Alam niyo sir kung pagmamasdan at pagkukumparahin maigi, halos pareho lang talaga sila. Search pa po kayo online reviews at videos sir, halos, halos, halos, pareho talaga eh. Di pa ko nakaka-try ng speed cobra, sabi ng iba panget daw at mas maganda daw demon drive. Sabi naman ng iba sa demon drive ang pangit rin, mas maganda daw speed cobra. Nasa personal na panlasa lang po ata talaga ng gagamit. Demon Drive po ang ginagamit ko ngayon, ok naman siya. Kahit naman ang speed cobra eh :-)

Palagay ko sir, ang pinag-lalabanan lang nitong dalawa, yung itsura nila..Hehe..Kung sino mas pogi sa kanilang dalawa :lol: Parehong gwapo in different aspects, pero pareho lang rin naman ng feel :-)

Yung sa tanong kung alin mas lighter, di ko masagot kasi Demon Drive pa lang nasusubukan ko.
Yes, adjustable pareho ang beaters. Yung Demon yun na talaga ang angle ng beater PERO meron siyang "beater stroke adjustment" na pwedeng pagpilian kung lighter o heavier feel. Yung Speed Cobra adjustable na yung beater angle, meron pa siyang "vary-stroke beater adjustment" na parang "beater stroke adjustment" ng Demon, yun nga lang pati footboard apektado pag inadjust mo, di tulad sa Demon na iba pa ang pag-adjust sa beater stroke at iba pa yung sa footboard. Kaya ok din kasi pwede kang mag-experiment sa gusto mong "feel".

personally hindi pa ako nakaka try ng demon drive at speed cobra, pero sa iron cobra ko pa lang na may cobra coil, nagagaanan na ako, tsaka parang naka rugby na sa paa mo yung foot board sa sobrang bilis ng rebound.. kapag naka sagad yung cobra coil. How much more pa kaya ang speed cobra 8-)

Can you compare Direct Drive and Chain Drive? It's like comparing apples and oranges diba? Two very different things? I think...
The "Long Board" of the Demon Drive is just as long as the Iron Cobra? The Speed Cobra has a longer foot board. I'm not heavy on the foot, but i think the speed cobra gives more power on the kick.

Humble opinion, Demon Drive is NOT ugly. It just doesn't suits your taste when being incorporated to your kit due to the contrasting color, ma'm. :-)

Kaso isang na gustuhan ko sa Demon Drive ung ADJUSTABILITY nya.. Un ata ang main concept ng PEARL.
As per musiciannurse, pwede mo nga i-adjust ung beater stroke na hindi nagagalaw ung pedal board at un ang isa kong nagustuhan..

anu po ba pwedeng maging negative effect ng longer footboard?? mejo nahihirapan kasi akong i-evaluate since ang alam ko lang kaya pinapahaba ang footboard is para makapag heel toe ang mga drummers na may malalaking paa at tsaka malakas na sipa.

IMO longer footboard allows you to get more control sa volume ng kick. Specially on accents. Yun nga lang karamihan satin sanay na mag control sa short footboard :)
Para sakin sa DD ako. hehe kasi more adjustments ang magagawa. mas makukuha mo sweet spot mo
kung volume lang naman, habaan mo na lang yung beater, then change the angle ng beaters para pag pumalo may buwelo na sya. I think that's the good thing about DD's. Just tweak the pedal then you'll find a way to make it powerful.

you have to sacrifice power kung gusto mo ng speed sa DD pero once you find your "sweet spot" swabeng swabe na ang problema lang... HIRAP HANAPIN NUNG SWEET SPOT EH !! :))
i went back to elims from DD, nahanap ko na yung tamang hagod pero kulang parin talaga
yung hagod na yun nakita ko sa elims chain drive...
kung yung hagod ng chain tapos yung speed ng direct makukuha sa speed cobra edi jackpot na !! ^_^

Direct Drive is of course, when the pedal board is attached directly to the cam that gets the beater movin. By being attached directly to it (i.e. Axis Pedals) you get the most direct connection between the movement/pressure of the foot to the pedal and the pedal to the head. The tough part with this one is, depending on what pedal you're looking at, regardless of the direct connection it may feel either too stiff or too "quick" as some would say.
Belt Drive is along the same lines as the Direct Drive except what unites the pedal board and the cam is a belt, usually of teflon, though I've seen ones made out of different materials. Again, what makes this kind of drive unique is how it transfers energy and pressure to the cams, while not being as "connected" as the direct drive, it removes the stiffness; given that the belt bends and moves freely. It's in some ways a perfect alternative to the direct drive in the sense of touch and feel.
Chain Drive is like exactly as it sounds, a small chain attached from the pedal board to the cam. The chain can be either thin or thick (thick referring to the chain on a bike for example). It retains the connectivity of the Belt Drive, but the feel may be slightly altered. This comes from the fact that move parts are moving than just the solid direct drive or belt drive. Each link has to more and slide on its own. The added benefit however, is the durability. Being a chain drive it's not going to stretch, though some manufacturers make crappy chains and some snap.
Double Chain Drive is also just as it sounds. Two chains (usually thinner ones) linking the pedal board and cam. Unlike the single chain, the double allows for more energy and pressure to be transfered to the cam at once, thus allowing a smoother action. You could compare this system to pulling something. Lets say you have a rope tied to something, you pull it with one arm and it moves. Now lets say you take that same object and tie a second rope to it, you pull with both arms. It would be easier to pull cuz you've got more force pulling against it. That's the idea behind the Double Chain Drive. My favorite!
All these "reviews" come from my personal experience. Honestly, the best way to tell the difference would be to try each out on your own and find the one that fits you best.

masarap pareho gamitin yung demon drive at speedcobra pero sa speed cobra ako dahil kasing bilis nya rin demon drive sa stroke pero mas natural yung feel ng rebound dahil chain drive.

the best is to practice! chain man yan or belt or direct. yung legs & ankle mismo ang magdidikta kung alin ba ang best, not the pedal. forget all techniques in the book and play as much as you can sa pinaka-kumportableng form and build or work all they way up in achieving that speed and dexterity.. i guess. hahaha :lol:

IMO only mga sir, especially kay Sir JDMonline.If Pearl demon drive ang buy mo sir DAPAT medyo mabigat tugtugan niyo typical na(BRUTAL,DEATH,GRIND,BLACK METAL :x),para mafeel mo yun bilis and gaan ng isang Direct Drive.Most of the drummer using this Direct drive including the AXIS AND TRICK is bilis ang habol nila(especially sa mga sinabi ko kanina mga genre),regardless of the power because they have the"TRIGGERS ON IT".If medyo hindi ganun kabigat tugtugan niyo sir or hindi mo habol yun ganun kabilis na tugtug,pero hanap mo power ok na siguro ang CHAIN DRIVE OR Speed cobra pedal...Opinion ko lang po eto mga sir,Pero it's up to you pa rin kung ano ang feel ng paa mo... 8-) :wink:

share ko lang yung preference ko.. agree ako na nasa paa talaga yan. :-D i tried the demon drive and speed cobra.. but i now ended up with a dw 9002.. quite pricy pero yung paa ko parang na-iinlab talaga at sobrang satisfied.. lols

i do not have much to say about these two pedals as there are soooooooooooooo many information already out there and saying it again makes me sound like a preacher. But what i can share is that to feel each pedal and know which one suits your style and taste. Its as personal as your deodorant and only you can say why you prefer one over the other. :-D

The Problem for me is the frickin heavy case.. It made my arm hurt 2 days when i just carried it around moa for 1 hr.(thanks audiophile moa and sorry to moon,alam na niya un)

Nope. walang iwan and walang angat sa dalawa kase magkaiba sila. Depende sayo kung ano mas prefer mo. SpeedCobra is a chain drive and Demon Drive is a direct Drive pedal. Dyan palang may malaking pagkakaiba na kagad sila. ako mas prefer ko SC kase chain drive sya gusto ko kasi powerful yung every kick ko, unlike Direct drive pedals mabilis nga sya pero nababawasan naman yung pagkapowerful every kick kaya yung ibang direct drive pedals may mga trigggers parang axis

Nope. walang iwan and walang angat sa dalawa kase magkaiba sila. Depende sayo kung ano mas prefer mo. SpeedCobra is a chain drive and Demon Drive is a direct Drive pedal. Pero in my experience mas powerful talaga ang attack ng Speed Cobra kase Ive tried SC and DD and I applied the same force of the kick to each pedal pero mas malakas tlaga ang SC. Pero sa Bilis Direct Drive talaga Ako. This is Just my personal Experience. Correct me if im wrong

what i meant to say before is that if you apply a certain amount of force on your direct drive pedal, the pedal will translate it as is without adding any power (assuming you configured everything to your liking). chain drive pedals add more power simply because of its pulley action at the cam.

Compared to my iron cobra,Speed cobra was frickin louder than i used to be so it saves my energy to do household chores after my practice.. hehe
In it's factory settings,i was super happy.. hehe.. my gf got jealous because it made me forget her for a while with this pedals.. hehe..
Compared to direct drives im not a fan of it.. but one thing i loved was axis longboards(c/o Vinci) yun lang nagustuhan ko direct drive and the speed king din pala..hehe..
Simple guy lang naman ako,ayoko ng madaming things na features na dukot dyan,lagay to for a new cam.. etc..
For affordability Speed cobra is cheaper( pero i think it's introductory price siya so buy now na before it gets to it's higher price)
I love pearl, i was drooling at the eliminator before and the demon drive but it was not my thing. players preference naman yan..
i think my pedal will really stay with me for a long time until tama made a better pedal than this one.. hehe..
For it's hardcase,it was really heavy,but i have softcase so it's ok.. i only bring one pedal in gigs.. i'm a retired metal head.. hehe..

I swear by the Speed Cobra. 8-) Try one if you have the chance. I guess because I have a light kick... and I felt the power on the SC which I didn't get on the DD.

Na try ko na iron cobra,speed cobra,pearl demon drive. para sakin ang pinaka maganda is ung pearl na eliminator kasi sobrang smooth ng felling pag mag slide technique ka. pero nasa gumagamit na din yan kung anong mas comfortable kayo na gamitin dun kayo wag lang ung hinahanap is porma ng pedal..

hindi naman sa lacks on speed, kasi yung power sa Direct drive parang ang hirap na palakasin talaga, unless na lang ilayo mo pa lalo yung beater, pataasin mo footboard, baka makatulong kahit konti sa power. Pero sa speed cobra kasi, naeenhance naman kasi yung bilis ng paa, sa totoo lang kahit anong pedals naman basta kung talagang mabilis lang ang paa mo. I remember before ako magkaroon ng IronCobras, naka P-120p ako na pearl, mabilis din naman paa ko dun, nung nag IronCobras na ako, ganun pa rin bilis ng paa ko, nagbago lang eh yung feel, mas naging comfortable ako sa IronCobras kasi nga ang bilis ng rebound niya, parang naka dikit na yung footboard sa paa ko. Actually dapat may thread din ditong Iron Cobra or Speed Cobra?, malaki pagkakaiba nila para sakin. haha!

natry ko na both pedals, mas trip ko ang feel ng SPEEDCOBRA kesa sa DD, IMO pareho ng speed ang speed at dd, sa dd kasi talagang nakukulangan ako sa power nya lalo na yung stock beaters, ika nga talagang heavenly feel sya..hehe, sa speed naman nandun yung bilis ng response ng dd lalo pag nakuha mo yung sweet spot plus mas solid ang power nya.. IMO lang yan mga kapatid base sa experience ko, sa SPEED COBRA ang boto ko.. :-D

If you suck in foot playing, this cat(i mean snake) is for you.
Everything's unreal.
It's like giving 50% and the cobra will give 100% output both on power and speed.
The only problem i had is playing low volume setting. Mukhang hindi pwede to sa Jazz.
Tama nga sila. You can't have it all sa pedal.

Meron akong DD peds. Masasabi ko hindi naman kulang sa power para sakin. Kasi ako gusto ko rin na powerful talaga ung hampas nya sa head. Kasi galing akong DW5000 so hinahanap ko parin ung power talaga. Tapos may nabili akong DD. NUng na adjust ko na sya nakuha ko naman ung gusto kong set up na with power. Tama ung sinabi ni sir kibohead na nasa paa lang yan. May mga drummers talaga kasi na mahina tumapak, may mga drummers din na nakakasira na ng Pedal mismo sa sobrang lakas haha. Although d ko pa na tratry ung speed cobra pero judging from the looks of it mukhang may power talaga sya. Ako masaya naman ako sa Demons ko hehe.
Depende parin talaga sa feel na gusto mo. At again yung nga nasa paa hehe nasa tapak din talaga. :)

But sabi ko try ko muna tong demon drive pag d ko trip itratrade ko sya. But Turns out nagustuhan ko sya, few adjustments kasi 1st time ko sa direct drive. So normal na mag adjust. Ayun buti naman nag kasundo kmi ni Demon hehehe. :-D

How about the response and feel of the slave pedal of the speed cobras?? Is it as same and reactive tulad ng dd? I tried the dd and the feel of the left is really as close as the right.. haven't tried the SC doubles.. and my main concern is its slave pedal.. Bring light to these forum friends.. thanks..^^

How about the response and feel of the slave pedal of the speed cobras?? Is it as same and reactive tulad ng dd? I tried the dd and the feel of the left is really as close as the right.. haven't tried the SC doubles.. and my main concern is its slave pedal.. Bring light to these forum friends.. thanks..^^
Oo nga sir.. kung ano sana ang response ng slave pedal ng sc compared sa dd kasi concern talaga ito. Sana may sumagot hehe.

Yup malambot. Pero maaayos mo rin sa adjustment. Tska Hindi mahina ang power. I myself nung una nag duda ako na baka wlang power ang DD. Pero may power sya. Solid ang DD wala kong masabi. :)

Hey guys, im deciding to trade my pearl elims singles to speed cobra and i haven't tried speed cobra yet even the DD's.. mas okay ba SC sa elims? hehe... i'm just trying to experiment with my pedal, di ko kaya pagsisihan?? Any comments, suggestions naman po... :)))

Mga sir, balak ko kase magupgrade ng pedal.. And gusto ko nga sana DD or SC.. Single pedal lang.. Gamit ko kaseng foot technique for my double strokes is slide technique .. Ano kaya sa dalawa mas okey sa technique na yon?.. Thanks po!.. :mrgreen:

Demon Drive for the win.. Ganda pag gamitan ng slide technique.. Lalo na pag naka-short board setup.. :wink:

I've tried DD which is also good but I feel more comfortable with SC.
Actually both pedals are awesome, it's just a matter of your personal preference coz we all have different feet.... and also what fits your precious budget.

Yup,Tinaas ko Siya,to the point that the beater height would I bit higher. Hindi Siya magi impact sa Gitna ng kick,a bit higher than that. :)

Haha! Never thought of that part of the pedal,anyway,away from the drum head. Because I can play more dynamics with kick. :mrgreen:

ive tried both of em and honestly they do deliver what they offer, i can live with either of them.
only thing i find about the demon drive is that it looks a little fancy, other than that, i'ts a great pedal
so you can't go wrong with either of the two..

No,Akala mo lang,if the beater is nearer e di Ka makakalakAs,imagine the far like accents na sobranf lutong at malakas,while your height of ghost is the one nearer the head,you can't play a full accent stroke on a height of a ghost note,yeah you have control but not full control,you will not utilize the full potential of the bass drum itself.

i have checked both pedals already and i have came to my own conclussion that the pearl demon drive is a lot better. of course im speaking on my own behalf lang naman. :-D
pwera sa direct drive, ung naka attract sa akin sa demon drive is ung z-link. ang galing kasi dahil sa z-link wlng delay or play sa slave pedal mo which can affect your playing talaga. as far as i remember, ung concept nito ay galing sa axis pedals yata if i remember correctly. most drummers would buy the zlink separately just to avoid the play or delay.
downside lang nung demon drive is ung beater. kung totoosin mas maganda pa ung beater ng tama iron cobra or ng eliminator or if you can ung hammer beater ng axis pedals. pero aside from that its all good.
sa speed cobra naman, un sana ang kukunin ko if only may z-link siya :cry:
but anyways, at the end nsa personal preference mo pa rin. hope that helps :)

Maganda naman talaga pareho eh. Aesthetics wise panalo rin. Nasa gagamit lang talaga. Walang the best, the best.

Recently switched from sc to dd,
Sc is very simple,while dd has many choices to the point that you get confused
Ehehe.so I read the manual. Both are ok,speed cobra is really strong in kick
I mean really helps you with projection,while dd is fast that it lacks on punch
Both have ugly beaters which I don't like.
Both I got to say it's harder to play in demon drive because it's an honest pedal
If you really dig on your foot technique,you will hear your inconsistencies in the doubles
While speed cobra compliments you thus it doesn't expose some of your flaws.
I'm staring to rework my foot technique now because after almost 2 decades of drumming
Demon drive exposed some nasty stuff on my bass technique,yes it's easy to
Play fast in this pedal but controlling it is very hard,so control over speed first for me
My legs are swelling at this moment.ehehe.i bought a kick drum pad and just gave myself a
Workout and will be doing it again later,ahaha.so that's my opinion so far.
And both my settings in pedal is very loose spring settings and beater is quite far back
One thing I hate in dd is I have to raise the angle of the pedal to make the beater go a little far back
Unlike speed cobras.i don't really like angled pedals.
