Title: silent studio open for public?
Post by: jejunaidrmmr on May 10, 2015, 02:52:39 AM
sir im planning na magopen ng (jamhub) silent studio for public.,

1. if you have to choose magpractice ng banda nyo anu kaya ppiliin nyo silent or live?

2. how much po kaya ideal price rate per hour ang affordable for silent studio?

thanks and godbless, more power to philmusic

makakaheadbang ka pa rin sa headphones. once you go silent, you never go back hehehe

isang maintenance issue na naexperience ko, yung mga headphones mo mabilis babaho sa pawis ng iba ibang tao. you cant buy good quality replacement pads here in pinas. cdrking sells them but disintegrate slowly. madumi.

bro pagmmabaho headphone hindi ko sinusuot hehehe ok yang silent jam kung late nights pero kung ako maghahanap ng practice gusto ko yung maingay or "that in the room sound" pero try mo parin

+1 on the headphones problem. I'd be wary of wearing sweaty ass cans, knowing people jam with these for hours. And good luck if cables get tugged and your cans aren't the ones with removable cables. Buds and in ears are out of the question (parang pinalitan mo lang yung pawis ng luga).

I'd also be careful of the e-drums. A lot of drummers can't readily adjust to an electronic kit, especially those "kids" that are starting out. As for the maintenance cost, you can get away with broken cymbals and battered acoustic heads. You can have them cut and duct taped to death for a couple hundred bucks until you can buy another good set.

interesting!

^Mas harmful ba talaga yung live sound? Or yung headphones?

180 per hour sila sir. mas mahirap maintenance nung headphones. pagkagamit, punas agad with alcohol so dagdag costs agad. better nga kung bring your own.

about sa drum pads paps, mejo mahihirapan ka jan kung papayag kang magplay ang mga noobs or punk bands. or lalo na ynug mga metal kuno bands. tingin ko paps okay ito for mature players na.

good thread!

contemplating on this silent studio concept as well..

good points on the headphone hygene issue.. well sort things out and go for it...I think, it has to be sort of membership-VIP style na hindi buong baranggay ay allowed to use your facility..

for me, may market eh..

say mga working dudes..na walang time to go to a proper studio..

Limited market in the Philippines, but a good concept. Might be essential if you're a working band (ie, professional big bucks) and want to hear your instrument above or apart from the mix (as you can pan your instrument hard right, then the mix hard left).. Problem is, this will be limited to instruments that can be "silenced", ie - electric guitars (with effects), electric bass, drums, synths. If the band has acoustic instruments - brass, percussion, string section -- what, then? Even an acoustic guitar is a challenge, unless the band has a "silent" guitar or a variax.

Pero one master EQ controls, matuto kayo magmix.. without the effects of the room (reverb). no need for sound proofing. Stereo effects!
