9V 350mAh to be use in a 9V 800mAh Adaptor. ok lang po ba?
« on: February 24, 2009, 04:06:27 PM »

800mAh ba current draw ng TS-7?  :-o ang taas naman.  :-o Parang naka 2 Zoom multi-fx ka na nun.

Anyway, my basic understanding of electronics tells me that the adaptor wouldn't be able to power your pedal in the first place if the adaptor's output is far less than the current draw of your pedal.

Electronics experts can correct me if I'm wrong. Amateur guess lang ito. haha. (lol)

You can verify the actual power consumption sa 'label' ng pedal or sa manual.

Pwede ka pa actually mag-power ng iba pang pedal using the same adapter (if you have the proper power cable, like Boss's), just make sure na yung total power consumption of those pedals is still under 350 mA.

Hope this helps. :-)

It will work pero hindi mailalabas ng pedal mo yung 100% performance nya. Example icompare mo dalawang flash light na may bagong battery at luma. Goodluck.

i suggest getting a regulated psu or a custom psu... generic power adapters have a tendency to break pedals in the long run... ask your nearest friendly neighborhood pedal tech...  :-D

Eto po yung sabi sa manual

"When using an AC adapter, use only the IBANEZ AC109, AC309 or AC509 adapter to prevent damage."

IBANEZ AC109, AC309 or AC509 adapter is a 9V 200/300/500mAh. TS-7 is 9V 800mAh (MAX). Meaning pwede po pala talagang mas mababang mAh. Edi meaning pwedeng pwede po talaga yung 350mAh kong adaptor. Correct me if Iam wrong masters.

warning: di ako electrician, nagmamarunong lang :-D

imo, if your adapter has a lower mA rating than your pedal's current draw, the adapter will eventually melt down.  the max mA rating means your TS-7 spikes every now and then to 800mA - yun yung sisira sa adapter mo in the long run, kasi di niya kayang ibigay yung ganun kalakas.

just to be safe, get an ac adapter that meets or exceeds the mA rating of the TS-7's recommended adapter, or better yet, magpagawa ka na lang ng psu.

2 cents, please correct me if i'm wrong, sirs.

edit: 800mA pala yung MAX nung recommended adapter, not the TS-7.  that should be ok then, for now.  but try to get a regulated psu para kampante ka, most generic adapters are unregulated...

yes, you can use your generic psu (350mA). i think TS-7 has just a current draw around 120mA.

Pedal-Max aka Emil Murillo is a well-known PSU maker.  A lot of guitarists have had theirs done with him, specs pa nila.

Here's his website:

using a smaller mA will lead to the transformer of the power supply to heat up and vibrate, causing the audible "hum". I suggest you don't cut corners in powering your fx, since nasa power supply ang dugo ng inyong Fxs. Use only the recommended Psus, pagawa ka ng regulated PSU and stay away from the wallwarts na mabibili sa malls.

TS-7 Specs
Power supply ............. 9V battery (S-006P) or AC109, AC309, AC509
Current Consumption .. 8mA
maximum Dimensions ................ 125(D) x 75(W) x (53H) Weight ........................ 440g (with battery)

350mah divided by 8mah = 43.75

correct me if im wrong.

Check mo yan sir. :-)

Warning: Nagmamarunong lang din ako.
Sabi nung electrician na nakausap ko dati basta mas mataas yung "ma" nung adapter kaysa sa "ma" nung device, walang hum issues.
Yun lang. Hehehehe...
