Is Soprano really difficult to play?
« on: June 28, 2010, 01:22:55 PM »
I have been playing alto for almost 5 years and about a month ago, I bought a curved soprano. I thought it would be easy sailing for me but to my surprise, I realized that playing soprano is much complicated than playing an alto sax. Even a slight movement of the mpc inside my mouth could alter the intonation and despite its size compared to my alto, I think I need more airstream to blow a tune.

There are times when I said to myself, why did I ever buy this sax when I am already doing fine in my alto but then I do know also that there are songs which could be better played in a soprano.

I bit more demanding when it comes to embouchure ang soprano.  pero once you get this done properly, magandang instrument ang soprano naman eh

I have been reading the posts on soprano in the saxontheweb.net on soprano and it seems it is the most problematic sax when in comes to intonation. I am just thinking what could be the reason?
