Title: DIGITAL PAINTING / 3D GRAPHIC DESIGNS / DIGITAL ARTS / PHOTOSHOP
Post by: ARTificial on February 19, 2011, 05:20:23 PM
Who among you here digging this sort of hobby?
Kayo? Sumasang-ayon ba kayo?

you can post tutorial links/source here anything related sa topic natin.

Suggestion ni sir Garner

Back in high school, naki-in ako with some of my friends sa pagiging artsy. Haha. I even had a devArt account.

Sa ngayon naman, I still play around with Photoshop pero usually sa paggawa nalang ng forum avatars/wallpapers logos/banners/invitations, etc. I can also do some basic to average photo retouching kapag nautusan ng ermat/utol/relative.

Ahh, SoTW is... well basically put, a competition where tags (which are often called 'signatures' on some other forums) against competing tags. Mostly circling around a specific theme for the week or month, hence SoTW for Signature of The Week / Month.

Ngayong week Bleach Arrancar ang theme. Hirap maghanap ng renders / stocks to use, walang magaganda. Pero nakakita rin naman, pahirapan nga lang. ><

Title: DIGITAL PAINTING / 3D GRAPHIC DESIGNS / DIGITAL ARTS / PHOTOSHOP
Post by: Greatest_Guitarista on May 05, 2011, 04:59:59 AM
Hi there!
3D nowadays is not just the future of graphics but it's the present and will continuously dominate movie, advertisement, graphic industries.
If you're interested in 3D please feel free to ask everything about it here!

So first, ask yourself what industry would you want to be into.
   Game industry?
   Advertisement or Broadcasting industry?
   Artistry
   Movie industry?
   or just a hobbyist?

what You need:
1. 3D Graphics Software that can Model, Animate, Render like:
   Maya
   3DS Max
   or Softimage.

Originally these 3 were in competition with each other. But now, they have been acquired, owned, and developed by the monster AUTODESK.
If you're gonna ask me what would I recommend, I would say you try it all for you to see the
difference (you can download trial version anyway), whatever you find yourself comfortable using with.
All of those softwares are as complex as each other and can do whatever the other one can do.
So if anyone says, Maya is better than the two or vice versa, believe me, same company developed those softwares so what do you think the difference would be?
The difference is in the process of doing things, and ofcourse Graphical User Interface and their naming convention.
3 years ago when I started, I used 3DS Max, then I tried Maya, then shifted to Softimage.

Cinema4D is the present's fastest renderer. Commonly used for Broadcasting, used in natgeo, discovery, bbc, cnn. Etc.
Blender is a freeware, originally designed for Linux but they made it available for Windows and Mac.

2.  Image Editing software like:
Photoshop, Lots of image editing softwares out there, but this one rocks the market hard.
You gonna need this to edit Texture of your 3D model. 3D Texture includes, color, texture, bump. etc.,

3.  If you want to design high detailed non-animated model you need:
   Mudbox by Autodesk
   or ZBrush

These two softwares allows you to do "3D Sculpting and painting". Imagine yourself being an sculptor using a computer, Way cool!

4.  You gonna need a decent Pen tab for sculpting your character and painting texture.

5.  PC, hehe! You can't do 3D without this, hahaha! Faster of course the better. High GPU, CPU. I recommend using 64Bit version of operating system so that you can use 8GB to 16GB of RAM.

These are the process the you need to know and understand.
1. 3D Modeling --> where you model a character, object etc.
2. 3D Texturing --> where you add detail after you model
3. Rigging --> preparing your model to be animated, like putting some Bones/Joints on your character and having controls over it.
4. Lighting --> Like in photography, light makes your image interesting. In 3D you can control the Light yourself.
5. Rendering --> This one usually takes a long time, even on fast computers. Why? Because software you are using is calculating the color, detail, lights, shadows of each pixel of the image.

Below are my 3D pics, hehehe! One of my dreams as a child is to become a superhero or an angel! Something that took me about a month and a half(per model) to finish.

Correction, "software" is a mass noun.  3D's been "in" for the longest time, but I actually urge people to go back to basics and not rely too much on 3D and/or digitally generated images..
Title: Re: Photoshop (Graphic Designs/Digital Arts/3D) *MERGED*

@matanglawin --> Ako naman, I urged those artists to go 3D or Digital!  :-) Malaki matutulong nito para sa kanila knowing that Filipinos are really creative. And if we don't use technology even in arts, talagang mahuhuli na tayo sa trend.
Here in the Philippines 3D is just in its baby age. In other countries, Yup matagal na nila gamit and 3D, dito bihira pa lang. So I encourage everyone to use computer to produce graphics! Know it! It's fun!  :-D

Yeah.  Skillwise, people should get as much as they can. I was a forerunner and pioneer in digital layout and design and was actually a pioneer with the use of PDF.  So I know the advantages of computer-based graphics.

But, I guess you weren't a member of the workforce back when the "industry" as a whole was plagued with power outages.  Only those who knew the traditional ways were able to survive and present to client.

What use is your 3D skill, if you don't have the tool.  With pencil and paper, you can still get a job.  Also, REAL art is in what the hands can actually do without a software crutch.  Can you draw that angel by hand as well?  What more is that other than digital data?  Real art appreciate over time.  Digital doesn't.

Same as Photography.  I hear too many a "digital photographer" saying "we'll fix it in Photoshop, and you'll know that person has no knowledge in film.

Also, 3D is NOT NEW here in the Philippines (hence, was "in" for the longest time)  One of the premier 3D gaming companies is based here in the Philippines as of 5 years or so ago.  And the first 3D commercial was done 10 years ago.  You were probably not just looking hard enough.

@matanglawin

So what's the point dude? People who read this post know that without computer, there's no Computer Graphics. Hehe! So expected naman nila siguro yun noh? :?

I am not a member of anything regarding 3d cg (I just hope I could be one someday.. hehe), I am just a hobbyist who explore my ideas regarding this matter. And I don't have anything to say about traditional ways of doing things, but most of the offices today have power generators and UPS. So power outages is quite inexcusable to not learn new ways, except if natural disaster occurs.

People who wants 3D need tools of course. Can you do art without tools? Can you be a Photographer without a camera? or a sketch artist without papers, pencils, coloring tools or whatever? Hehe.. I am not comparing the traditional art from the modern day computer generated graphic design, because it will not make any sense. CG ideas came from the traditional art. And if you're asking if I can draw this angel by hand, before I start creating a model, I sketch all my ideas in a paper until it becomes clear to me. So it's really an advantage but not required for those who want to learn this to have a drawing background so that it would be easier for them to gather their ideas.  :-D

And about digital photography and photshop, hehe.. You can't stop it, a lot of amateurs and even pros love it! it's worldwide. Those 2 things opened up people's eyes that they could do things a lot easier, is not cheating, it's practicality. And some who tried it don't want to go back again to the original way, but still
Some people prefer the traditional way of doing things, it's cool.

Yes 3D gaming companies are here, but other countries benefit from those companies(outsourcing) rather than us filipinos, in fact only few filipinos know that such things exist.
Again I don't want to compare things from what they are way back decade ago, but Technology is growing, art needs technology, Artist needs technology. By the way, 3D is a Real art. Why naman hindi for you? Hehe!

And if you don't want Computer graphics, it's up to you dude.   But for us to be effective and be in the trend we really must go further and explore new ways( or not so new ways) of doing things. I'm not here to contest your skills and knowledge. I would just like to help those people who want to learn this and not to showcase my ability but to inspire them on what they can do, so that's why I created this post.  :-) Anyways, peace to all!   :-)

Who said anything about stopping computer graphics or not learning computer skills?   Did you miss the part where I mentioned I was a pioneer in digital design here in the Philippines?

The point is, KNOW THE BASICS first.

Do you know how to draw by hand?  Based on your, er, samples, you don't know much about lighting dynamics. Your images look flat.  The shadows on the floor are incorrect, compared to the shadows on the legs.  You relied too much on the default settings of the software.  It looks as if you used templates and smacked textures on them.

3D or 2D computer graphics is NOT real art (in the context that it is made by virtual means).  It's art partly because of the skill involved in it, but, there's no intrinsic VALUE.  You can't print your digital art and sell it like one would an original Picasso, can you?  Is it still art if the computer is shut down?  Sure, one can make a bundle of money knowing 3D graphics, but it's mostly for commercial use.

Also, to differentiate, real 3D artists do know traditional art before going into 3D, so they know the value of knowing the basic skills of hand-drawn art and know how color and light dynamics work.

Also, having generators and UPS is such a poor excuse for not knowing the basics.  Ten years or so ago, there were people who said print will die.

It didn't.  Because, no computer can beat the true value of a REAL book.

Lately nag try ako mag illustrator CS5, ayun, nakakabadtrip.

Illustrator was meant for vectors, so yup tama nga mas mainam dun gumawa ng vector arts para sa iba't-ibang media. Yung Photoshop kasi parang limited lang sa digital retouch/improve/art (may support para sa 3D models at vector files, pero limited lang) kaya mas gamit yung Illustrator for example sa t-shirt designs, still advertisments, etc. Opinyon ko lang yon. ;D

Galit ka ba? Hehehehe! Easy lang pare..  :-D
I never said that they shouldn't learn basic. Hehe! Why would anyone go back to "FILM" photography when there is digital that makes it more practical nowadays?
I'm not here to boast out anything, or to showcase what I got. Cause I know I'm not really good in doing this, like what I've said earlier I'm just a hobbyist who explore things around. I just want to help those who have questions and to give them answer according to what I know and to what I experienced.

Yup I know how to draw by hand and Guess what! I didn't use any templates!  I intentionally made it really shadowy so that the abs would be seen, but the wrong thing I did here is that I didn't create a back up light from below.    Based upon your comment, Perhaps you don't know how to use 3D software. Sorry for that dude.

For you my work is not good, it's alright. For some it looks great. What I know is just the "BASIC of doing things" We have freedom to judge things according to what we see. It's better that we admit that we just know a little about things than being a mr-know-it-all dude.
And Perhaps you know everything about art. So why not post your work here, so that we may see how really good you are rather being a mad man on the run?

10 years ago, is quite far from what we are now. Especially in cinema, games, in graphics, or even in music. Is there's any filipino nowadays who can still sell their masterpieces of art? Really few. Why? Because only few would invest on it.
I appreciate things from what they were before. But we should also be eager to learn new ways.

Anyways too much for that.. Up for this post!
Peace to all!  8-)

Photoshop  :-D

Then it won't be "true" vector even if you used Photoshop's vector tools because the resulting image will still be bitmap/pixel based and resolution dependent.

(btw, I'm not saying your work is not good, in fact, they're rather nice digital art.)

yep your'e right, its technically not vector unlike when creating one in Illustrator or Flash.. I just find it easier to create it directly in photoshop than to export it from Illustrator and Flash..

I use true vector when the image will be printed or need to be scaled on different sizes..  8-)

Anyone can do digital.  Though the skill is there, there is more intrinsic value to ACTUAL art done on canvas and paper.  If you don't have a computer, can you still do art?

i beg to disagree that anyone can do digital. actually there are artists who are good in traditional but can't paint digitally. i know artists who really cant use graphics tablet and photoshop. everybody can try painting but not everybody can be successful.

Choosing between digital and traditional really depends on your purpose. if you are into graphic novels, movies and graphics design; you would not choose traditional nowadays of course. but if you are type of museum/gallery/framed-paintings on walls/ person, of course you must do traditional. you cant hang digital paintings on museum walls.

regarding the intrinsic value,  i think it is not right to say that traditional has more because both requires skills and talent. both produce artworks that come from the artist's heart and mind. that's the intrinsic value, the artist itself; not the paint, not the canvass, not the digital file, they are just media. noone can underestimate digital painting because it requires skills too. moreover, there are genres/scenes/ that are more appropriate to portray in digital than traditional. let's say "robot fight scene", or "futuristic space war" these subjects are better drawn on digital than traditional canvass.

i admit that having a background in traditional really helps alot when somebody turns to digital.

my point is -  artwork, no matter how somebody produced it, must be given credits that it deserve

I said "anyone," not everyone.  Anyone who decides to do digital CAN do digital.

With enough training and exposure, they can.  Personally, I can't "paint," but, since I sketch with pencil, I use that technique to paint digitally.

I disagree.  The basics are still essential training even to those who are taking up multimedia.  It's not a matter of wanting to hang actual paintings on the wall.

We skate a thin line between what is actually art when it comes to digital.  Heck, we skate a thin line to what is art in the REAL world.  As I mentioned, there is the skill involved, but, what would that skill be if one doesn't have a computer?

Agreed.

But, like I said, where is your art when there is no computer?

why are you putting me in a place like this? Will there be any EMP (electromagnetic pulse) that will cook every electronic device?
but to answer that question, my artworks will be hung on galleries and museum walls instead. that's it. haha just kidding.

the above question is a pretty senseless question because i think everybody knows the answer. it is simple, if there is no computer there is no digital art. everybody knows it. everybody expects the consequences and they know for sure what to do.

for the sake of argument. if there will be no computers... so what? why should i bother myself thinking what to do if there will be no computers? anyways, i just do digital painting for fun. i dont do this for living. if i want to create art again, i can go back to traditional and that wont be a problem for me because the basic skills are innate. it's like biking, once you had it, it wont go away.

It's not a matter of having no computers.  A computer is a tool.  Without it, you have no "art." Without it, you won't have a hobby.  Your art is nothing more but 1s and 0s.  Sure, you can print it, but your print has NO INTRINSIC value whatsoever except for the paper it is printed on and how it was printed.

Whereas, with a pencil, pen, ink, paint and paper, canvas or even a blank wall, you can always do art so as long as you have the drive to do it.  It is rather wrong that you don't have the drive to "create" without REAL tools.

Again, I don't doubt your skill with a tablet, can you do the same with a mouse?

See, it's bad reasoning that make people lose their faith in their ACTUAL skill.  I suspect, you are rather weak on actual media, and you have seen how easy it is on the computer.

very different. there are almost 90% functions of a tablet that cannot be done with a mouse. pen pressure: opacity, flow, angle... jitters. fast erasing, configured buttons... those things.  plenty.

I suspect, you are rather weak on actual media, and you have seen how easy it is on the computer.
you are entitled to your opinion and i cant really argue about it, but to doubt my skills based on that is being narrow. more often than not, it is easier for those who have a background in painting to do digital painting painting because of the their foundations. i think other traditional artists who have turned to digital would agree also that digital is alot more flexible and easier because it gives you more freedom and practicality. but that doesnt mean that if somebody finds digital painting easier he is weak on the actual media. you have no idea what kind of artworks i made before. you havent seen my traditional works. and it is unfair to judge a skill without seeing the produce. i suspect you are a frustrated digital artist, and you are bitter to those you really can do digital painting. how about that?

i really do not care. NO INTRINSIC value because there is no ink and canvass? digital arts are made that way. you do not have to preach it. digital arts are not meant for that. these things you are telling us are understood and given already. you do not have to say it . now the world is divided into two, traditional artists and digital artists. you really need to understand things the way they are. if you say digital arts are just 1s and 0s, you are correct. that doesnt make them not real or not actual arts. you dont need to elaborate these things. you are saying things that we know already and making a problem out of it. there is no problem with digital arts having no intrinsic value. the problem is in your mind and in the way you see digital arts

Sure.  But that's the challenge.  The pen made it EASY for you things you can't do with actual paint and canvas, so, is that real skill?  Without the pen, can you do those things?

I can "paint" with a mouse.

Not really an unfair assessment, unless of course you show REAL skills by posting ACTUAL painted works or sketches.  Freedom is the usual excuse of people who love digital painting because it allows them to CHEAT.  It allows them to hide their weaknesses in real art.  As far as your reactions go, I doubt you have any actual skill in ACTUAL REAL art, or even if you do, is quite limited.  Digital art is easy to do after all.  When one makes a mistake, all one has to do is "undo" or use Photoshop's "history."

You can't do that for real, can you?

Quote
I suspect you are a frustrated digital artist, and you are bitter to those you really can do digital painting. how about that?

Wrong.  I was one of the people who pioneered and championed digital art and digital layouts here in the Philippines, and has been a regular resource speaker at Graphic Expo.  I'm one of the few who afforded those early expensive wacom tablets.  I can make "art" in both vector and pixels.  I was one of the few "pixel pushers" back then who started digitally coloring comic books, and enhancing those colored on paper.  I have worked on Gerry Alanguilan's Wasted and Arnold Arre's Batch 72, as well as the "Lost" trilogy.

You see, the reason why I urge people to go back to the basics is because it's actually there where skills can truly be valued.  It's seems I am correct with mine assessment of yours.  Again, I don't discount your skill with the wacom, but, you need to go back to reality and learn how to really draw.  IT is you who are frustrated as an artist, but digital allowed you to do things you can't for real.

There's nothing wrong with that, except, like I said, without a computer, you have no art.

It's easier with the wacom because of the sensitivity controls, but, with patience and technique, anything one can do with a tablet can also be done with the mouse.

ANYONE with the drive to do digital CAN do digital, regardless of art background, but, those with traditional skills often do better because they understand the basics.

I can use the mouse very well than the wacom tablet.. so I beleieve nasa tao yan so when im comfortable using the mouse then hell with the tablet I will use the mouse.. I sold my wacom tablet as it gathers dust than having its purpose..

Heck I can even draw using my Macbook's touch/track pad..

But the tablet is created to serve s purpose of making sketching and drawing easier for artists.. right now I use solely my fingers sketching in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.. but sometimes still use a proprietary stylus for extra details..

well thats true.. there are several times I tried to to get used at using the wacom tablet (for the sole purpose of saying im using it and because its the "trend") but realized im much faster using the mouse.. so I ditched my tablet and settled for the good ol mickey..

another thing is photoshop.. I almost got into an argument with one of my officemate because she kept telling me why do I use photoshop in creating iOS and Android icons when the standard tool is illustrator.. well I said im far more comfortable using photoshop than illustrator.. plain and simple.. in illustrator its slows me down..

I dont give a big mierde about "specific tools for this or that" if I can do all of it using just one tool in a short time why will I limit myself?

funny I have been into a lot of arguments with fellow designers because of my "way" and "technique"..

My artwork were MEANT to look digital, but If I really work on it, I can make it look real.  Thing is, I can verily say the same with YOURS.  Halatang digital ang gawa mo on the getgo.  If I didn't indicate that those artwork were digital, especially the woodwork, you wouldn't even think it's digital.

See, I wasn't discouraging you after all.  In fact, I was encouraging you to practice traditional media because you're WEAK at it.  If you didn't LEARN that, it's because you now have a closed mind and have embraced digital as your only medium.  It is you who have a narrow opinion because you reject traditional media.  You yourself said you're skills are limited by the tool you use (you can't do mouse art), hence you prefer the wacom and digital.

Like "digital phot0graphers" whom I often hear the excuse "we'll fix it in photoshop," you rely too much on a virtual medium.  You may seem to create nice art, but, again, at the end of the day, when the computer is not on, WHERE IS YOUR ART?

I teach REAL art, and I get paid.  Also, how do you even presume to teach me something you have learned indirectly from people like me who developed the techniques to begin with?

As for boasting, you should practice more.  Depth and composition-wise, your rendering still look FLAT.  Might as well stick with pop art.

do not worry i am practicing as hard as i can so that i can inspire more beginning artists like me. i am 2 months old lang pala sa digital painting kaya di pa ako ganung kagaling kagaya mo.

ANYONE with the drive to do digital CAN do digital, regardless of art background, but, those with traditional skills often do better because they understand the basics.

I somewhat agree on this..

My uncle, animator who onced work at the Philippine Animation Studios told me that a group of young bright and skilled "Flash Animators" are having a hard time animating a "snapping ribbon" fluidly.. because there is this scene where a runner/sprinter wins the race by snapping the ribbon first.

He did it by doing it traditionally (frame by frame) and translated it to something like GIF animation rather than using "tween" animation.. it was from paper first before digitally porting it.. it was done in no time.

that is the importance of knowing the basics first before jumping into the advanced.. you sometimes miss the important ones. my uncle was a traditional animator since before jumping to digital.. unlike the digital animators of today who started doing digital without even starting traditionally.

He was my mentor and he worked on lots of stuffs we can see before and today (Aladdin Animated Series, Coco Crunch Commercials and recently the Nissin Cup Noodles Animated Commercial)

A lot of so-called "digital artists" miss this.  The fluidity of motion and the freedom of form is seldom expressed fully digitally.  Just because one can "draw" or "paint" with a wacom, it doesn't mean one can actually do it.

Nevertheless, it's a matter of application, but applying techniques is ONE-WAY.  Traditional media artists can go digital easily, applying the techniques, whereas the same techniques used in digital cannot be applied to traditional media when one doesn't have the background because the discipline is somewhat different.

Again, digital media is EASY because it IS digital.  Plain and simple.

@arpeggios,

you need a graphics tablet to this. based on what i posted, you need to sketch first and black out major shadows, colors and highlights. then add details and enhance highlights. it is quite difficult to explain the process here. more or less you are like painting on a canvass in doing this.

thanks by the way.

As far as I know, no one makes "fanmade" Magic card, but since you "asked," I was asking HIM, giving him a chance to come clean.  I knew the card didn't exist.  He posted that card to "show off."

that's nice sir. ako naman nagbabalak pa lang bumalik sa traditional. aiming to enter a certificate in fine arts para mas mahasa. thank for this thread sir artificial!

when creating vector-type graphics the hair is sometimes taken for granted because of the time needed to render the strands thru graphics.. intricate vexels.. time consuming it is..

You can always try the "easy" way of creating variable width brushes.

There's also the new bristle brush with AI CS5, and if you check the last few posts I made, can rival that of the photoshop brush even with a mere mouse...

im using CS5, hindi ko alam kung naeexpire to. im using wacom intuos 2, this is an old graphics tablet, the lates is the intuos 4. wacom is the leading brand in graphics tablet if i am not mistaken. you can get  it second hand for 5K na lang yata sa tipidpc.com. i am not sure if tablets from CD-R king is ideal for digital painting. you need to consider if it is programmable, pressure jitter-enabled (opacity, brush size, etc).

thanks by the way.

hmm I think so dude.. since hi-resolution yan nung sinave ko as jpeg.. probably compressed although you are right the effects made it a little more like "graphic-novel" looking.. kaso nga lang sa graphic nover more like katulad ng digital painting ni lordofpRS ang "effects" kasi soft brushed strokes unlike sa hard strokes ng vector-type.  :-D

Magiging transparent yung background.

ano bang plano mong gawin? hehe
kung icu'cut out lang yung tao tas ililipat sa ibang BG ang plano mo, tapos merong rectangular shape. e malamang low res yung image or hindi pen tool ang ginamit mong pang cut kasi nakakatamad. *lol*

the technique is called a photo "drop out."  Art described it well enough using the pen tool, but here's a visual guide.

Long gone is the time of sceptics who regarded painting with the aid of hardware and software as cheating; the artist still needs to be just as talented as ever before to produce breathtaking works.

it's been years since nag drowing ako ng maski kahit anu.
medyo rusty pa... marami pang praktis, bitaw muna guitar hehehehe
it's still a WIP and just half of the whole canvas
simple lang setup ko:
stylus and/or finger+ipad2+procreate app+comportableng upuan

^^ sanayan lang zoom in and out lang para sa detail work...

I was writing a document about "Usability" and "User Experience" when I realized I need a sample to show some applicants about it, to define it into an illustration to better interpret it, I tried to think of a website that I can simplify or re-introduce into a different medium.. to use it in a different experience rather than its original form..

I thought about.. why not I try creating a wireframe/UI flow of a forum site reintroduced into a mobile app? so I thought about Philmusic and was challenged on the site's technical complexity and data distribution (being a text-rich forum site) and how to make a version of it for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch.. it was not that easy..

Atleast for the UI flow I was able to draw up a nice mock up that makes sense..

I created a main menu that resembles the main philmusic board.. grouping the "PhilMusic.com Announcements & Feedback", "Musician's Forums", "The Musician Classifieds", "Pinoy Music Fan Forum", "Tech Forums" and "Anything Goes" into icons that will contain the sub-forums into "page navigation-type" flow to simplify user interaction.

The main menu is also a part of a 3-page dashboard that also has the "messages" area and the "user profile" area, they are all neatly embedded into a toolbar segmented control for easy user access.

The main challenge is the forum interaction itself.. the texts are simply overwhelming the physical 320x480 screen thus I use an approach called "progressive disclosure" to display the replies on threads.. replies in default are viewed in "hint" mode and the whole reply can be seen by tapping the row to collapse the whole cell displaying the rest of the message, and since most of the time the message/replies has linked images it is automatically displayed in "thumbnails" and can be seen in full-view by tapping on the images..

I have seen 2 forum applications in iTunes, I downloaded them and tried them.. one has a very complicated UI that also has moderator controls in it making it less intuitive.. the other one only had their livechat embedded into the app but when viewing the forum threads displays a "browser view" of the full forum site itself thus contradicting the relevance of having it converted into an simplistic app in the first place..

Converting a forum site into a mobile app doesnt mean that one must import/integrate all original controls and options into the application, since the general idea is to "simplify" the usage and make something originally used only in a fixed medium (like a forum site viewed in a browser using a desktop) into an accessible, on-the-go, easy to use mobile application that will offer the user the logical options he might need access on the road using his mobile phone like "replying to a thread", "reading personal messages sent by other forumers" and "changing his avatar photo"

Starting a new thread or adding moderator controls in my opinion complicates the UI since it will create more options that means "more buttons" and that means "more space" needed that cannot be forced into a small area of a mobile device.. we can save those tasks to the tablet and desktop browsers..

Again this is just created to exercise my mind and not meant for development.. I just find forum sites very "tricky" when converted into a mobile application. and since I bothered using philmusic as an inspiration.. I kinda find it cool to share it here  :)

Hehe. Basta galing nyo sir! *bow*

adobe photoshop or corel painter for digital painting(software)

tapos wacom tablet(hardware)- may mga mas murang brand like "genius" pero id recommend a wacom tablet, kahit second hand... :-D
