What analog pedals are essential for GT10?
« on: January 19, 2011, 02:37:01 PM »
Just thinking of setting up some analog pedals that'll include my GT10. One of my friends told me that a BBE sonic stomp pedal is gonna be a big help to make it sound livelier and not digital-ish... I've got lots of things in my mind right now that i could add up but for sure your advices will be a big help.

thnks of adding up:

EHX pedals
BBE sonic stomp
Kaoss pad

The GT-10 should already be more than enough on its own. I could only recommend you to add some drive pedals before the GT-10. The OD, distortion and fuzz effects in the GT-10 don't sound analog enough. Just use your GT-10 for wah/volume, modulation and delay/reverb.

No additional pedals necessary. I had one for two years and didn't have anything else in my chain the whole time. The trick lies in choosing the right amp and/or pedal sims, tweaking them and plugging to the right amp or speaker system.

+1.

If you're not happy with the dirt sounds, I guess you could get some.

For more interesting sounds/more options, then I guess the Kaoss pad is a good choice, among the ones you listed.

The dirt sounds are i guess doing quite well for me.. Only that i need to  make a lot of adjustments... DO i still need to buy some distortion pedals for that matter?

If you're using the GT-10's amp sims and not playing through a real guitar amp, I wouldn't bother with other pedals. But if you're plugged to a nice guitar amp via 4-cable method, having those other pedals would be nice. Either way, the decision is ultimately yours.

A KP3, an RC-3 and a GR33!  :-)

Edit:

Woopsie! You're pertaining to analog pedals pala.  If the GT-10 works well with pedals, go get some dirt stomps you like. Other than that I'd say wala na.

^^^These three will give you hours and hours of fun and adventure though!

As what I've read, Harmonic Converger and BBE sonic maximizer suits together with your Boss GT-10..
