Feel makes blues blusier than if you were to quatify it in theory. Anyone can play a b5 over any chord progression but not just anyone can wiggle and sweat out that note until you hear their heart breaking like BB king or SRV did

yup...got a live version from sacred sources CD and that version is pure bliss. The whole band sounded like a channel with Stevie being the shaman.

+1 on Hendrix

Redhouse Isle of Wight version, lupet pare... It's amazing how he makes that song sound like a new one everytime he plays it. Although blues is meant to be impromptu/adlib, but admittedly you incorporate the same melody when you play the song again. Or at least used the same melody as you heard it from another artist. With Jimi, you have the progression in mind and you're waiting for the notes you'd expect to hear since you've heard of it before. But then again he reinvents over and over and you'll be amazed on how he came up with it. Combined with showmanship I especially love the part when he knocks on the guitar while playing chords down the neck of that Gibson Hendrix V.

Whew!!! Wish I could play like that...

It's not the guitar's fault...

wether a song is bluesy or not, for me, depends on the feel..i prefer the slow ones_its deep..but i also like clapton's work on cream and bluesbreakers

the tone should be near-break up and dynamics is important, if it has that, then its blues for me

yeah... miserable talaga. pag napapakinggan ko "since i've been loving you" parang gusto kong magpatiwakal.  :-D best example ng perfect blues ensemble: perfect ang beat, ang groove, ang guitar at ang voice... miserable.  :-D

Na di-dig ko yung kay Muddy waters, Buddy Guy, jimi, SRV, Clapton/Cream, JOhnny Winter, Willie Dixon, Allman Brothers .. .

pero yung ibang old guys like Bb king d ko pa talga ma-appreciate,  . hirap i-empathy yung sa kanila and i still need to research about their life/experiences to "know" their blues. .

An lufet ng Spoonful .. nakakalibang pakinggan. .

Kung sa acoustic, the best para sa akin yung Life by the Drop ni SRV

Hello there, my old friend,
not so long ago it was 'till the end
We played outside in the pouring rain,
on our way up the road we started over again

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

Up and down that road in our worn out shoes,
talkin' 'bout good things and signin' the blues
You went your way, I stayed behind
We both knew it was just a matter of time

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

No wasted time, we're alive today
Churnin' up the past, there's no easier way
Time's been between us, a means to an end
God it's good to be here walkin' together my friend

You're livin' a dream, wo you on top
My mind is achin', Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop
That's how it happens, livin' life by the drop

Yung Little wing ni Jimi at yung instrumental version ni SRV. . . .f@#k! parang gusto kong umiyak at the same time magwala !!

overall. .. .mas matimbang para sa kin si Pareng Jimi. . .voice.. ..rythm/chords. . ... dynamics..  . idol talga !!

This is weird. James Brown's "This is a Man's World" made me want to cry.
