hi, just wondering if may mga musicians din dito na mahilig sa archery..... want to know you guys... :)

medyo bro... but the good thing is your arrows can be used again. so in the long run parang cheaper parin compared to buying bullets if you are in shooting. :)

dapat consitent lang sa practice bro like any other sport or playing instrument... muscle memory kasi kailangan. :)magkano initial gastos para magkagamit ka? gusto ko ala legolas ako sa asinta hehe
may mga affordable naman na starting gears bro, o kaya, in our case dito sa Cebu archery club, may pinaparent yung isa naming kasama/supplier din for the person to start with, just to get the feel of the sport. para if gusto talaga tumoloy, saka na mag invest sa gears. para if hindi, walang na waste na pera. :)

i'm thinking of getting back into the sport.. did this a few years but then a few things/interests came up...
we used to shoot in U.P. but last i heard they (the Philippine archery team) moved practice in Polo Club.
i know that there's a indoor archery range in Mall of Asia. don't know of any other venues.

just learned that there's a new indoor range in makati cinema square...
i have yet to check it out to see if they rent out equipement, rates, etc....
for those who want to start on a low budget, check out missionarchery.com they're like the "Epiphone" counterpart of the Matthew's bow line. high quality + low price..

just tried archery last night and nakakaadik! Medyo mahal nga lang. Sa Kodanda Archery Range, sa MCS 580php total per hour. With equipment rental, instructor, and target paper. 30php yung paper. I'm wondering kung next time baka pwede na ibawas sa rate yung "instructor rate" kasi sa simula lang din naman kami tinuruan, mag-self study na lang ako hehe, more on enjoyment lang habol ko hindi naman competition. Pero siyempre, pag confident enough na hahaha..alam na..
Saan kaya nakakabili ng mga used 2nd hand beginner's bow/equipment? para naman bawas sa bayad.. we intend to do this once a month lang medyo mahal eh.
Ano mga tips niyo sir? May archery forums ba ang pinas?

^I e-mailed Benel Archery. Hindi sila nagpapatrial, for members lang. To be a member you just need to buy any archery equipment there. May lessons sa kanila 8k for recurve 10 sessions (2hrs each) daw. Inclusive na ng equipment rental.
After the training 200php/hr (excluded ang equipment).
Wala pa ako budget.. someday soon hehe

I'm planning to get a compound bow ee. Just want to shoot for fun (that doesn't sound right :eek:) because I still do longboarding on the side :-P I'll try checking their webbie, if they have one. :cute:

That's what I'm thinking rin! PM mo ko ng rates nila kapag hindi ka naglessons or post mo dito. Yung Gandiva archery range hindi ko maaccess website nila eh.

i think it'll be good if we can form a group here where we can shoot together and learn from each other.
archery butts are really easy to make and we can shoot in some place safe for free.
all we need is to have our own equipment (one time buy, lifetime fun! hehehe)...
there's this Matthews Genesis Pro that sells for 14k if i'm not mistaken brand new. beginners bow but accurate and fun to use. if 2nd hand i guess it can be had for close to half the price?
P200/hour just didn't cut if for me when i visited one of the indoor ranges listed above. hard to maintain and learn the sport if you're counting minutes just like in computer shop.

sa nayon sa bahay lang at mejo nawala na yung range dun sa U.P.
basta mejo malayo pati walang tao/bahay/hayup/etc.. sa likod ng butt pwede nang range yun... basta minimum of 10 meters...
