gawa ko ngayon tight top, tapos yugn reso very tight din...

snares very loose.  May konting buzz pa rin pero mahina na.  Pag gusto ko ng crack na malakas, I tighten the snares, tighten until the buzz is gone.  Medyo tight talaga.

Korak nga, konting buzz sounds good.

snare wire query

To our pro's and the elite's.. :-D

will a 16 strand snare wire give much difference compared to a 20 strand snare wire? :?

And what are the differences/advantages of using a rope rather than the plastic thingy for securing the snare wires? :?

not a pro and not elite

no, you wont notice it, more wires = more sensitivity, of course sensitivity depends on what kind of batter you are using too

rope vs plastic? no advantage/disadvantage whatsoever (then again, anybody can debate that)

At saka isa pa -

more wires - more crack
less wires - wet sound

I believe it's the other way around.

Less snare strands offer a drier sound.  More snare strands will produce a more wet sound.

Regarding crack...  I think the snare drum's body (shell + rims) and the choice of batter head are more influential.

Regarding the rope and plastic snare holders...  As long as it can hold the snare wires effectively, I can use either.  I've read and heard that many drummers prefer ropes/strings because it's easier to center-mount.

to be totally blunt, di ko alam kung bingi na ako dahil sa kakatambol, pero wala akong marinig na difference between the regular strand count and the 42 strand snare wires.

just my opinion...

Di ba mas gritty?

Na try ko minsan yung signature snaredrum ni Dave Weckle na may dalawang set ng snare wires. May difference din naman sa tunog pag naka on or off yung isa sa dalawang set ng snares.
Anyway, dalawa lang naman ang basically na kalalabasan ng tunog na yan, wet and dry which you can achieve by tightening or loosening. Degree lang siguro ang diperensya. :|

Subukan mo din, tapos share mo samin yung maging resulta :-)

hmm.. of course sir may difference yun kasi 2 sets of snare wires yung kay weckl eh..

pero i agree with you sir, ma-a-achieve sa tightening/loosening yung sound na makukuha sa 42 strand or any number strand snare wires..

swerte niyo nakatry na kayo ng weckl snare... :-D
