I got an RP200 as a gift and bought an RP250 sa audiophile but sold them both here sa classifieds. I can say both were very convernient when playing gigs, I did'nt need to bring a bunch of pedals or a large pedal board.
Both Units had 2 footswitches, 1 up and 1 down then an expression pedal that I used as a wah or volume control, I did'nt bother using the whammy on both units.
My setup was:
1. Arrange the presets in series of 4's. So clean, Overdriven, Distorted, Solo; then I just pick up which set up per series I was using. For example, in one series of patches I have, 1 - Clean with chorus 2 - JCM 800 3 - JCM 800 + OD then 4 - JCM 800 + OD + Delay then on 5 clean ulit then 6 - basic driven patch and so on... I used both Multi's like this and it worked nice live since naka arange na up or down ung presets ko for a song, shift up and down lng, from intro to verse to chorus then back to verse then solo, very convenient.
2. Use the cleanest amp possible. Maarte sa Amp ung 2 multi's na to. One time, I had my RP250 perfectly set - up sa bahay, then worked fine on the studio practice because both amps at home and at the studio were the same . But then on the Battle of the bands we were joining I ended up using a different amp, with 5 mins worth of sound check, I did my best to make adjustments to get back my tone. When it was our turn to play, wala, iba pa din ung tunog.
3. Don't overmix or overload patches or it will sound like crap, the simpler the clearer the sound.
Both Multi's were very reliable and sounded great live, provided you set them up properly and knew what kind of amp your going to run them into.
