Sino ba dito mga MusicMan users? post nyo naman mga pictures & their tone/performances in live/recording, Okey I'll start na lang muna, Here's my LUKE BFR Tobacco Burst, I haven't used it in recording, in live, hanep! hindi ako iniiwanan, binibigay nito ang tunog na kinakailangan ko sa live... @carefulwiththataxeeugene - that's a really nice JP guitar. but i thought JPs have shield inlays? correct me on this. I've read that Ernie Ball makes some of the most comfortable thin necks... :-)

You're right, but inlays on JP are only on BFR & exclusively for him... But I think ernieball made a JP w/ inlays for japan distributor....

the jp shield inlays are available only if you want them to be on your guitar...you actually have options when you order your guitar from ernie ball musicman...matching headstock color...jp inlays and piezo...which also means an additional cost...kaya i wanted the basic setup...after all i am nowhere near jp...and i like the strat feel to the non matching headstock...
oh...and you are right about the neck... :-)

What's the story behind OLP at Sterling ball by musicman?
OLP has retired. The Sterling by MusicMan is the new product line. released I think January of 2009 at the Winter NAMM show. It's a mid range priced line They are much better quality than the OLP instruments, It is also set up in the US.. not to mention a bit more expensive than the OLP.
its a top quality entry to mid level Music Man line. :D

Hi all,
I just posted a picture of my SX guitar and saw this thread so I thought i'd share my EB JP guitars as well. :-)
I mainly use the red one and yes I do gig with them. Nabili na so might as well use it para di masayang. Actually, I have my brother to thank for the red one because he bought it for me... but I do have to pay him back. :| :-D
They are great guitars and I believe you do get what you pay for when it comes to any EB Musicman guitar or bass for that matter. You can hear it in action on our demo tracks at our myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/ninthparadigm ...I used the 7 string on all the tracks. Low budget so no time for changing setups. :-D Thanks! :-)

Di ko pa naririnig yung bagong pickups so I can't compare. Sorry. I think the first JP's had dimarzio Steve Specials and Air Norton then D-Sonic and Air Norton and now the Crunchlab and Liquifire.... tama ba? Ano gusto mo, yung Steve special na tunog?

i prefer the tone fomr the scenes from a memory tour. on his prototype ones. i think the pickups are the same as that of his ibanez JP models.

lo pro edge ang gamit ni john sa mga ibanez nya dati...for his ebmm jp6 he they designed a modern floating trem na based sa vintage trems and wilkinson trem...i think the prototype of his ebmm guitar bago sya lumipat sa musicman can be found sa ibanez desert camo jpm...naka wilkinson trem na yun na may piezo...yung unang version nung ebmm guitar nya wala pa yung arm rest sa trem...i like the new trem...madali magpalit ng string and maasahan mo na di nawawala sa tono...i don't do that much steve vai whammy tricks kaya it's the trem for me... :-)

laking pinag bago ng musicman guitars..yung na try ko lng gamitin kasi sir yung old type na parang kahawig ng steve lukather silhouette model pero naka floydrose...yung mga lumang klaseng floyd...

hehe I just want to share this. I was supposed to get myself a gibby ES-339 next month but after acquiring the Silohuette, parang di ko na kailangan. :lol: Instant guitar GAS killer din pala ang MusicMan guitars eh. :lol:

balak ko palitan yung dalawang humbuggies, iniisip ko baka Dimarzio Bluesbuckers o kaya Lollar HB-sized P90's, mas gusto ko kasi talaga tunog ng strat. :lol: grabe, ginamit ko sa gig kagabi yung MM, di pa rin ako maka-move on. sobrang ganda ng playability talaga. :-D

I'm already satisfied with the tone right now. Baka pagsisihan ko lang if I do modifications. Iba talaga playability nya. I also love its weight. :-D

Musicman owners, have you tired re-treating your necks with gun stock oil and wax? I bought a can of Birchwood Casey TruOil Gun Stock Oil earlier but I couldn't find the wax, I read in the forums that any carnauba wax can be used as an alternative? has anyone tried this? :?

hey guys!I'm planning on installing a tremolo assembly on my fixed bridge silhouette, any ideas what brand/model of trem assemblies can I use? not entirely leaning on floyd rose tremolos though. thanks. :-)

i lost my jp6's neckplate,. it happened last year when i went back there (philippines). i talked to AJ Braman, EBMM domestic sales manager for whatever i can do regarding this incident. too bad they cant replace mine w/o the original one but i got another one online. so for you guys out there, BE CAREFULL you might be buying a phony guitar w/ original neckplate! i believe this worth Php100,000 so watch out. the serial # is G30310. i still have all the legal documents from guitar center and registration so.. good day everyone!

Suited kasi iyong morse pus sa style ni morse, baka hindi ko maappreciate. Saka i really fell in love with the rebel set...covers a lot of ground.

In my experience, ok naman na may DI box. But sometimes pag malapit lang yung mixer ng PA, direct na sa PA. Nga lang pag may DI, 1/4 to 1/4 cable lang need mo. Pag direct to PA 1/4 to XLR pa.
May LR Baggs Venue Preamp/DI pa kasi ako kaya dun ako sa DI box setup.
And one more thing, need mo ba talaga splitter cable? Ayaw mong 2 cables na lang? Minsan iba daw resolution pag Y cable ang gamit according to some users. Mas buo daw yung 2 separate cables pa din.

Bro, eto yung available at the time na binili ko sa Tom Lee which is a good thing kasi hindi talaga ako mahilig sa fixed bridge. You're right na option ito. Mostly fixed bridge kasi ang lumalabas. Maski si Steve Morse mismo naka fixed bridge e.

Ah I see. Naka 4 cable method ka pala from your board sa harap papunta sa amp sa likod?
If that's the case then go for the DI thing na lang with your piezo signal from your split cable. Yung magnetic signal diretso ka na sa guitar amp.
Mag MONO double guitar bag ka bro para madali magdala ng 2 guitars :)

I'm using my usual workhorse Roland Super Cube 60, the silver one that I scored from Gab. That one's modded too, hahahah. Jensen MOD 70 speaker, made the amp sound fuller, and the high end more controllable. In this clip, it was just a delay, the Silo and the amp.
I'm loving the 24 fret neck, i've always preferred them to one's with less. There does seem to be a minor compromise with the neck pick up tone, but it's too minor for me to be fussy about. And the BKP Crawler there sounds sexy anyways :-D

I bet that what you have left is a killer :)
All of the EBMMs that i've played were good. The only one i struggled with was a Sterling JP Model at Tom Lee, but that was primarily due to a poor set up. The action was so high you could stick your tongue under the high E... hahahaha
