they're both lighter than chain driven pedals, notwithstanding major tweakings of course, but in general they're lighter.
between strap and direct link...with the direct, there is no slack or tension gap between strokes, very accurate and real time...whereas with the strap, there is a slight tendency to slack, but this is only noticeable with advance and fast pedal footwork na. pros notice this slack issue with both strap and chain drivers, hence direct link came into life to solve this problem.
to sum it all up, if it feels perfect for you and you're not half-hearted about it, go for it. its down to your personal taste and preference really.
