Ludwig Acrolite vs. Tama Aluminum snare
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:37:17 PM »
Anyone who has compared both types of shell material?  Heard a Tama Aluminum snare from the Nico of Avayadown and I was floored by the tone!  But how about Ludwig Acrolites?

Aluminum shell din yung acrolite...same spun aluminum shell (seamless) used on supraphonics, different hardware lang and finish.
Haven't tried the tama aluminum drum, pero I'm sure being both aluminum, minimal lang yung difference sa sound given that both drums have the same tuning, heads and size.
Generally, dry sounding ang aluminum. Medyo woody tone, pronounced mids na meron mid-pitched ring na nawawala agad. Sobrang controllable yung sound kaya madaming studio musicians preferred to for recording.
