I never have problems with the necks of my guitars because maganda ang quality ng kahoy as reflected in the price.

Good for you dahil hindi napupudpod ang frets ng gitara mo at hindi mo kelangan ng fret leveling.

Yung paborito kong gitara had three fret leveling service na ang might need a full refret next year. Just last month I purchased a replacement bridge from Rich Harris for my guitar dahil nagsisimula na siyang mangalawang. I had that guitar for 15 years now when I bought it from a local store.

Yung American Deluxe na binili ko sa Canada back in 2007, I had to bring to a luthier to have the neck fixed dahil sa tagal niyang naimbak sa Pinas nagwrap at gumalaw yung kahoy. Kaya ayoko na personally ng Fender USA kahit custom shop pa yan or masterbuilt. You gotta hate the humid climate of Manila too, bilis maka-luma ng gitara.

My point is, hindi lahat ng dinadala sa luthier (or technician) may defect. Some guitar only require maintenance. At some point, metal parts will corrode, you'll get paint chips and scratches, shrinking/movement of wood kahit nakadisplay lang ang gitara kahit mamahalin pa yan.

I don't have a guitar that's 15 years old.

No problems with my Fender Custom Shop Tele.  Its still one of the best sounding if not the best sounding Teles in the Philippines.  I did say that I brought my guitar to a technician for reasons such as pickup and bridge part replacement but never because any of the wood in my guitars moved. Dahil mamahalin nga at maganda ang kahoy.

haha, ayos naman yang si firemodel, you just have to take what he says with a sack of salt.

A clarification: I can put that sack of salt where my mouth is.

Well, how about you put your mouth/salt to its best use, Alex?  :)

The OP simply wanted a lead on a tech/repairman in Rizal province.
If you don't know of any, just say so and move on.

If you need to preach against the (semantic) evils of (mis)using the term luthier,
start your own thread dedicated to it, so that simple requests for assistance
don't get derailed into bandwidth-consuming, I-know-better-than-you-ever-will
fluff fests.

Rey Vargas RIP, my dear friend, is more of a guitar geek than a "guitar repairman" for me. he never stops exploring and learning everything there is to know about his craft. i remember the delight in his face when i brought him 42 and 43 AWGs from the US as a gift - atat magwind ng pickups. in return, he built me pickups with combined alnico 3 and 5 and handwound the thing himself. he was trying to explain to me the "nerd info" behind it pero hindi ko magets. :)

Great sounding Teles are very hard to find... So if you want to know what a good sounding tele sounds like, you have to try my tele.

here's a thing, what if i tested your tele and thought the sound was good, BUT it's not the tone i am looking for?
for someone who's tried a ton of different guitars, i'm sure you've had a lot of that kind of situation. everyone of us has a "dream tone", and we all probably differ. the bottomline therefore - it is null to say that you have the best-sounding tele. and im saying that with all due respect.

I agree. Not all of us share the same tone preference. What may sound best to you may not be the tone I am looking for.

Actually the great sounding guitars are GREAT because a surprising MAJORITY can agree that its sounds great.  I did point out in my previous post that there are several guitars that are going around from one musician to another because its sounds bad.  Unanimous sila na kailangan nila ibenta.  So the flipside of that is there are guitars that sound great that everybody can relate too.

So, lets start... how do you define tone?

So if you define tone as timbre, what I can outright tell you that to get that timbre all you need to do is change the amp first before the guitar

Yes, I agree that you should change the amp first. My highway one sounded much better when tested the other day on my new 57 champ clone even though the weber speaker is not yet in a cab. It may not have the best tone, but the improvement was significant for me.

good. so when you declared that you have the "one of the best-sounding teles in the Philippines", sinong "MAJORITY" yung tinutukoy mo na nagsabi nun? how many are these "MAJORITY"?
as a statistics major, i want to see the "stats" behind that claim.
