Urban Ears daw yung gumagawa para sa Marshall. pero for a 2,500 price range for the Minor black earphones, is it worth it?

just to satisfy my curiousity. binili ko na rin. hahaha!  :-D

3.5 to 4 out of 5 ang review ng mga techies about it.

anyway, i would say the sound is above average, pero let's say di naman sayang for Php 2,500 peso range aesthetic wise. not much bass, treble and mids are just okay. walang noise cancellation. tapos walang volume control. meron forward and backward. but anyway, i would give it a spin. i wish they would come up with a better sound on the next versions of it.
the design is very cool IMO. let's see how durable it is. it comes with a 1 year warranty na rin.  :)

i own a minor black fx, regalo saakin ng gf ko

it's the same with sa minor ang pagkakaiba lang niya is yung volume control specifically made for sa mga ipod, ipad at iphone.

ang warranty niya is replacement warranty pagnagkaprobema ibalik mo lang with the original packaging at resibo papalitan na nila.

ooooh....shyte!!! too late. nakabili na ako nung minor black lang eh, sayang. anyway, i like it so far. ayoko lang gamitin sa gym at baka pawisan yung fabric cord at mag amoy ewan. hehehe. Php 500 lang pala difference. deym! how do you find the audio plug so far? ninenerbyos ako sa haba eh. it looks cool kasi it does look like a miniature guitar plug. binibiro nga ako dahil sa knob design ng headphone. para daw ako si frankenstein. hehehe.

two things

-happens after the burn-in/break in process. continous usage will put the drivers in its right place thus resulting in optimized sound output. in short, pag bagong bili ang earphones/IEMs, wala pa sa porma yung drivers. first time usage will be quite unbearable lalo na sa mga audiophiles dyan dahil kapansin pansin yung muddiness, low bass response, etc..after a while, gumaganda na yung tunog. pumoporma na kasi yung pyesa.

-the persons ears adapted the sound coming from the IEM

first experience ko nyan sa A4tech in ears. pagbili ko nangiwi ako kasi tunog lata. after an hour of non stop music, umayos yung tunog.

i believe in these theories and i apply them to all the IEMs and earphones i purchased. i got a freeware that i use to break in/burn in the phones.

update! so far the sound is still OK. i think it sounded better pa nga.

only problem now is the cap that covers the small speaker came off. bad trip! let see if the warranty covers it.

update regarding the Marshall Minor Black. so i bought this one on Jan 2012. the sound really is still as good as i first got it. only problem is the cap came off. so i went to Salonga Music store in cubao to see what can we do about it and if it's covered by warranty. anyway, the box of Marshall explicitly says with 1-year warranty and i remember asking the staff about it and i do remember them agreeing na meron nga. so here i go and stated my case to them. sabi sa akin ng staff dun at tinanong niya pa yung in-charge siguro sa may cashier na i need to pay 500 Php daw at isesend daw nila sa supplier nila pwera pa daw ang parts replacement (parts replacement? for an earphone?) cost. so sabi ko, wala pang 1 year ito at sabi mismo sa box ng  item na may warranty. ang sabi ng staff eh hindi raw applicable ang warranty sa kanila kasi daw hindi raw dinadaanan ng kuryente (wow, so ano dumadaloy sa earphones ko? tubig?) katulad ng mga amp at audio- electronic equipments. at ang sabi pa, sa ibang bansa lang daw applicable ang warranty. i find it difficult to believe na magbebenta ka ng product sa pinas na hindi mago-honor ng warranty lalo pa at major brand pa ang kine-carry. digital walker honors warranties that are set by the manufacturers of headsets and earphones. 1-2 years pa nga. so why what kind of excuse is that? so wala ako nagawa i just put back the cap and put a small amount of glue on it para magamit ko naman.

the real problem now arise when the left channel of the earphone suddenly went out. the only way to make it work is to wiggle or hold the cord near the plug and both channels will work. ok na sana yung cap lang kaso nawawala na tunog eh. pero since yung encounter ko with Salonga Music store (which is owned by JB Music). nakakadismaya lang na bumalik. so for a 2500 earphones that you expect to work for a year, eto, paperweight na lang.

i emailed marshall support regarding the problem. surprisingly, they replied the same day. i stated my case and they asked me for further info like the proof of purchase, the issue and my address. they asked for a code from the box but unfortunately wala naman. but then sabi sa akin ng marshall support hindi naman daw issue yun. i still qualify for their warranty. they are just requiring me to send the deffective earphone through standard shipping (they don't prefer UPS, Fedex and the likes due to the fact that it will be sent to a PO Box) in British Columbia, Canada. so here it is, next week i'll be sending the earphone to canada and see how this will go.

i agree with you RedWinG... nakakadismaya nga yan.
and then it all boils down to the fact na ibabalik mo din pala yang product mo, overseas to have it fixed.

Now, it seems like, it is better to buy foreign products online & ask about international warranty.

This also made me think, that upon buying items for our local distributors, it is better to have a documented warranty agreement between the buyer and the store stating all the agreed terms, para sa claiming of warranties, e walang magiging problema.
Question na lang is, in lieu ba ito sa consumer rights natin?
or pwede din tayo mag-reklamo sa consumer rights department?
another question, is this department really reliable when it comes to consumer complains?

hmmm...

in addition, para pala hindi OT...
aren't marshall headsets just new gadgets that make them seem to be trying out or branching out?
coz it looks like Vox is also following up with their own

BR & God bless

I tried the major one, masakit sa tenga at di ko trip yung tunog. Mid high and little bass.
Went for a Shure Srh 440 instead, pilas nga lang agad yung foam dahil sa pawis.

Sound wise sulit sya.

Major lesson i learned is buy gadgets and accessories from the right store. JB is a music store with sometimes vague warranties when it comes to little stuff.

anyway, i sent my earphones last friday. let's see what happens.

Latest update! After 2 emails received from Marshall support confirming that they are sending me a replacement unit, the 2nd email has the fedex tracking number! from what i read from the package, this replacement came from stockholm, sweden. 3 days and it finally came to our house. anyway the whole thing actually took about a month (sending the deffective unit, probably marshall needed to verify the defect and sending a replacement!). they sent the complete set! the box is almost the same without the large sticker of a picture of the earphone. it came with the ear clip and the cancelling plug. what i notice is that the cord is bit shorter, which i think it's not that much of a problem. it's long enough to reach my ear and pocket. the plug i think was shortened but i think it's better. as for the sound, i'm not sure if i became used to the almost crappy sound of the ipod earphones cause when i hear the sound from the marshall earphone, it is so much better. i think they put a few bass on it.

so there it is, i guess the lesson i did learn there is to verify the warranty with the store your purchasing from.

anyway, all i can say now is, JB you suck!!!! Marshall, you rock!!!!

Just want to share. :)
And cool yung itsura nya na volume knobs.
