There's hope bro. I was a basketball player nung high school days ko. I was 20 years old then nung mag start ako magdrums. I never imagined na I would play drums professionaly. So there is always hope.

Syempre tons of practice and discipline. I suggest you get a good drum instructor para mainspire ka. And then enjoy playing men...

:-D actually im a guitarist.

goodluck sayo sir  :-)

i started playing 2004 lang, i was 24. i pursued it,sometimes practicing 8 hours a day, important lang what you want out of playing the drums,do you want it to be for fun na hobby or to make serious money. i decided it will be my work na so from the start i became serious sympre while having fun. when other musicians see your dedication and love for the instrument conti conti may mga tatawag na sayo for gigs etc  master the basics muna above all.

Same "exact" situation as i am 2 yrs ago...sinubukan ko...pwede pa pala! Just be ready with your money. It can cost so much more to be a drummer than a guitarist

ang sabi nila they don't have the luxury to know drums in a proper manner before dahil iba galing sa mahirap, etc, etc,
pero ngayon they have the resources so they learn
walang problem dyan, ang problem lang sa ibang medyo matanda e mahirap turuan, mas matigas pa ulo kesa sa bata.hehe. not all,but there are some.

try nyo po bumili ng books about drumming.

eto marerecommend ko: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Playing Drums.

He started with nothing pero ngayon he knows some basic sight reading, rhytm dictation, sumasabay sa metronome and can do simple grooves.
