"...To TREM or not to TREM?..."
« on: June 06, 2007, 11:16:03 AM »
i grew up on 80's rock music(van halen, skidrow, etc).. and i've been using ibby rg's with trems all my life.. but lately i noticed(maybe subconciously) that i haven't been using my trems like i used to.. so im thinking of switching to fixed bridge rg's like the RGT6EXFX2 or maybe the RG321(you know.. to lessen all the hassles in re-striging, better sustain, etc).. hence the million dollar question above hehehe.. peace bros..

sige bro eto seryoso na..

subukan mong gumamit ng Tremol-No... in that way you'll have a hardtail mode.

you'll never know, baka mamimiss mo ang paggamit ng trem.

+1 sa Tremol-No. Or pablock mo, totally reversible should you decide to use your trem again. Mas mabilis nga lang ata magswitch from fixed to floating with a Tremol-No.  :-)

ayos yun sir! yung rg321 that's my dream guitar... e mukhang you can afford it naman e... i don't use much trem din e... depende nalang pag nagcocover ng satch or vai. i would definitely go fixed bridge...

kaya naman ako ibby na rg rin (rg770 and rg520qs) e hiyang na ko sa fingerboard. although i would like sana to have a fatter neck... wizard 2 pwede na rin. ayun saka 24 frets. saka pala maangas tingnan naka floyd lol(ang babaw no?). the nice thing about it is you'll never go out of tune once it's locked... konting fine tuning nalang.

setback is. while practicing and you decide to go GLAM ROCK mahirap i down ng 1/2 step lahat ng strings to play those gnr, poison and warrant tunes hehehe. or drop d or some alternate tuning for mga metal bands to be exact or just mess around cool stuff to create a different sound.

saka pag nagkamali ka ng bili ng strings... was lucky enough to find this out an hour before the gig when i stringed m guitar sa place. e ung reinforced ernie ball na .009 e di pwede sa set-up ng guitar... konti lang kinapal you can never tune it na. e wala pa naman akong tools nun... ayun bili uli ng .009 na deam markley kasi walang ernie ball that's y i bought the reinforced strings in the first place... well ayun lang... hehe!

parang ganito yan:

ganyan plan ko bilhin since halos di naman ako gumagamit ng trem. and i like the fact na present pa rin ung tuning stability na dala ng double locking system.

Astig 'tong bridge na 'to.. pero hindi ba parang overkill? But then again, I don't listen to Mick Thompson's music. :-)

ako both.. haha.

i used to use my floyd rose all the time. then again, tinamad ako. ewan ko kung bakit. tapos nag lagay na lang ako ng chunk of wood sa likod ng gitara ko.

i can do some different tunings which is nice, because it lets me play a lot more different songs.

anyway, i'd still go for the trem, if i had like 10 guitars. then again, isa lang gitara ko... so wag na muna.
