hear the effect of my melodies against the harmony. Kung maririnig mo yung solo ni Tommy Flanagan dun sa unang recording ng giant steps medyo nanibago din siya sa changes eh, so he just played few notes.

you want, in my case nag-transcribe ako ng mga trip kong solo, yung kay Coltrane, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny ang trip ko. Na-transcribe ko rin yun solo ni Scofield sa Moment's Notice.
The challenge is connecting those ideas to make it sound natural and not an exercise, I'm still working on that myself, I'm still ain't happy with the way I play it, lalo na pag naririnig ko yung version ni Michael Brecker, pucha parang daling dali lang sila tugtugin yun eh.
Also don't worry about immediately playing it fast, speed should come naturally. Jazz improv is a lot more sophisticated than just pooping out some note patterns. In my experience, may mga ideas na nahihirapan ako sa practice pero pagdating sa jam session, "heat of the battle" pucha lumalabas na lang ng natural hehehe
