)
pero cool lang kami nila Mike 8-) Pananga namin yung Flying V laban sa mga Armalite ng SWAT :-D :lol: :lol:

The band is really awesome! Did you get to see them live? On any given day, Battery can kick Slapshock, Greyhoundz, & Kjwan's asses :-D or any of those so called rap/metal; rap/core; funk/gangsta or whatever type of music these rockstars wannabees may call it.
Most of these bands got egos as big as the fort, but when it's Battery's turn to play on stage, their jaws drop & their balls shake :-D :lol:
Thing is, MT's attitude towards all of these is that of humility. He doesn't do drugs, alcohol, smokes or engage in Sodom & Gomorrah activities like the rest of the faux rockstars...
MT evangelizes through his music, giving glory, honor & praise to God. I'm not his publicist... It's just that we were into guitars, big bikes, tattoos, Praise & worship / youth ministry... & I was w/ the band @ almost all of the Summer Slam events, the launching of their 2nd album, radio interviews, farewell concert, farewell acoustic gig, despedida party, kulang nalang mag hatid ako sa NAIA :-D :lol:
Let's try to convince MT to come back... calling Jaedee of the Edge Radio, Jordan of perfect rhythm...

HEY THERE EVERYBODY.
Thanks for all your words. I am doing well.. still playing, writing, etc. I was in Hollywood for a few years. I actually got to pastor two guys who are well known engineers/producers (Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, Offspring, Social Distortion, Rob Zombie).. That was cool. I am in FL now and have a new band called Glasgow Kiss.. brand new so nothing recorded yet. We are doing my new stuff and covers to play here in Tallahassee clubs. We were practicing in Creed's old warehouse and people were saying we sounded better so that was a nice boost for a new band!

Hey Mike, Great to hear fm you buddy. Wow! 1st post! I guess the the big guy up there showed you this thread... A lot of guys here at Philmusic remember those Pulp events half a decade back... they still remember the guitar riffs of toxic hate, rage, & the classic "Come to Me", the first praise & worship song on MTV 8-)
Can't wait to hear Glasgow Kiss. You still got the Flying V? or the sunburst Epi Les Paul? I heard that you hooked up w/ Perf & Wolf & did the Hollywood club circuit ( fm yahoo rock groups )...
Chad Robles is now an Ibby endorser 8-) Haven't heard fm Glenn... your drummer invited me to play for his band, The Bruss Monkees, Big Band Jazz :lol: thing is I couldn't do the six nights a week sched...
Joyce & Ron got a Christian Internet Radio thing goin, while Jordan got his regular sunday program, "Perfect Rhythm". He got to interview Reuben Morgan ( Hillsong), Sonic Flood, Planet Shakers, Delirious, Katinas,... but I didn't see him at Tommy Walker's gig last month. Tommy's gutar playing was really awesome, bluesy, clean tone kinda like Eric Johson, but Tom can shred like Frank Gambale :-D had a chance to chat w/ Tommy, he's really an evangelist/axe slinger, a man of God, w/ such humility.
ei Mike, what covers does Glasgow Kiss gets to play? if you've got vids of your latest gigs, pls post the link here. A lot of guitar players still remember you mike, any chance of your new band touring Asia? If ever you need a hand in production work here, count me in. I'll get the best Laney Full Stalk for your comeback concert :-D :lol:

huli ko sila napanuod nung summerslam 2 sa the fort, year 2002 or 2003 ata yun (memory gap :-(), namigay pa nga si mike turner ng cassette tapes, hinagis nya sa crowd, nasalo ko pa yung isa kaya lang nalaglag din kaya ang nakakuha yung nasa likuran ko, ok tong banda na to :-D

Thanks for all your words. I am doing well.. still playing, writing, etc. I was in Hollywood for a few years. I actually got to pastor two guys who are well known engineers/producers (Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, Offspring, Social Distortion, Rob Zombie).. That was cool. I am in FL now and have a new band called Glasgow Kiss.. brand new so nothing recorded yet. We are doing my new stuff and covers to play here in Tallahassee clubs. We were practicing in Creed's old warehouse and people were saying we sounded better so that was a nice boost for a new band!

I remember him doing a rock version of "Staying Alive" by The Beegees during one of their Prince of Wales gigs in Gale.

oo ganda ng point of no return..first time i heard it was during their live performance sa jcsgo church..lupet!!may isang song na nakacatch ng attention ko..and until now lss p din ako..and i only heard it once..wala ko mkita mp3 nun e..the song was "save my life" sobrang ganda for me ng melody.. :-)
