LF: Female musician for both online and live collaborations
« on: September 21, 2015, 05:07:15 PM »
Hello! I'm doing this for the first time, ever. So, medyo strict ako sa requirements.

So, I'm looking for a female musician for both online and live collaborations. Here are my requirements:

1) Must be able to sing
2) Must be able to play any instrument (kahit hindi necessarily technical, basta may alam sa chord progressions)
3) Can read sheet music (I may use music notebooks from time to time to illustrate my ideas)
4) Can write lyrics
5) Can make instrumentals
6) Has a familiarity with Ableton Live, FL Studio, or Audacity (Cubase, ProTools, and Reason are a plus, but not necessary.
7) Willing to cooperate with my ideas (I have a lot); but can suggest options without compromising ideas (I will do the same with your compositions/ideas)
and 8 ) Willing to have online collaborations with me

I'm particular with numbers 1, 2, and 4. So, if you have that, I'll be doing further tests (number 7 being the first) to ensure an efficient collaboration.

For the genre, I'm not particular with it right now. I'm just going to check out what you have (Soundcloud, preferably)... and will ask further questions if deemed necessary. But, to give you an idea of what may happen, I listen to a lot of groups ranging from rock, electronica, pop, jazz, classical, and experimental. Right now, I'm doing a cover of CHVRCHES's "Gun" and Nine Inch Nails's "Only". If you're as well-versed in music as I am, and have actually performed a lot of songs in different genres, that will be to our advantage in our collaboration.

As for the location, I'm willing to just interact muna online. But, in the event that we'll have live performances, you should be living in NCR [QC is a real bonus].

If you're up for this, send me a PM here with a reply to my requirements. We'll interact further from there.

As for the age: I'm not going below 18 and higher than 29 at the time of this post. Ideal range is 21 - 26. Unless your voice really fits the sound in my head then, age doesn't matter.

Thanks, PM! :D

Edit: I play the bass, rhythm guitar, drum machines/sequencers, and keyboards/synthesizers. :D

Edit 2: sonicassault has joined the party! CHVRCHES set-up na ang mangyayari (2 guys and a lady front woman)

Edit 3: My influences include, but not limited to:

My Bloody Valentine
The Beatles
Kraftwerk
CHVRCHES
Nine Inch Nails
Dream Theater
Hiromi Uehara
Victor Wooten
Shakatak
Deodato
Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Toe
Mono
Explosions in the Sky
Aerogramme
Mogwai
Sigur Ros
Earthmover
Up Dharma Down
Extrapolation
The Smashing Pumpkins

boss, out of curiosity lang... if candidate meets or exceeds all your requirements, why would she need you?

Exactly. Hirap mabaliw sa sariling ginagawa. I need a breather.

Seryoso? Hahahaha. I'll hit you up! Balak ko rin ng mala-post-rock na guitar riffs (I can't do it on my own due to a, what I suspect, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome from playing the bass; pero nasa post-rock band ako dati).

I now elect to move my position to drummer/programmer

We can all just pitch in riffs and ideas. You're... in-charge of that and we'll throw in ideas to try out.

Likewise, sa synths and bass (yung forte ko), you guys can throw in whatever you can. I think I have stated here na efficiency ang gusto ko. Our output will be a testament to that. :D

Now, to find a female vox...

Edit: ang nakikita kong problema dito, same with the previous band I was in, will be creative direction. I will not *solely* lead a direction. What will happen, as far as instrumentation is concerned, is a voting process with a decision ala UFC/boxing match (unanimous, or split). Kung split ang decision, the last vote will be... the fourth member! Oh, diba, efficient! :D

Ulrayt! Sige. Again, we're very much democratic here. Basta, walang idle time kapag music matters. Saka, dapat efficient. :D
