I personally have no clue what makes a good saxophone, but my dad has always wanted one (he plays flute mainly), and I think he's a bit frustrated not to afford it for all these years, mainly because of having to bring us up rascals.

His birthday's coming up on september, I'd like to buy him one soon.

Question is, where the best place to go? Are those in our local music stores any good? Or is there a secret shop I should know about? Any recommendations?

we need a winds market like the other instruments do.

and to answer your question, here in the phils, i think only jb music and yamaha carry saxes. not good ones imo. tom lee in hk is where i got my sax. ganda selection dun.

I'm selling a never used LA Sax tenor 850 series I, kameleon model ..it's keyed up to high g...pero i'm in the US......also got a winston boston soprano sax, a mint la sax 750 burnished brass alto sax (keyed up to high g)...let me know if interested, baka may relatives kayo d2..or any means para masend dyan sa pinas...accept paypal/cash......

i got my conn from him for 25K i think. maybe alto's will cost less. give him a call, he's a very down-to-earth person.

Baka may mga video lessons po kayo for sax. Bago lang po ako. Bibili palang ako ng sax. Kinakabahan po ako, kasi baka di ko mapatunog. heheh dati po akong bassist. So start talaga ako from scratch.
